I went to Café Touché twice this week. Bright, open, esp on a nice day with the windows open. Nice place to bring your mom, wife, gf, etc. Did the care for the croque monsiour sandwich. Very oily and looks like something a college kids made on their stove with store bought ham. Appetizers and salads are good. Service is very attentive and pleasant.

This was my first time here; everything with the exception of dessert was great. Our waitress, Paris, was great, we told her it was our first time here and novices to French cuisine; she walked us through the menu and offered recommendations. I had the strip steak with frites, my wife had the salmon; both were excellent, as was the crab cake appetizer. Paris also suggested a red wine, which was great. Dessert was the only weak spot in the meal, I tried the profitiroles(sp) which were underwhelming, they were hard, the ice cream filling was good though. I would not hesitate to return.

This is a fun french restaurant recommended by a friend — who is a huge fan. The dining room is very traditional and there are many selection from a quite lengthy menu. I changed my mind so many times because everything sounded so good. I settled on biftek and pomme frites… or steak and french fries. AND yes, as some photos show, the steak is hidden. Boy! It was juicy delicousness. A bit rare for my tasting — so be warned! That said, I ate my steak in a circle, because the crispy coating was too good to let go to waste! DESSERT!!! Was amazing. Profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Normally, I don’t eat dessert, but given all the rave reviews of the profiteroles(seriously, that is a crazy word!!!), I had to indulge and it made me very happy!!!

Went here with a few friends for the Sunday brunch — the $ 10 bottomless mimosa deal was the main reason we decided to check this place out. I set reservations last week and when I arrived @ set time they seated me pretty quickly. Our table was inside but the doors were open to the outdoor area right next to us, so that was great esp. because the we got lucky to go on the warmest day we have had yet, this spring. I definitely give the service 5 stars — these guys were on top of their game — always refilling our waters and when our flute looked low on mimosa they came over to fill us right back up :) I order the chicken and waffles w. the bacon. My friend’s ordered the orange ricotta crepes and the poached egg w. spinach, potatoes– similar to an eggs bene. Unfortunately, the chicken lacked any flavor at all. The waffles were OK and the bacon was not cooked enough, to my liking(rubbery bacon is not my thing). We all really liked the orange ricotta crepes and the poached egg bene dish. Overall, the atmosphere is very nice, service is great and the chicken and waffles will def. be skipped next time.

My favorite brunch destination. Suggest you make reservation or the wait could be long. Love the Bloody Mary bar special, almost a meal in itself. Waiters all nice but one of my favorites is the sweet bread they serve with your meal. Great family or friend get together place.

Nice Touch, Touché! I have only been here twice but so far so really good. Each time service was friendly and competent from everyone from the hostess, manager and server. The menu is creative without being crazy-weird. It makes you go «Ooh that sounds good» and not«Eww, what the heck is that?» Also, have been for both dinner and brunch. Both were very tasty and memorable enough to make me want to go back again and bring different people in who I know would enjoy it. Also the room is nice… simple and casually elegant, not stuffy and just pleasant. My favorite meal has been the brunch. I had chicken and waffles(see photo) and it also came with yummy bacon. The chicken and waffles would have been enough so having the bacon was a nice«bonus.» The presentation is very nice too, which makes a difference to me. Next time, I’m making someone drive me so I can take advantage of the $ 12 Bloody Mary and mimosa bar(all you can drink).

Café Touché has always been more edgy and unique than most restaurants around this neighborhood . Upon entering, I always feel that every turn I am entering an old manor home with century old décor, entirely new experience. We were welcomed by JOSH, a generous and welcoming server who, from the moment we sat down until the very last moment we left, couldn’t have been more attentive and professional. The menu’s flavors have likewise expanded, reaching from the early classic cooking style to the today techniques. Nothing best than start with the homemade chicken liver pâté. Café Touché was truly made for all levels of wine drinkers. Wide ranging of wine list that will appeal to every palate.

