Had a great experience here — last minute booking handled with ease, attentive friendly staff, and beautiful job on my haircut. I have gone to a lot of different places (as I usually follow Groupon deals), but I am loyal to this salon now — best haircut I’ve had. Though I have forgotten the name of the wonderful lady who helped me, she was a much better listener than me and cut my hair to fit my life (with a toddler and newborn) and shaped it to my face perfectly. As soon as I have time and hair to cut, I am going back!

I was referred to the Matthew Robert Salon by a friend, and although it was out of the way for me, I was tired of having to keep explaining what I wanted and being repeatedly disappointed in not getting it. Amanda Nelson has been cutting my hair here ever since — and the first test was a trial of fire, as I just asked her to do something different and make it look good. They have a great and welcoming environment, and I’m in there every three weeks like clockwork.

This salon has the potential for being
a warm and welcoming place. The staff is great, no issues there. The salon itself needs to be remodeled. The environment isn’t warm, relaxing or welcoming. The hard wood floors are bare and the clatter of heels and voices from through out the salon is heard everywhere. The stylists stand on this hard flooring without any padding for their comfort. The interior of this salon is dated. The salon needs remodeling, updated and made to welcome their clients. The music at times is loud and more appropriate for a night club. The owner needs to visit other salons/​spas to experience an environment that is warm, welcoming and one that makes the client feel relaxed and special.

Coming from Santa Barbara, Ca and having my previous hair stylist for for 5 years I had hard time getting the courage to try someone new. I finally did! I got a bayalage done be Erin. She was very polite and friendly, we hit it off! I’m an open book and like for the people that I associate, including hair dressers, nail artist, etc, to do the same. Getting ready to leave, Mathew, the owner of the salon introduced himself. Very professional and quite stylish himself! Overall super experience, def will be keeping Erin as my stylist for years to come!

If you’re looking for experienced and professional hair stylist, this is the place. Exceptional service and charm. They use Wella products which means they receive continuing education regularly. Amanda is amazing, relaxed but keeps your hair her priority through all the shop talk. I’m coming from SoCal and Matthew Robert Salon definitely met, even exceeded my expectations. Do it!

Very great service and so much attention to detail. I had Amanda for my first visit and time passed so quickly because she kept me engaged in awesome conversation. It kept me from worrying about cutting my hair after a year. I was more than happy with the way she cut it. My second visit was with Matt, and he was amazing! Told me what to get and what would look good. He was spot on and was also very great at keeping my mind off of the haircut and it was fun to just sit and listen. The end product I am very happy with. Recommend 100%. Great service!

I have had men’s haircuts from both Erin and Matt for several years at MRS. Easy to schedule an apt, easy to get to and always on time. Great value for the $$$. 5 stars, hands down!

Just moved from LA. I went to the same guy for 10 years and I was very nervous about finding someone up here in Seattle. My mom recommended Matthew and I am so happy! He really listens and makes recommendations based on your concerns and wants. I really love my hair right now. I went in with a laundry list of problems, regrowth after losing hair after pregnancy, a bad bang cut, and just overall dryness and he cut my hair to resolve (or at least help) those issues. Plus he’s just a really nice guy!

I love this salon! Every time I go in, everyone is so friendly. Lindsey is AHH-​MAZING! I can give her an idea of how I want my hair cut, and every time, she makes my hair look better than how I had envisioned it. I have never left there unhappy.

This place is wonderful! I’ve had my hair done a couple times now by the owner, Matthew.
I had heard such great things about him that I let him do whatever he thought was best for me. He gave me the best cut I’ve ever had. He also understood that coloring my hair is something I can only afford once in a while and gave me beautiful highlites with forgiving grow out. He is an artist who loves his work and truly sees what will make you look the best you can. I’ve never seen someone so excited about styling my hair!
I’ve heard great things about the rest of the staff here, too, and get the impression that people who come here come back time and time again. Book in advance, they fill up quickly! Definitely a gem!
