Sunset Cantina

We’ve been season pass holders at snowshoe for 16 years, and we’ve tried all the restaurants. I think this was the best lunch we’ve ever had. I had been here years ago and it took forever. We played it smart and came at about 11:15, so I can’t comment on service times others have had. But it’s 11:45 and we’re happily signing the check.
I’ve been vegan since the early summer, and while I’m really happy to see vegetarian centric reviews, I don’t agree that this place doesn’t have options. They had some great soup and there is a vegan sandwich on the menu. Our server Dustin and the chef were very accommodating of my request to make a taco version of the eggplant sandwich. My only complaint is lack of free chips and salsa. Free chips and salsa is expected at a Mexican restaurant.

Before I became vegetarian, I remember this restaurant was great! But now that i don’t eat meat, I found there are few options for my meal. I wanted fajitas, and normally there are veggie options at most restaurants, but here I could not get the full fajita, as the beans were pre cooked with meat. So I ended up with peppers, onions and rice… I then ordered some cheese sticks with habanero aioli, but they were cooked in the same place chicken was cooked so I couldn’t really eat them. I thought about getting chips and salsa, but then realized it was $ 4 per person, not free like most Mexican places. The service was also a bit slow, and the restaurant was so loud I was almost yelling across the table.
