One of my favorite spots in Edmonds — love the creative food!

I got the Miso Salad and Curried Red Yukon Potatoes. Salad was wilty and flavorless, for 8 dollars I was very unimpressed. Red potatoes were bland and dry, though the price was a bit more reasonable. Overall I would not come back, and would not recommend.

We love coming here! Every single meal we have ever gotten here has been stellar! We always start with the miso salad and ahi tacos! On wed nights they have the most interesting man in the world playing guitar! The staff is always awesome and happy to see you. It certainly is a diamond in the rough(strip mall)

We had dinner here couple weeks ago and I was surprised how good the food was. Hubby and I shared the crispy Calamari, Snap Pea Lemon Risotto and Ahi Tuna tacos. The food was deliciously good. I would definitely come back here again and try the Crab Poke bowl.

It was a long day, trying to negotiate the price of a car from Magic Toyota(we didn’t end up buying here), and we were really tired. Tired and hungry. Sad from the attempt, we came here, after I saw the good recommendation from my buddy Sally C. So what stood out? It’s in a strip mall, but that shouldn’t be any surprise, because some of the best food, comes from the smallest shops. What we had was probably finer dining, fusion to be sure. It was Asian inspired, and negatives we saw for the cost of the meal, was quickly overcome with the proportions and taste. The environment was clean, intimate, and probably a great place for families with some disposable income. What we had? We had Braised Beef, and Red Curry Noodle. My girlfriend’s meal, was full of beefy goodness, flavors were there, and seasoned well. It wasn’t salty, as some dishes like hers could get. The Curry Noodle was good, it was full flavor also, nothing especially unique, but tasty. The portions were rather large, and we walked out full and satisfied. We opened with a Seared Ahi, which was decent size, but I would have wanted a little more on my plate. Overall, a great eating experience, and worth the time. Others have noted the happy hour, and I have yet to try it… which I will be back to try.

Ordered 7 different items 6 from happy hour and 1 from the main menu. All dishes where prepared with perfection. Ordered one item again, the dressing was amazing. We called ahead about family seating for happy hour, they gladly accommodated us. I am definitely going to come again.

I came couple times after my first review. The menu has changed and surprisingly everything was good.

Summary: food is amazing but MOSTIMPORTANTLY the crème brûlée is so perfect and wonderful you’ll want it for every meal, but this place gets really crowded so make reservations. Came here on a Friday night at about 7:45 and it was packed. A very nice woman with very curly hair kindly let us know it would be a 45 – 50 minute wait. Unfortunately, my boyfriend hadn’t eaten that day so we had to go somewhere else, but it smelled so good we were determined to come back. Saturday night we got there at about 7:15pm and the same woman let us know that it would be an hour and a half or so before we could be seated, but that seats opened up at the bar if we would take those. We jumped on it and were greeted by Matt, who was prompt and attentive. The food took a little while to come out, but that is as to be expected on a busy night! We got the ahi tacos to share which were fresh and garlicky. My boyfriend got the dojo burger which he loved and I had the risotto with scallops which was delicious! The scallop was cooked a little more thoroughly than necessary but were still buttery. The BEST part, though, was the amazing lemon crème brûlée. I want to be shrunken down to miniature size and live in that lemon crème brûlée. The sugar topping was crisp without having any overly burned bits, and the inside was a cooler temperature without being too cold. It. Was. Perfection. If I had the money I would come back every day for the crème brûlée alone. Cannot stress enough how good it is. A million stars for the crème brûlée. Five stars for the food, five stars for the very kind blonde woman and Matt the bartender.

We had family dinner here on a Monday night and we were pleasantly surprised that there was all night happy hour in the whole restaurant. We tried many items. The sliders were my fave. For entrée I had the brisket and it was SOGOOD. This restaurant is kid friendly too and we’ll definitely be back. So good!

