The donation center here is great. The employees are so fast and unload everything for you if you need the help. They acceptable recycling, too! The inside of the store is crowded and smells bad. Like, thrift stores smell funky but this one just smells bad. I don’t recall it smelling like urine when I first visited 3 years ago, so they have some major cleaning they need to do. Aside from that, they have the largest selection of thrifty goodness this side of Edmond, with plenty of adult and children’s clothing. The shoes, toys, and furniture section is hit or miss. The book section can have some fun finds! They accept credit cards, and they have some kind of rewards card program(I’ve never used it but the cashier always asks if I have one).

I’m a thriftaholic so of course I’ve found my favorite locations. Being in Edmond, this location gets a lot of high quality pieces. I’ve found lots of new with tags items and a few from my favorite designers. The last trip in I spent $ 60 and walked out with maybe five shorts, six dresses and a few skirts. One of the skirts I found new and much more expensive at a few consignment shops the same day, I’m so glad I snagged it at goodwill! Like any thrift stores, it depends how often you come and when you come. I didn’t find anything that was the color of the day, but with the season changing I could tell people had recently cleaned out their closets. This is a great location and should be checked out often!

Everything is dirty and smells like pee, BUT nothing a good wash can’t fix. Especially considering it’s all dirt cheap. And the employees are friendly and helpful. I don’t know if it was because I went on a friday morning or what, but there was an interesting amount of older people roaming the isles. It made me wonder if there was a seniors discount I was missing out on. 90% of the people were 60+! Not complaining, just peculiar.

Goodwill has a treasure trove of clothes, household goods, and everything in between. It is like a thrift store, except all the proceeds go to job training and job placement for people with disabilities. As someone who works daily with disabled individuals, I have seen the positive effects that Goodwill has on people’s livelihoods who may not have ever been offered work else where. Enabling someone to experience a feeling of self worth and pride in work is a wonderful thing. It really is a great program and company that I am happy to support. I utilize Goodwill the most for it’s donation center, which also accepts materials for recycling. It is so simple; they come out to your car and pick up what you are donating and then give a recipe for tax deductions. I live in OKC, so cardboard recycling is not supported by the City like the rest of the materials in my blue recycling bin, so I bring all my cardboard to Goodwill.
