I am so hooked on teavana tea. Totally addicted to Maharaja chai oolong and samurai chai mate oolong tea, blended together. I wander in frequently to taste all the great samples they provide. They blend the teas to the correct proportions for you. The smell of cinnamon is so comforting and relaxing. After all cinnamon is so good for you. They have great tea cups, tea makers and many great gifts to give any tea lover. The tea is a little costly but I haven’t been able to find a blend like this from other loose tea places. The products they sell such as the gifts, I have found them cheaper on line. Teavana is owned by Starbucks.

So… quick story. Few years back, my wife wanted to get me some nice tea for Christmas. The manager there was quick to up-sell her on some fancy storage containers. Being poor, she very politely told him that she couldn’t afford the containers, but would take the tea. The manager was incredibly snarky with her, so much so that she decided to call corporate on him. She first got the his supervisor, who basically blew her off and tried to make excuses for this asshat manager’s behavior. Determined to see this through, my wife got through to, of all people, the regional vice-president of Teavana. After all that trouble, the best this scumbag did was offer her a $ 10 gift certificate. Yeah… We’re not the type of people to demand freebies, but this was a little paltry considering how rude this guy was, don’t you think? It’s been a few years, and I’m sure that fuck has been rotated out of Teavana in Menlo Mall, but I have not ventured in there since. When I did go in there, I remember how ravenous the employees were to get you to buy. That type of thing turns me off. I know it’s a capitalist economy, but you can be less vampiric, I think. To be sure, the tea smelled and tasted wonderful, but I will never buy their product, not after the horrible treatment we received. Sadly, I hoped Teavana would have folded by now. Anyone reading this want to help me boycott this place?

I love Teavana and have not drank any other tea since I found this place. loose leaf tea is just the best. This location was nice and had a good selection considering it was after Christmas and still have a holiday sale going on. The partner was helpful in helping me to select a new tea for my friend to taste. The store was very clean and the service was prompt for the staffing they did have. The only negative was that there were not as many samples as there normally are available and the hot tea they has was cold :( Also this is random but how does the fast up beat Salsa music fit in with the relaxed tea ambiance I am use to. Great place and would recommend :)

There are few other places in suburbia where you can buy quality loose teas, and the lack of competition allows the places that offer them to draw up arbitrarily high prices. The quality of the teas and accessories for sale was high, however. If price is no object, you probably can’t go wrong.
