I read the reviews today and thought this would be a nice place for dinner while staying at the Hilton O’Hare. Upon getting there, I found the hotel under renovation and the restaurant closed. The other restaurant, Vincense was open and the menu was nothing better than a McDonald’s. We left and walked over to Morton’s. Perhaps when they finish renovation someone can provide an update. It is still listed at being part of the Sofitel. That hotel is now the Rosemont and is soon to be another Hilton I am told. This is as of 5÷5÷2010.

Simply put… amazing! A nice experience from beginning to end. My family and I decided to bring some out-of-town relatives to brunch. Since their hotel was nearby and their departing flight was in the afternoon, it made sense based on location. Parking is not an issue if you know where to go. The entry to Rosemont Hotel is on the Bryn Mawr(north) side of the block. Whether you make the immediate left or continue towards the parking structure further within the campus, make sure you head for the outdoor parking that runs along River Road. This will make the trek close than coming from the parking structure. Self and valet parking are validated by the restaurant. Upon arrival, our party was not complete, so the host gave us the option of being seated or waiting in the hotel lobby. We opted for the latter and were impressed of their mindfulness. They kept track of us and sought us out to see if the party was complete. When everyone arrived we were seated immediately. We had made reservations, but they were not excessively busy. I had the avocado omelette. Delicious! It was light, creamy and tasty. The potatoes were nicely done and crisp. My family all ordered the corn beef with no complaint. Food was not really the topic of conversation since we were immersed in family matters. Special note, my nephew has food allergies, so we needed to make an off-menu request. He simply got a plate of cantaloupes. Not a big deal, but believe me other restaurants would not pay too much mind. They were seamless in treating the situation. The service was wonderful, very helpful, courteous, and happy. They addressed all our needs, yet allowed us to have uninterrupted conversation. They were mindful of who was to receive the check and promptly validated our parking. Pros: friendly staff, good food and mindful service, beautiful environment Cons: none

To all the restaurants I’ve loved before: I don’t mean to gallivant around town(and sometimes other towns) sampling the goods of other restaurants, but I just can’t help myself. I’m in love again, with another. While staying at the Hilton O’Hare for business, I decided that, instead of dodging people with luggage at the hotel bar/restaurant, I would go somewhere good. I’ve been to Chez Colette before. My self proclaimed«high maintenance» bff and I had a lovely lunch on her long layover. A few steps across the street and I was on my way via free hotel shuttle. The moment I arrived, I was greeted enthusiastically by my server, Tony. Wow, I felt more like an honored guest than just a customer. Tony seemed to truly enjoy working there and he was very well versed in the wine list and menu. The champagne flight was tempting, but I decided to try the Backyard Blackberry Margarita. It is made up of pressed blackberries, fresh thyme, tequila and champagne. I was hesitant to order it since it was on the«cocktails for her» side of the menu, but Tony guaranteed me that it wouldn’t be too sweet. The bartender even came over when it was delivered to make sure it was made just how I like it. It was delicious. Now that’s service! While I was perusing the menu, I noticed that they also had my absolute favorite port — Taylor Fladgate LBV. OMG, nobody has this! Picture me smiling like an idiot at my romantic table for one by the fireplace. I was so happy! I ended up ordering the fettuccine with scallops and shrimp. It was amazingly rich and tasty. Something about the shrimp tasted different. What was that taste? Oh yeah, freshness. I decided to save room for the cheese plate to enjoy with my port. I am kicking myself now for choosing the American cheeses. I should have been more adventurous and gone with the French. You know, French restaurant and all. I was way too full to order dessert, but they always bring a little something sweet to finish off the meal. This time it was an incredibly rich and creamy chocolate mousse. Tony also brought me a little taster of the house champagne that they serve with brunch. Such a tease! I’m just sad that this place is all the way out by the airport. It’s worth the trip, though, maybe you’ll find me hanging out in Rosemont more often!

A group of friends and I went to Chez Colette for lunch during restaurant week where they had a $ 21 fixed price four course lunch special. It consisted of a soup, salad, entrée, and dessert. Although the portions were small, it was delicious! I started with the lobster bisque, which was rich and smooth with the right touch of cream — I highly recommend it! The salad was goat cheese salad with various greens — it was a little light on the dressing but the cheese made up for it as it held very strong flavor. I chose a petit filet mignon as my entrée — and that is where the portions were small — but it was lunch and not dinner. I was able to get enough bites out of it to enjoy the delectable meat wrapped with a strip of bacon. And finally, I had their signature mini desserts. You can’t really go wrong with desserts with me, so of course it was yummy!