Love this place! Great service and good French food. There martini’s are amazing! It’s also family friendly but nice for a date night as well. Love the baked brie. We eat here at least once a month.

We don’t go to the burbs to eat often but it was a good opportunity to try a new place when we went home to my mom’s for the weekend. I made a 8:00pm reservation online. We arrived approximately 10 minutes before our reservation and were told to grab a seat at the bar. At first there was no room so we stood around until a spot opened up. At the bar we ordered a bottle of the Bordeaux, $ 42, not a bad price. Interestingly enough, the bartender poured two glasses of wine for us, without letting either of us try the wine to see if it was good and okay to drink. The place seemed a little frazzled and hectic and we were not seated until 8:18.pm. We took the bottle of wine over to our table and asked if we could include it on our bill with dinner. Instead, the bartender sent over the tab to our table to pay before we started our dinner, another thing I’ve never seen done before. Neither of us were entirely hungry going into dinner so we decided we would each have two appetizers instead of order entrees. We were originally going to split the dish of the day, which was the duck, however our waiter said they ran out of duck. So Instead, I had the French onion soup, which although not very oniony, was very smooth and creamy. I also had the lyonnaise salad which fell very flat compared to the one I had at Bevette’s. The salad had exactly 4 pieces of bacon, 3 of which were mainly bacon fat and not the meat itself. My boyfriend had the escargot which came out still bubbling hot, as well as their chicken, shrimp, and andouille sausage rice app. He really enjoyed both. Our waiter was a pretty nice guy, although now that I think about it, he never offered us their dessert menu. Overall, I think everything sounded delicious on the menu and despite a few hiccups, we had a nice night.

Love the Touché!, Since they opened, this place have delivered flavor in a consistent way through out the years. Friendly staff, free valet parking, and a great selection of wines. If you are around Edison Park, this is your place for French food period.

Drove all the way from Chicago to this place for my friend’s birthday brunch. I looked at the reviews and they were all positive, I was excited. But honestly I wouldn’t come here after my experience. Everyone at the table got their meal on time and looked beautiful. Mine was a piece of burnt chicken on top of a cold waffle: no syrup and no bacon. On top of that, I was drinking coffee, which took over 20 minutes to get to the table, every single time. I kept asking and he kept bringing everyones drinks, but not my coffee. Worst experience ever!!!

Came in for Sunday brunch and took advantage of the unlimited bloody mary and mimosa bars, definitely worth it! Food was great and service was very friendly but seemed a little short staffed as it took longer for the bill to be taken care of but but will definitely be back!

Hidden gem! Or right in the open. Fantastic décor(think Mon ami Gabi… tres French), somewhat upscale but plenty of patrons in jeans. Went for brunch and would definitely go back for a date night! They serve a pound cake/bread free when you arrive, coffee was fantastic and a bottomless mimosa for $ 10 is really a great deal. Bloody Mary endless was $ 12 and the buffet for those looked great(celery, olives, shrimp, sausage, cheese, pickles, etc!). Would highly recommend brunch. Very easy parking but they also have valet. Thanks Café Touché! Rafael did a great job and we will for sure be back.

I’ve been here twice. The first time was for dinner. We dined outside. And the second time inside for brunch. Both times the service was slow. It is extremely loud and hard to hold a conversation with your group. Very cramp too many tables way too close together. The food here is nothing impressive. I much prefer their sister restaurant Zia’s so much more. I don’t think I’ll be going back here anytime soon.

