Today, while driving to do a little shopping on 50th and France, I discovered this little candy store. It was out of the corner of my eye and I immediately shouted to my husband, «TURNTHECARAROUND!» I have always been a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland(to the point of obsession) so this place delighted me beyond belief. These are the creative little shops you HOPE to find, yet rarely do. This place is the essence of Edina. The owner achieved exactly what I was hoping for. You feel like you have fallen down the rabbit hole as soon as you enter the store. Loved it and couldn’t stop staring at all the unique displays! Granted, the selection was slightly pricey.(This is Edina… are you seriously complaining? C’mon…) But I’m going to have to disagree with previous posters, they DO have a great selection. They had s’mores chocolate balls which were awesome! Their sugar cookie balls were also excellent. I can’t wait to try some of their other kinds. I also have to give them props for paying homage to all the 80’s candies of my youth. Not to mention the ‘time capsule’ candy boxes. So cool! Oh yes — lets not forget that they also have Abdallah chocolates on-hand. YUM! Great taste… I would love to see an additions to the store. Perhaps a case of fresh chocolate treats up-front? Maybe even custom cakes?(Alice did in fact love her cake…) Either way, I’m coming back for seconds… and thirds! :D

Shopping at Alix’s is fun. The store is beautiful, selection is large, staff is friendly. My kids were in heaven. I liked the special color selection of M&Ms. I bought some really good chocolate, salted caramels, marshmallows, malt balls galore. Problems? The two different types of gummies I tasted seemed off. I didn’t finish either of them, which is saying a lot. Also, prices seem high. Don’t waste your money on anything you can get just about anywhere like Mike and Ike’s or candy corn. It would be nice to have a scale like in the produce department so you can judge about how much you are getting.

A magical fantasy with candy! What an adorable store! But, bring your wallet — sweet doesn’t come cheap. Great selection of the fancy, the odd, and the old. Love the retro candy. Even candy themed jewelry and gifts. Friendly staff. If you need gift baskets, party favors etc. THIS is the place for something beautiful and unique.

This place is amazing. If you go to the right you’re surrounded by little kids mesmorized by neon gummies… walk to the candy bar on the left and it is an assortment of chocolate delights. This place is so much fun! It will bring out your inner kid. They also have an assortment of candy from overseas plus edible undergarments which are fun for the occasional bachelorette party gift. Candy fun for all ages! Enjoy, this is a must stop!

I stopped by Alix in Candyland today with my two little girls and we had a blast! The store has a really cool vibe plus beautiful candies and chocolates. As you can imagine, my little girls were beyond excited to be at the candy store and a little rambunctious. The staff was so nice and welcoming, not at all phased by crazy children. I’ll be telling everyone I know about Alix in Candyland. We had a lot of fun!