Again, Restaurant Week. There were three bartenders and the service was great. They serve you a little bowls of olives and cheese crackers with your drink. Very nice. We tried all the choices on the RW menu. The salad was tasty — fresh greens and a light tarragon dressing. French onion soup was nice but not exceptional. The Coq au Vin was okay — a little salty and served with bland noodles. The beef tenderloin was excellent. as was the grilled salmon. Dessert — outstanding. Chocolate mousse was served with a crispy, thin cookie. But the raspberry soufflé was incredible. It was served with both of chocolate sauce and custard. There was a decent wine list with bottle prices beginning at $ 29. Service was excellent. Chez Collette is quite good for hotel restaurant and worth a visit.

The duck and lobster appetizers were decadent. The Lobster bisque was exactly how lobster bisque should taste. I wanted more. We ordered the saffron alfredo and the coq au vin for the entrees. Both were extremely tasty. The service was good, not overly attentive, but there when you need em. The water was filled by a ninja I swear. Never saw him, but filled my glass several times. I was a bit disappointed with the entrée portions however. The coq au vin portion was a chix wing drumette and a small piece of a(thigh)? The saffron alfredo was served with one large shrimp and one or two sea scallops if I remember correctly. The rest of the seafood in the dish was filler seafood. They used bay scallops and popcorn shrimp. For $ 20 a pop I’d expect to have a bit more. Overall we ahd a good experience here. We went on a Friday and the place was almost empty, but it was really cold out that night. Be sure to self park and get it validated for free.

Never would I think of going to a hotel restaurant for a meal… EVEN if I’m staying at the hotel. Why? Becauase rarely do you find a hotel restaurant that serves decent food. But, Colette displels this stereotype. Friends and I stopped here for lunch recently, and I was incredibly impressed. We opted for the $ 21 express lunch, which is a four course meal! Included was a full bowl of soup, a salad, an entrée and a dessert. Although the lobster bisque was much better than the Pisto(sp?), soup, this vegetable soup in a chicken broth was still good. The salad dressing was a little tart, but not too and the entrée — a good sized serving of flank steak served over rissotto, was excellent. I was not particularly fond of the apple gallette –just a little too bitter and just a tad bit soggy. Still, I would still rate the meal as very good. I was especially impressed by the service and the presentation — each course was served on a large platter, in these delightful serving dishes.

Ive eaten lunch in almost all of the rest. in the Cumberland-and Rosemont corridor. I enjoyed this as much as Gibsons and much more than Harry Carrays and Carluccis! I had the 20 «lunch express» which consisted of a) lobster bisque soup b) mixed salad C) 4 oz fillet Mignon d) banana crepes. The presentation and service were excellent. Krissy ordered the ham and cheese(Monsieur???) as well as a 2 of the dessert taster(1.49 each) Iwill be returning. We booked a table via open Table and were taken right next to a romantic fireplace. Good Job

I work in the area, and just recently stumbled across this gem. I had heard things that the place was overpriced and not very good, but my experience here was pretty nice. Parking is limited, but if you park in the ticket area the waiter will validate for free parking. There is also the option to valet. Our waiter seemed nervous for some reason or had some difficulty talking, but he was nice. They have some nice french bread on the table, and my coworker and I both got the Express Lunch that seemed like a 4 course tasting menu. I got the Lobster Bisque, salad, Lake Trout, and this Pistacchio mousse dessert. It was pretty tasty, and the right portion for a meal. I’ve had a decent sandwich and breakfast pastries from here as well, and they were also good. It may be kind of pricey for lunch, but good for when you want to treat yourself to something a little nicer.

This is a very nice place. While in town for a convention I had two breakfasts here and was impressed. The crepes were delicious(I like American crepes but its nice to go back to thin euro style crepes from time to time). The American breakfast was less impressive and more expensive, I’d say if you’re going to eat here, go for the more ornate menu items. That’s all I got for yas, it’s a really solid breakfast place with a great feel(and the service is actually pretty decent!) stuck in the middle of a convention center town.

A great place for lunch if you’re working in Rosemont, as I am. My favorite is the Croque Monsieur, which is a ham and cheese sandwich with mornay sauce. Very rich, but you basically get two sandwiches(four halves) with your salad or fries, so you have a whole other sandwich to save for lunch tomorrow or dinner later. Also, love the $ 1.00 mini desserts!

This casual French restaurant is in the Sofitel O’Hare, and I was surprised by how good this place was. We had the option to sit by the fireplace, which would have been a romantic option if it wasn’t in the middle of the summer. The fresh bread tasted like it just came out of that fireplace. The lamb was tasty as well as the filet mignon. The desserts were very good as you would expect from a French establishment.