Adding a second review for their Sunday Brunch. They have a lot of good offerings and what they offer is decent. A few special omelets got great reviews and I had the Banana’s Foster French toast which was delicious.(perhaps could have used a tad more sauce though) and a little bit of vanilla ice cream would have made this a true banana’s foster experience! The Mimosa’s are bottomless for $ 10. and they do a good job giving you just enough OJ so as allow that wonderful champagne buzz sooner rather than later… My only criticism was I wish they offered a little more variety such as Cranberry or Pomegranate as other places do.(Breakfast Club has an awesome Pomegranate Champagne so perhaps I’m just spoiled now.) They seem to go the extra mile for the $ 12 Bottomless Bloody Mary’s. None of us ordered them, but they offer a special mix of ingredients that you go up to the bar and pick and choose.(Maybe the idea of walking up to the bar is to assure no one is over-served.) Only other«wish» is that they would allow the omelettes to be special ordered with ingredients. I’ve never heard a place tell you that you have to order the«special» omelets as shown on the menu instead of a pick your ingredients type of omelette. I would find it hard to believe they were pre-made, although maybe they are mixed that way. Come on Café Touché, allow for some special orders in the Omelette dept please. The server was friendly but a little slow. and we had to flag him down for our refills instead of just being attentive. I typically expect to hold my glass out and have someone fill me up(just kidding, but perhaps if he was a little more like that instead of MIA, it would have been nice.) Will return based on convenience, but I think there are other places that go the extra extra mile. Definitely still a dinner service fan however…

We found Café Touché through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Everything was 5 star all the way. Service was excellent. Our waiter, Angelo, was very attentive, and when we let him know we liked a leisurely pace, he did a great job timing. Now to the food, we shared the chicken liver mousse and house pâté, both very flavorful. The real«meaux» style mustard and gherkins were just right. My wife had the pork tenderloin in a calvados sauce, again well executed and accompanied by an au gratin potato casserole and French«haricots verts.» I had the bouillabaisse, an excellent broth with Lake Michigan whitefish and scads of mussels, shrimp, clams, scallops and squid. The saffron infused broth was perfect for dipping the aioli spread toast. Dessert was a profiterole au chocolat, and an apricot almond tart, both up to snuff. My wife and I agreed that although this was the first visit to Café Touché, it would not be the last.

My experience at Café can be summarized in one word — meh. I don’t know how else to put it. Would I go back? Sure. Would it be my first choice? Doubtful. Ambiance and service get a big A+ from me. I love the French bistro feel. Not that I’ve ventured across the Atlantic to know what a French bistro feels like. But my assumption is that it feels like the vibes put out from Café Touché. Service was also stellar. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. She also didn’t turn up her nose after the third ask for complimentary bread.(Important note — it’s the best darn thing in there!!) Now — on to the menu. The large menu offered up some of of your French faves — brie en croute, escargot, ratatoullie, poulet et frites; along with other favorites like hamburgers, baked mac n’cheese, and ravioli. I’m not sure this totally deems the place a «French bistro» but whatever, I’ll go with it. To start, our table ordered the La Brochette de Poulet(chicken, andouille sausage and shrimp with creole mustard sauce and jambalaya rice) and the cauliflower salad. Loved the salad. However, the teeny tiny platter of chicken, sausage, and shrimp I could have done without. Yes, it was good but $ 10 for about 4 bites didn’t cut for me. For my entrée I ordered the Poulet Paillard which was described as «grilled, lemon chicken breast with mixed greens, haricot verts, lemon beurre blanc». Another way to describe this would be «mixed greens with chicken». What was brought out to me was a platter of mixed greens with two tiny pieces of chicken and a few random green beans. That was definitely not what I had expected — especially for the price. On the positive side, one of my friends ordered the short ribs with the pommes au gratin. That dish — was to die for. The beef was cooked to perfection — falling apart tender and drenched in a seductive wine sauce. Swoon factor — 10. Overall, I give Café Touché a solid 3 stars. I’m a bit turned away by the price given the portion sizes and quality of food. That’s not to say I wouldn’t return — it’s just not that high on my priority list. Je suis triste.

