The have Shed Mountain Ale on draft here! I hadn’t had this beer since college, when we would stop on the way back from Stowe to fill our growlers with this magic liquid. I don’t know how long I wanted for my food, I enjoyed every second sitting at that bar drinking. The wings are definitely different. Smothers in sauteed onions, and charred in some places. I love onions, so these were up my alley, but not what you would typically expect from an order of wings. The pizza was good– not my favorite, but not bad. We went onion/pepper/sausage, and if I remember correctly the sausage was ground sausage chunks. I just can’t stop thinking about that beer, it’s clouding my memory of everything else.

The pizza was great. Olives and prosciutto. Alyson was our waiter and she was very attentive and polite.

This place was very small as it was part of a mini strip mall across from Menlo Park Mall. There were lots of pictures of different celebrities that I really enjoyed. The atmosphere was nice. The service was very good. Our waitress was very attentive while the food came out in a timely matter. The large Philly Cheesesteak pizza was ordered($ 21?). I saw a sign on the wall that said the crust was cooked well done no matter what. I was unsure how I would feel about this, but the crust was my favorite component of the pizza. I prefer crust to be less crispy, but I enjoyed the well done crust here. The rest of the pizza was decent at best. I did not think the caramelized onions went well with the beef. They were too just sweet. The beef was okay. I thought it was a little too hard. Will I go back? Ah…

For some odd reason the pizza from the Anthony’s in Englishtown taste much better than the one in Edison. Tried it a few times just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy and I am now convinced, if you want the best coal fired pizza go to the Anthony’s in Englishtown.

Been here twice. I would come here more often, but a bit far away and very crowded at the dinner hour. Great wings and great pizza. They are prepared in a coal fired oven, and thus have a taste that I really enjoyed. Couple that with a pleasant wait staff, and reasonable prices. Not much here to dislike.

Waste of money. The concept is great, well done crispy pizza but it failed my taste test drastically. The sauce they used on the pizza tasted like cheap ketchup. The crust is OK but overall flavor was disgusting. I’m a huge pizza fanatic but this place is a huge let down. I was also told the wings were great but they were small and lacking meat. No fountain drinks and you pay for overpriced drinks individually. Overall way too pricey for below average pizza and wings. Maybe other locations are better and the cooks messed up the sauce recipe the night I was there because I don’t get it.

We talk about going to this place every time we go to Menlo mall. But, my wife and I don’t need to go back to Anthony’s. Early dinner on a Sunday, not too busy. Brought our 3 year old too. Didn’t know they don’t have any sort of kids menu and no pasta of any kind there. Ordered the small traditional pizza, a salad, wings and meatballs. The pizza is fine. Not spectacular, not bad. The salad and wings were just shy of needing to be sent back. The salad had so much oil/vinegar dressing it was 3 millimeters deep in the bottom of the wide bowl(it submerged the fork). The wings were so charred on at least on side of each piece that I couldn’t serve them to my kid like that. So, I had to rip whatever pieces of meat I could off each wing and make him a plate. At least we ordered the wings with the caramelized onions on the side, there were raisin size chunks of char/ash in them. Luckily we weren’t planning on eating much of the onions anyways. The meatballs aren’t bad, but are overpriced at $ 3+ per meatball. We’ll stick with Joey D’s in Metuchen or Fabio’s in Scotch Plains for our pizza. We’d tell you to, too.

Great food, service meh. Ordered wings, plastic strip in the onions. Manager promptly came over and comped the wings — unnecessary and classy. That gesture was undone by our server who just was not on top of her game. Slow to bring our beers even though the restaurant was quiet, but that’s ok. Ordered a medium plain pizza, didn’t want long hots on the entire pizza, wanted one single pepper on the side. Pizza came out, no pepper — she forgot to put in the order. Waited, nothing. Ate more than half the pizza when a full side order of long hots was delivered for twice the price of what it would have cost to have the topping put on the pizza. Server said she would take care of it, didnt.

Just because it’s coal fired doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily good. I found that out the hard way. Really bad pizza for really expensive prices. I wouldn’t recommend it. The pizza was soft, and super salty. It was more bread than sauce and cheese. Sort of tasted like frozen, boxed pizza. I wouldn’t recommend it ever.

Best coal fired pizza around! Atmosphere has an urban feel & is always lively. Craft beer selection changes regularly which makes it fun trying new brews when eating our regular meatball & ricotta pie. Service is always great as well.

This place has good food and the atmosphere is comfortable. It is a little on the pricey side for the servings of food. However it is worth it. I will be going again.

The pizza at Anthony’s is absolutely fantastic! I am thisclose to giving them 5 stars, but I have to try a few other things on the menu first. I really don’t understand why I don’t eat pizza here more often. It probably has something to do with my hatred for being anywhere near the Menlo Park Mall. As you will see posted on every wall, Anthony’s only makes their pizzas«well done,» which is the only way I order pizza when I’m out. If the crust isn’t charred and crispy, and cheese isn’t brown and bubbly, and the pepperoni isn’t curled and crunchy, well, then you’re already a second-tier pizza joint in my opinion. The coal fire oven is no joke. You just peer inside and see the glowing coal embers and know how scorching hot it is inside there. This is key to cooking up some of the best pizza in the world. The thin, but not-so-thin-I-think-I’m-eating-a-cracker, crust is just perfect. The edges get a perfect black char every time, and it’s the kind of char you can eat because the crust is soaked with a heavy dose of olive oil that keeps it moist and flavorful beneath it’s burny edges. It’s just so good. I love it. Pretty much everything about the pizza is in line with how I like my pizza. The sauce is a little sweet, but not Sciortino’s sweet. The cheese is layered on in perfect proportions to the other ingredients. Perhaps the only thing that makes me slightly disappointed is the pepperoni. They use the typical thin-sliced pepperoni here, like the kind you find in the supermarket. I would much prefer thick slices sheared off a long, fresh link, like they do at Di Fara in Brooklyn or Star Tavern in Orange. With a coal oven this hot, those thick discs would be so perfect on top of this pizza. Extra points for having a full bar and a great collection of Hollywood and Rat Pack memorabilia. Service at this location is also excellent. All in all, it’s a great value for your money. Get ready to see a lot more of me and my family, Anthony. Because we’re coming back very soon!

Who doesn’t like crispy pizza? It’s probably one of my favorite pizza places around. Their wings are also very good. Their pies are generally smaller than what you may be used to. Curbside pickup is a nice plus.

Came here last night for late dinner with the family. Meatball with ricotta cheese Pizza is very tasty. I love my pizza well done, so this was a great place to eat. Chicken wings amazing! With the bread and the BBQ ribs with dry rub was fantastic. Both of the meat fell off the bone. Staff was super friendly and place is clean at all times! We’ll be back!

*Must Try: the meatballs! Big, saucy meatballs served with bread. *coal fired pizza does not taste like the«normal» pizza slice, but is definitely worth trying. *choose from a variety of toppings! I had mine with mushrooms and prosciutto. They do not skimp out on anything. *very friendly and attentive service.

A Big NO to this place

Over cooked and burnt crust… pizza tasted like burnt toast. If I didn’t take it home and checked it there, I would have sent it back.

I can not believe it took me this long to get here oh and why did I not think of this first! A pizza place that only does well done pies, combined with a full bar! Bourbon and a beer baby. Life was good! I had the broccoli rabe, sausage pie. Very tasty. The 12″ pizza was a good size. Beware of the small calzone. It is enough for two guys. Service was decent, pie was excellent. Bourbon was bourbon.
