While I think this shop has it all over most Hallmark locations because of the extensive array of gift items, collectibles and decorative things, I’m volliyng between a 2 and 3 star rating, merely because, for as many years as I’ve been coming to this store spending money on cards that people eventually throw away, the staff at Paperphanalia just gets more lackadasical as the years pass. There used to be some very kind middle aged ladies who worked here, who actually offered to help you, who spoke to you and made polite conversation – even offered to hold my baby while I looked at cards instead of juggling the myriad of bags, bottles, etc. in my hands. The last 4 – 5 times I’ve been in this year, the staff is made up of 1 – 3 younger girls, possibly graduated from high school with the customer service training of a flea. I can buy Hallmark cards at Walgreens. I can’t buy all the giftware and adorable, unique baby items and other things anywhere else, but I won’t give my money to a store that has lazy, unfriendly staff.

Not as it appears; it’s much better! This shop in the KMart shopping center on Dixie Highway has a small Hallmark sign along with its own sign and seems rather non-descript. Inside, though, lurks a spacious gift and greeting card store with a little bit of everything: Vera Bradley, jewelry, key chains, stuffed animals, baby gifts, wedding items, photo frames, recipe books, cards and more cards. It’s too large to take in all at once, but I saw a bracelet I liked(labeled hand blown glass beads, but I couldn’t determine where it was made), some interesting key rings, and a turquoise-themed hand painted tray. Ended up buying the greeting cards I went in for, but I’ll keep it in mind for next time I’m shopping for a gift.
