We stayed at The Lexington Inn in Effingham on our way to PA from OK Aug 12 and again retuning on Aug 17, 2015. Friendly, efficient check-in. New, clean, very nice breakfast area, rooms and beds. We were pleasantly surprised and wished that we could have taken advantage of some of the amenities that we did not have time for like the beautiful indoor pool.

Stayed at this hotel this past weekend(8÷14−8÷15). Yes the rooms were nice, yes everything was upgraded, decent breakfast however my main requirement for a hotel room is to sleep, and that was a big fail. A large group of people(50+) had checked into the hotel for a wedding this same weekend. The first night(Friday) there was running up and down the hallways and doors slamming till well after 10, partying in rooms and the lobby, however was minimized by midnight. No biggie, we assumed everyone was in a happy«there is a wedding tomorrow» mood and hoped it would calm down at a reasonable time.(although the cases and cases of bud light being brought up to the rooms should have been our first sign) Who knew that I would long for the relative quiet of Friday night? Around midnight on Saturday this large group returned and took over the entire hotel(rooms, lobby/breakfast area, pool area) and got down to party. There was constant running up and down in the hallways, slamming doors and general noise coming from the lobby. I don’t mean friendly conversation and a low buzz. I mean elevated voices, yelling, and at least 50 people down in the lobby area. We were just hanging in there hoping to fall asleep when a portion of the crowd spilled outside and partied right outside our windows. Yelling, play fighting, that type of stuff. At 2:00am I called to the lobby and asked if they could keep people inside the hotel or at the very least ask them to stop the screaming and yelling. The clerk seemed unsure and kept asking me if I thought this was a problem. Let me qualify that I am not 100% confident over what the desk clerk said as I could barely hear her as the noise of the crowd was so great. Let’s just say that it had no effect on the people outside, in fact it may have gotten louder. I understand you need to accommodate all of your guests, however shouldn’t there be some basic rules about quiet time after midnight at least? The hotel did have a few conference rooms, so I’m wondering why the clerk didn’t make the decision to at least ask the group to move into one of those? So, If you want to come and party all night without fear of being asked to pipe down this is the place to go. However if you want a decent nights sleep I suggest the hotel across the street, or anywhere in fact.

Very friendly accomodating employees. Clean, newly-built building. The only downside was that walls were too thin. I could literally hear everything the people in the next room were saying. Good enough for a one-night stay.