Visiting Chicago, we wanted to try a couple of different places. This was on the list and seems not too far away from where we were staying. It seems to be a family business and everyone who lives in the neighborhood dines there and know each other well. The food looked great on the menu and one of our friends who wanted a specific vegetarian dish that was listed, found out that they were out of that dish. The waiter then proceeds to suggest another dish, which consist of meat. DUH! In the end we had to get the manager to come over. He then got right on it and fixed the problem. She got the dish which was O… K and he got it from his sister restaurant down the block. LOL! The food I ordered was delish, but not sure if I would go back. Very nice background music if I might add :-)

Sorry, I just can’t give them more than what I thought they deserve — but maybe it was what I ordered. It just wasn’t all that great. I wanted Coq Au Vin, it was on the website menu, but they don’t serve it anymore, so that was the first disappointment. I have yet to dine at a French Restaurant where Coq Au Vin was not served — till now. The smoked salmon appetizer was good — the wine was good, the bread was ok, the chicken in place of the Coq Au Vin was not tender, almost a little undercooked or cooked too fast — just wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. We did not have dessert — usually pretty tough to screw up a dessert so I was only concentrating on the main meal items. I will give them another shot sometime to be fair, but it was not all that. The service was great and Joe the manager was very nice. I love Zia’s if that makes things better…

Sitting on a block with many other restaurants, makes parking challenging. Once I got inside the atmosphere is decidedly French café complete with the circular tiles in the floor and the French doors that open the walls to the outside on pretty, bug free days. LOL The French bread comes in a paper bag as if I just left the Boulangerie. I started with a salad with fried goat cheese and a buttermilk pepper dressing. For my meal, I chose a hearty more wintery meal than I expected – Porc Calvados. It was similar to a Marsala gravy with lightly breaded medallions of pork. The gratin potatoes were good but average good, not spectacular in flavor. It was a good meal. Hearty and dense perhaps for mid-May, but quite good. Filling enough to skip dessert, unfortunately.

I came here for brunch twice & both times were great experiences. They offer unlimited Mimosas for $ 10 and an unlimited Bloody Mary bar for $ 12 — though I recommend getting the Bloody Mary deal because you can switch off to Mimosas after a while :). The food also was very good & I hope to return soon. I was very impressed with the service here — everyone was really attentive and took great care of our table. I also appreciated that our server wasn’t trying to push us out to turn over the table as I came with a group of friends that I have not seen in a long time, so we wanted to catch up a little bit and enjoy our mimosas. I’ve worked in the industry for a little while and I know how frustrating it can be sometimes when a table hangs out for a while, so if our server is reading this — I’m sorry and thank you! Also, I’m not sure what wait times typically look like for brunch because i’ve made a reservation for both times.

Pleasant place to come for brunch. Came here on a Sunday and they offered $ 10 for unlimited mimosas or $ 12 for unlimited Bloody Mary’s at the bar. The menu was not large but did offer a variety of things. Our server was training a new employee and managed to spilled coffee all over our table and forget our creamers. Not a great way to train someone, in my opinion. We also had to ask for coffee refills from the bus boy, while the servers were congregating around the hostess table talking twirling their hair. We did not get checked on once during our meal. The weather was nice that day with all the doors open, so the breeze caused the tablecloths to blow off of the tables from time to time. A bit annoying.

Bookmarked this place for a long time and finally made it here last night. Both food and service were great. Warm fresh bread and butter was served quickly :). The scallop with spinach is a must-try, it’s almost a perfect dish, one of the BEST scallops I have had in US. Walleye was fresh and pretty good, just a little too heavy(to me) with those little clam and potato and the creamy sauce. Short rib was nice too, I like the sauce. Was surprised they make some really nice macchiato, that was my «dessert». I’m glad that we were there early, we arrived around 6:45 and we got a table for two right away. The place was about 70% full at that time in the dining area, while the spacious outdoor patio was already full(very nice weather). The bar was also quite full already. We saw more and more people coming in and by 7:30 it was 100% full, we then started to people lining up waiting for table. I called before and was told that they only take reservation for party of 5 or 6 and more. So, I guess it’s better to just be there early otherwise you will expect a little wait. They have a large menu; many food choice. Will definitely come back again.