My family was excited to take me here on my last night of my visit! We were able to get in and out for what looked like a VERY popular happy hour. The food was good, I got the red curry and the noodles were just too soggy and overcooked to even pick up with chopsticks. Overall the flavor was a little bland and not quite spicy enough for me even when we asked for extra homemade chili sauce. TIP: if you get a curry dish ask for some Jasmine rice to GO! Pour the rice into the curry when you get home and have a delicious hearty curry rice bowl! The atmosphere was nice and seemed slightly upscale with a PACKED bar for half off wine bottle night. Would come here again to try some of their other dishes but mainly because it was so conveniently located.

I was shocked to find this sneaky but incredibly delightful place! The location doesn’t scream delicious, unique food but Bar Dojo really wins at wonderful surprises! I brought a coworker here for a annual review celebration that turned into an elongated happy hour. Our evening was so successful we decided to host our clients celebration HH. The group of 10 quickly grew to a crew of 25, Bar Dojo handled the whole thing with professional grace. From being able to order food ahead of time, to setting a section of the place for us to gather to getting drink ordered and delivered quickly, their service was impeccable. Even as the party died down the continued to bring out food/beverages as requested. Popular dishes to try: FRENCHFRIES, Dojo Wings with a Kick, the Sliders, Mussels… come a group and plan to share! I’ll be back Bar Dojo!

Courteous friendly service and consistent quality of food. It also helps that we live quite near. So they are one of our default places to eat out! Bartender was helpful in suggesting wine pairings and excellent cocktails.

Let me just say the service was out of this world. The man who seated and waited on us was perfect. He wasn’t pushy, he wasn’t flashy, he just gave us the information we needed and tended to our requests. The food was like nothing I’ve really ordered before so my boyfriend and I just chose chicken katsu and a beef noodle dish. The serving sizes are on the smaller side, and the food is on the expensive side. So yea it’s definitely a Tapas restaurant. The outside isn’t very impressive but the inside is extremely cozy, clean and stylish. We also ordered their Furikake fries but I wasn’t crazy about them. I’m glad I tried it out though. My chicken katsu was wonderful and my boyfriend’s beef dish was sooooo tender and juicy, I don’t even like beef but I thought it was delicious. After dinner I ordered the mochi dessert which was gorgeous and very exotic, it was fun to eat. All their desserts look 5 star! I wanted them all. For both of us, with tip, the bill came to around 40 – 50 dollars so… come here if you want to splurge at a cool place and try something really different. I’d come here again for a special date night.

OMG, how is this place in a little strip mall in Edmonds??? When you walk in, it’s all dimmed lights, wood paneling, and elegance. A complete and very welcome 180. Love that this place is on the northside and is easily accessible. And parkable. The food here is delicious. It’s Asian fusion and everything on the menu looks good. They have a solid happy hour menu, as well as a separate taco menu! And great cocktails made by an awesome, knowledgable bartender. The servers are also very good with helping you pick out a drink to please your palette. And alcohol intake needs. I got the Geisha, which is a cucumber forward cocktail with vodka, ad it was light, refreshing, and lovely. The red curry chicken tacos are very delicious. I was wary at first– curry, pickles, taco???– but it works! And it was gone very fast. Will definitely check out the other tacos on the menu. The crispy poke cakes are also really yummy– the poke is ONTOP of a crispy rice cake, for clarification. The cake could have used some flavoring, but the tuna was on point. I came with two friends and we ordered three entrees to share: the risotto with lemon and snap peas(we added chicken to it), the braised short rib, and the crab and tuna bowl. All of them were absolutely delicious. The crab and tuna bowl came with a lovely, moist avocado rice, lots of veggies, perfectly fried egg, and crispy garlic. It was perfection in my mouth. The short rib was tender enough to cut with a fork, paired wonderfully with mashed potatoes and fried onions and greens. A great contrast to the tuna bowl. Then, there was the creamy rich risotto with mushrooms and chicken and lemon and peas. We nearly rolled out of there, with our leftovers in a takeout bag. Definitely looking forward to coming again!

