A gastropub with a West Virginia flare. Has a friendly atmosphere and when we went to dinner they were playing a trivia game. A large selection of beers with two on tap, one stout and one blonde. We had a steak and cheese and rueben. They mostly have sandwiches and flat bread pizzas.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Old Spruce. We came here twice during our stay and were impressed with how good the food is. Excellent Cuban, steak, or Reuben. My wife really liked the Big Green salad with blackened chicken. Chris was the bartender tonight and he also expertly waited on every table — no small feat as this joint is popular with locals and visitors. We enjoyed each visit Chris made to our table as he provided great commentary in his menu suggestions and entertained us with his quick wit. Every restaurant needs a Chris! Cool dude.

We had some wine here after a day on the slopes. Cool place to hang out. The food looked great but it was too early for us to eat.

Great spot for lunch and a beer. I am an IPA fan and I think they had the best selection of beers on the mountain. We ate here twice during a short stay in Snowshoe, great both times. Chili and white bean soup were yummy and very filling. We also tried the smoked trout wrap — sounds weird, but it’s good! Staff was friendly and helpful in choosing food and drink selections! They also have sandwiches and salads in a cooler by the door if you just want to grab and go.

Love coming here. One of the only places on the mountain with a legit selection of craft beer for not-ski-slope prices, and if you catch them on a good day, you can have good access to the wifi! Never let me down.

Great place for lunch and a post ski of ride beer. It is a small space, but they have good food and beer of tap.

Best Cuban I’ve ever had. 3 sandwiches in two days. Service is great. Music is better. Highly recommend it!

Excellent choice of sandwiches and small fares. It’s more of a bar setup but still kids friendly when you use the high tables. The food was better than the other places in the village(usually the typical fried pre made stuff). We had the Reuben, an Asian wrap, chili, quesadillas … Everything was tasty. Nice choice of brews as well.

Nice little bar restaurant with good food and good service. We have been here a few times now over two different stays and found it to be comfy, cozy, and good. They have a decent selection of sandwiches and good selection of beer. Tom W. took care of us and did a great job.

Great place to take a load off. Love their«Lost Cuban» and buffalo chicken dip, keeps me coming back for more with their great beer selection. Owners are locals and make you feel like one too.

We walked in, did not get any service or acknowledgement that we existed. I can’t comment on food and drink as no one could give us anything. It’s not like you have a lot of people to deal with in that small place. I did notice food being cooked in a microwave, I’m glad we left.

Great people and beer, but this place is tiny. Mostly locals that we saw, but all friendly and the bartender recommended a great local black IPA called ‘Mothman’. Good stuff, but the kitchen closes early.

There are 2 parts to this place. The one side is sit down restaurant/bar atmosphere. The other has a countertop bar, few high tops, small bar area. We ate at the countertop bar. It was NYE so seating at the restaurant side was impossible. Our food was good, good selection of beers. However, all the food was pre-made and basically just reheated or served out of a bin at the counter. We had buffalo chicken dip, a corned beef and potato quiche, and loaded baked potato. The food was tasty but the dip and quiche came out of he microwave and the potato out of a quick oven thing. The chili for the potato was labeled out of a bin right in front of us. Though it all was surprisingly tasty. There were 3 craft beers on tap and a good selection of bottled beers. I had Great Lakes Christmas Ale and the boyfriend had Yuengling(bottles). For being confined to a resort, price was good. 3 apps, 3 beers — $ 34. Maybe for the restaurant side the food comes out of the kitchen. I can’t say. It was dinner. I was less than impressed with the microwaving but it wasn’t bad in the end.

I guess I’m bad at packing for ski trips… I always seem to forget something. This year, it was food for lunch. Luckily, we managed to find up a decent lunch place. If you’re looking for a spot to grab a quick bite or a beer, Old Spruce is your place. It’s a pretty small place — there’s a bar, plus a few tables squeezed in next to the windows — but it’s definitely worth a try if you can grab a seat. This is probably one of the better places to grab a meal in the village. My girlfriend and I split a Loaded Baked Potato and the Lumberjack Sandwich. The potato was huge and had generous helpings of chilli, cheese, back and sour cream. The Lumberjack was great, I liked the bread and the BBQ chicken inside was tasty. Also, if you are in the mood for a cold beverage, Old Spruce has a great beer selection with a variety of craft and local brews. We weren’t there for it, but I think happy hour is 4 – 7. Not that the normal prices are bad. Overall, the great food and reasonable prices make Old Spruce a great place to go for lunch. Or happy hour. Or dinner. Heck, they serve breakfast too, though I never got the chance to try it… but I did poke my head in early in the morning. It smelled delicious.
