Pearle Vision

One star because they can get you in for eye appointments quickly. No other stars because they try to upsell you a lot of crap that you don’t need … and they refuse to write the pupillary distance on the prescription for you. They say that it’s because they don’t want to be responsible if the PD is wrong if you get your glasses elsewhere. Really, it’s because they don’t want you to buy cheaper glasses on-​line, but if I (or my insurance) paid for a full eye exam, I think I should be able to get the PD.
If you come in with old frames and ask to have the new prescription/​lenses added to your old frames, they say that they are not responsible if they break your frames, even if your frames are perfectly fine and even if you bought the frames from Pearle originally. Basically, Pearle has changed their business model to try to wring as much money out of you as possible.
Today, they somehow lost my appointment. I made it last week, but they didn’t have any record of it so I had to come back ~2 hours later for the eye exam. I had forgotten how much this place pissed me off the last time I was here, but they did a good job of reminding me today. I will not be coming back here.