I have wanted to swing by for some time. This is a great little Asian fusion place. There is a lot on the menu: noodles, apps, burger, etc. We started with the new Ahi tacos. They are Ahi Poke in fried wonton taco shell. They were really good. I had the burger, no cheese. It comes with blistered Shishito peppers on top that, of course, put in the burger. It was a bit too juicy and sloppy, but had great flavor. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It is a bit pricey for the location and what you are getting.

3.5 stars, I’ll round up because I’m a fan of the desserts menu here. I came to Bar Dojo not realizing that it’s literally a couple doors down from what was formerly a phở restaurant my family used to frequent. The location is not ideal as there’s nothing fancy about this complex. There’s a bodega next door and an aging teriyaki joint overdue for a revamp on the other side. Sorry, but yucky location. Once I stepped inside, I almost completely forgot that we’re in a strip mall. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. We had made a reservation for a Friday evening dinner, but we would’ve been fine without one too. We ordered a few dishes, since we figured the plates would be smaller. Some of the dishes, like the pork belly tacos, were awesome and some, the like chicken curry noodle soup, were just flat. If the dishes had been more consistent, this would definitely be a solid 4. It seems that they update their menu seasonally, because I wasn’t able to find some of the Unilocalers’ favorites. They do a great job with desserts, so definitely leave some room for desserts! I’ve come here just for desserts when I don’t feel like driving down all the way to Seattle after a casual dinner in the ‘burb. I like that their desserts are not too sweet and perfectly portioned(read: small-ish) because I have no self-control when it comes to sweets. Service can be a bit slow but always friendly. Definitely a great addition to the area.

The atmosphere here is nice but a bit loud because it is a small space with many tables. The service was slow, took 15 minutes to get our appetizer and 5 min later our waitress comes back saying she forgot our edamame. Took at least 40 minutes before our food was served. Since this place does say small dishes and fusion I was expecting the food to be as good as the restaurants in downtown and the service to be a little faster. The food did look really appetizing but lacked flavor in taste. I ordered Sapporo clams and mussels and it came out in a small pot. It did look really yummy at first but then I noticed 2⁄4 pieces of bread were burnt. When I tasted the sauce it just tasted like bland coconut milk. The clams lacked flavor like they were missing something, overall was like clams and mussels in bland coconut milk. It is an entrée, I just wish they served it with something more fulfilling not just 4 pieces of thin bread. At the end I was still hungry and felt like I had a light snack. For the price they charge for these dishes I would expect better service and food than this. Also, it took 15 minutes for us to get our check because our waitress kept going to table to table to help others before coming back to us.

Appetizers only. My sis and I stopped by on our way to a party for a drink and some apps. We were one out of two tables. It’s a nice atmosphere but the menu seemed a little pretentious. How many wines do you really need to pair with Asian food? Service was a 5 Oyster app was a 3 … Didn’t seem fresh(just an odor to it) Chicken wings were a 5 Pork belly tacos were a 5 Probably won’t be back unless I had a special occasion to celebrate… Probably wouldn’t recommend to a friend as there are other better options in the area…

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to come in and try this place. The place is small and the atmosphere is good. There is a full bar. We started with: Edamame(complimentary), Crispy Calamari, Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna, and a bottle of wine. Then individually we ordered Coconut Red Curry Noodle Soup, Lemongrass Beef Noodles, Crab and Poke Bowl and Avocado Rice. We ended with a Screw Pine Brulee. The food was delicious and the portions are good sized, large enough to share, and they do split it into two plates. I’m slightly embarrassed that I didn’t catch our servers name, he did an outstanding job, very personable and engaging. He offered good recommendations when we asked. Our group was interested in coming back and he let us know the weekly specials. They have brunch on the weekends. Tuesdays you get half off wine bottles. They also have a burger night and a taco night, and live music once a week.
