Nick’s is much more than a place to get a great haircut… it’s an extended family, a throwback to the pure barber experience, a true«neighborhood» establishment. From the old style barber pole to the hand-taken pictures of Italian countryside and the friendly barbershop banter, Nick’s is a feel-good kind of place. Four generations of men in my family have been going exclusively to Nick’s. As the story goes, my grandfather was Nick’s first haircut as a brand new, 17 year old barber. Pop, or «Crazy Joe» as they called him at Nick’s, went there his entire life and, when he was in a nursing home and couldn’t travel there anymore, Al went to the nursing home to give him his signature buzz cut instead. That’s the type of connection, friendship and«family» feeling that you get as a regular at Nick’s. My father, my husband and now my 3 year old son all still only go to Nick’s Place. Even though Nick is still giving amazing hair cuts, everyone there is fantastic so they can go to anyone. The whole staff knows you when you walk in and, unless you want a change-up, you don’t even have to say a word and they know exactly how you like your hair. I’ve only talked about the men, but women are regular customers as well and are sure to be happy with their results. In a time where the service industry feels more like an assembly line, Nick’s stands out by providing excellent service while maintaining that elusive«family, neighborhood» experience.
