INCREIBLE! My favorite place on the Island. I would recommend this to everyone! Both the veggie melt and The Cow are amazing. My family goes here every time we’re on the Island. The owner and staff are all really friendly.

While in Edisto Island, SC this is s must. Always enjoy breakfast here. It does take patience and a bit of time as there is always a wait and every table stays occupied. Servers are always friendly and eager to make sure you enjoy your meal. Just don’t expect your food quickly as I’m sure the small kitchen is overwhelmed with orders backing up. This is worth the wait. I’ve been several times and the food is always good, orders are always correct, and needs are are anticipated. As busy as they are I don’t have to worry about my server returning to check on us or bringing drink refills without even having to ask. Way to go Sea Cow!!! See you next trip out!

We always hit the Seacow on our way home and it never disappoints. I can help but ordering the Moo Mania every time too; home fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, onions, sausage gravy and a biscuit, what a great meal to start a road trip. Service is always very quick and they are always busy in the morning, but we only had a short wait. There are also a couple of shops close by in case you need a last minute souvenir for someone.

Edisto Island doesn’t have many breakfast options to begin with, but that’s not why you come to here. We took a chance on the Seacow on a Sunday morning. My wife and I both ordered omelette’s with grits, toast/biscuit and coffee. The reason for the one star is because:(1) overpriced for quality of food. Omelette’s came out warmish, grits were okay/typical, bacon was nice and crisp in my omelette(a bright spot in the meal), but the food just doesn’t justify the price. If we would’ve paid $ 4 – 5 less on the check, I would say that would be about the right price for the food.(2) the cheese in the omelet wavered somewhere between melted and not –chewy really;(3) service was pretty inconsistent. We saw our waiter maybe twice, in fact I had to go and find our waiter to get the check;(4) the coffee was just plain terrible. If you like coffee, don’t order it here. Other thoughts:(1) portions were large-ish;(2) if you do decide on the Seacow, get there before 8:45am to beat the crowd for breakfast. Again, not too many breakfast spots on the island, I think 2, maybe 3.

Any review for Edisto Beach much acknowledge that the choices are thin… very thin. That being said the sea cow should rank one or two. Reasonable food, priced a little high, but again, choices are thin. You will need to eat there more than once if you are staying for a week. Other stops will be disappointing to say the least. The other better choice is McConkey’s jungle shack.

This is the second time we went to this place. The first time, we were just the two of us, but this time we brought our dog. This place is so dog friendly! All the servers stopped to pet our dog, they brought her water and gave her a little treat. Both times we stopped here for brunch, and it was amazing! They usually have a wait on weekends, but there’s a neat little surf shop that you can browse at, and when it’s your turn they come in there and call you if they can’t find you outside. For my breakfast, I ordered the homemade pancakes with pecans. They were delicious! My husband ordered the Moo Mania which was amazing too! The servers made sure our glasses and coffee were full.

My family has been coming here for a looooong time, and I look forward to eating here every year we come. The menus are different for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, so you can try your hand at Sea Cow every time of the day and probably won’t get sick of it. Everything that I have had is delicious and plenty of food for the price that you pay. All around great experience with really friendly workers! — If you do come during peak meal times just be aware that you could wait for up to an hour, so you may want to send a willing family member to go ahead of your group to get on the wait list —

Breakfast crowd was a mix of locals and vacationers like us. Plenty of crispy bacon included on the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit! Biscuit was nice and salty and held together thru the last bite. Coffee was great. Service came with a smile — quick delivery on the order. No sweet breakfast items like muffins or cinnamon rolls, and surprisingly no local jellies? Just little packets.

Ordered the Moo Mania today & it was delicious! Service was slow but they were pretty busy. We received our drinks the same time as our meal.

Quaint little place with great breakfast! This place is a local favorite and for good reason. They serve huge portions and everything was fantastic. The grits were super creamy and seasoned perfectly. The pancakes were nice and fluffy with an almost funnel cake flavor. We used just a smidge of jelly and they were fabulous. The sausage patties were tasty and didn’t look like hockey pucks. The seating is a bit tight and you’d better get there early… they open at 7am and by 7:45 there is a pretty strong crowd gathering outside. They offer lunch and dinner but we didn’t try any of that. Make sure to visit this local establishment while you’re visiting Edisto. If you don’t, you’ve done yourself a huge disservice.

Breakfast at a small beach town is one of the best things you can do in the morning. Seacow is a small restaurant but there are seatings on the patio and around the back are picnic tables. There’s going to be a short wait but there are shops to browse and kill time. Parking is tight and on gravel. The food is pretty decent. I had two eggs over medium with a side of buttered grits and grilled shrimps. I was expecting large tiger shrimps for some reason. Then again this is just breakfast. It was the little pink shrimps. Still tasty though. The coffee was very weak. A huge plus was the food came out fast.

My favorite restaurant on the island! Went here with my family. There was a ton of us and they were still very hospitable and got our food out quickly considering there was 20 of us. It is a small place and has a great environment. The flounder was great we loved the burger and shrimp as well. Everything was great!

The place is lovely but the food is average. We had lunch there and all the choices were limited to fried food. The waiter was nice though and allow my friend to have a blackened vs fried fish in her sandwich. I had a spinach salad with shrimp, but didn’t want to have a bagel with it, so asked for instead of bagel have more spinach; it didn’t look as any more spinach was added. If you would like to have the meal outside the place is suitable.

Had breakfast outside with a nice breeze. Moo-Mania, which was a layer hash browns, with scrambled eggs, sautéed mushroom and onions and smothered with white sausage gravy. My friend had 2 eggs over medium, one yoke was broken, can’t be perfect all the time. Side bacon which was rather saltier than normal, and hash browns were delicious. A side of grits, and I must say those grits were delectable! I would recommend this place!

Came here for Sunday brunch with a party of 6. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table which is understandable. The sad thing was was our waitress. I don’t know what was wrong with her but we had to repeat our drinks orders 3 times and she just seemed out of it! We had to wait at 10 minutes to get our drinks back and then waited another hour for our food which was just okay. I got the omelet which I’m really not sure why I got it because in my opinion omelets never have any really good taste/flavor its just meh… And to top off our crazy waitress she thought it was appropriate to fix her hair in front of all the customers. WTF

Not bad for dinner. Everything is fried. They don’t serve beer/wine on Sundays. Kids pizza served in a Frisbee, crust was lousy., but kids ate to get to the Frisbee. Will go back to try breakfast. Fresh pies were nice.

Sea Cow is the place to go for breakfast on the island. It’s a place the locals go to on a regular basis. Biscuits & gravy and omelettes are great. We ate dinner there for the first time tonight in all of years of coming to Edisto. Dinner was good. I just got a burger but it was really tasty. Fries are beer battered and have a touch of sweetness to them. My wife got the low country boil very pleased with it except sausage was spicy. My father-in-law got the blackened tuna and was pleased with it. They have homemade pies made by one of the women there and they’re delicious. I had the peanut butter silk slice & my wife had the butterscotch pecan. Definitely made from scratch and yummy.
