Fantastic home cooked food with casual atmosphere! Right by the side of the highway definitely worth a stop next time you’re in Door County.

Great breakfast spot and you get to eat in the cleanest barn ever! Great breakfast served quickly and hot. I had the John Deere. Delicious and large… just right for my appetite. Great and attentive waitstaff. They were always there with coffee or to answer your needs. This was our second time here and we will be back again!

We stopped at the rusty tractor for the first time last year on our way into town, and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a light lunch and we enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and the service

Really cute place, I mean, who doesn’t want eat breakfast in a big red barn?! The food– eh, not terrible but not gourmet. Prices weren’t bad and did I mention that it was super cute?

Came here for breakfast and would definitely come back. Large portions, quick service & delicious food and coffee. We had the John Deere, The Oliver & a pancake as big as a plate. Only thing extra I would have liked was fresh cream for my coffee.

The rusty tractor is a darling, unique, family run café in a cute red barn. They serve really good, genuinely homemade breakfast dishes. The breakfast menu doesn’t offer many options, but that’s not a problem since everything they make looks very yummy. Portions are enormous and prices very affordable. Staff is friendly and the service is great. The John Deere and the scrambled #3 are loaded with tasty cheese and fresh hash browns. On a side note, their black coffee is also good. The rusty tractor is highly suggested for a filling, traditional breakfast stop.

My family and I stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good and the atmosphere was unique. The service was not the door county experience I expected. The server was nothing to write home about and when inquiring if a fried egg could be put on a burger, they said«no, the kitchens closed for breakfast». Yet, we were able to order a Monte Cristo sandwich that was on french toast. Also, employees kept using a side entrance and cold air blew in each time they went in and out. It seems like the entrance was for an emergency exit, so it was peculiar it was being used.

Recommended by Nancy of Country Charm Rentals, the Rusty Tractor supplied a top-notch breakfast with a very colorful and well executed ambiance. Our group of three arrived on an un-crowded weekday and received above average service and personal attention from the(we’re told) always present owners. We all opted for the fall special– pumpkin pancakes. Tasty and filling. None of our group of big eaters was able to clean our plates. The restaurant also has a «country store» complete with tasty fudge and lots of crafts and artwork produced by the owners. I’ll be back on my next trip to Door County.

What a fun and delicious breakfast! We were a party of 6 and arrived on a Sunday around 10:00am. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and enjoyed browsing their little shop. The special of the day was stuffed French Toast with Door County cherries and the chef’s special cherry sauce. Decadently delicious! Their biscuits and gravy was the best we have had on the peninsula. Pancakes were flavorful and light. Great place with wonderful staff!

Great food and plenty of it. Went here for lunch one day and breakfast another. Was not let down either time. The turkey flatbread sandwich was good and the tractor tire pancakes matched up to the size of the plate. Never left hungry.

Great option for breakfast and lots of fun choice. Stuffed French toast, breakfast burrito, clever desserts. They even have candy & fudge for purchase. An old barn with loads of character. Food was average but big servings and friendly service. Skip the biscuits & gravy– very bland. Were accommodating of vegetarian options no problem.

Atmosphere: B Food: B Service: C+ Good solid breakfast fare, which might sound easy but does hard. The building is a barn, which isn’t a bad thing at all – quaint really. Frankly, I liked it and agree with other reviews that it is unpretentious in the best possible way. The Early Riser breakfast is a good deal(two eggs, breakfast meat and toast for $ 4ish). Everyone enjoyed the meal. The only downsides were(1) the coffee wasn’t strong, sort of watery, but a second cup did taste a little better, and(2) the service was slow, our waitress was slow to refresh the coffee, but another waitress or hostess picked up the slack, which was much appreciated. I wouldn’t hestiate to return, but it isn’t the type of place that you plan a trip around – but truthfully, The Rusty Tractor Café is likely comfortable with that.

We own a second home in Door County and have been coming here for almost 20 years, so we know the food scene. This is easily in the top 5 on the peninsula for lunch. Don’t let the hokey name fool you — this place knows how to prepare savory sandwiches and similar lunch fare, along with sweets and baked goods, with the best of ‘em. While you’re waiting for your lunch, browse the antiques and Americana for sale. The service is friendly and more than competent. While not in the heart of one of Door County’s lovely towns, it’s worth the drive, about 8 miles south of downtown Egg Harbor. Also serves breakfast.

I am not sure why the low reviews as this place was AMAZING! The breakfast was awesome and the special of peach covered french toast was incredible. So fresh, not too sweet, it was perfect. The eggs, bacon everything was perfect and the service was great too! we will be back here on our next visit.

If you enjoy tasteless omelettes and gluey, undercooked pancakes accompanied by arena rock on the sound system, this is the place for you. Otherwise, no. Door County has many, many better places for breakfast. Keep looking. Nothing to see here.

sucky food. Ate the eggs with bacon, tasted bland and icky! Hated it. Wouldn’t come here again. Why 2 stars? Because server was nice.

I visited this place due to the two, 5-star reviews. Unpretentious is definitely the word. I suspect that my roasted pork was tender and perfectly cooked earlier in the day. In the evening, it was tough and dry, unfortunately. The flavor was good, but the dryness was disappointing. The mashed potatoes seem real, but the gravy seemed to be from a can. The vegetables were steamed perfectly, but I recognized the mix to be frozen originally. The roll also seemed to be prepared elsewhere. My daughter’s individual pizza was very thin, and also did not look homemade. The service was great, the décor is exactly what you would expect, and the ice cream was awesome. The ice cream is what gives this place an extra star — it was rich, creamy, and delicious. Otherwise, I really can’t recommend it.
