Wow! We just loved this place during our visit to Door County. Amazing atmosphere and service. The food was extraordinary. I had the Chicken Marsala and my husband had the Ribeye… both were delicious, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The tiramisu was out of this world. Egg harbor Sunset drink was delicious too! A truly memorable dining experience. Thank you

Terrible service. We waited 46 minutes for our drinks and another 24 for our dinner. When it finally came mine had to be sent back to be warmed up.

A great restaurant. The food is well prepared and the service is very good. The marinara sauce was particularly good. The portions were generous. The vegetarian minestrone soup was excellent. The kitchen had no problem changing the pasta used in some tissues. I had one issue though. It is hard to find. It is in a small shopping center and not visible from the highway. Better signage is needed.

Great service, knowledgable and attentive. Substantial and quality wine selection reasonably priced. Beautiful ambience. Waitress delivered a mini loaf of warm Italian bread with both butter and dipping oil. I had a side salad of the house special Door Co salad– yum! My entrée was a garlic shrimp scampi & angel hair pasta. Delicious. Too full to get anything off(the very tempting) dessert tray. Will definitely return.

Cheesy! At Pumpkin Fest this past weekend, and didnt feel like eating street faire, so we tried Galileo’s. Bummer. We must not be hitting of the good restaurants in DC, but this was a disappointment. Décor is tacky, not chic italian at all — almost embarrassing. The service was friendly but soooooo slow and neglectful. The food took forever to make! The menu was actually pretty good and had great combinations. I had a cobb salad panini. I have always wished i could get a sandwich with my favorite things from a cobb salad, and here it was. Not too bad. I also liked they mentioned that they used fresh ingredients without preservatives and artificial colors– Big plus! Overall, not my favorite– décor and service turned me off. But food different. Wont go back or recommend.

Had a delicious dinner. When you walk in the place, It may appear a bit formal. But not the case. This is what Door County dining is intended to be… plush but totally comfortable. So comfortable that my husband had shorts on and the Packers were on the television in the«to die for» comfy bar. The food was sensational and the menu had an abundance of choices. Great service, great décor, amazing food and a definite addition to my favs!

I hope this was just a very off night, but frankly the food was not any good at all. My wife and I stopped for an early supper. I had Manicotti Bolognese and she ordered Eggplant Parmesan. These quite different dishes tasted pretty much the same, and the taste was not pleasing. The eggplant was not layered and almost certainly had not been baked. There was one(!) slice of eggplant on a bed of overcooked congealed pasta with some cheese on top and a mediocre tomato sauce. No taste of eggplant whatsoever. Very heavy and starchy. The Manicotti was just as bad. In fact the pasta was not even manicotti. It was shaped more like penne and far to small to stuff. They didn’t even make the effort to do so, and just glopped a tablespoon of ricotta on top. The far too thick sauce was more like sloppy joe than bolognese, and the pasta(again – not manicotti) was badly overcooked and completely lacked texture and flavor. All this for about $ 50, which included a glass of acceptable house wine for my wife. I will not be returning.

My husband and I went to Galileos looking for a fine dinning supper to start our vacation in Door County. Although food and service were not horrible we did leave disappointed and would not return again due to our other excellent dining experiences that week. Our waitress was a little behind getting to our table and apologized for the timing since she was just given two tables. We each ordered a glass of wine and shared and an appetizer, the crab cakes. We waited about ten minutes and she bought our app and bread to the table. It would have been nice to have the bread sooner since we were already hungry when we sat down. We also had a hard time separating the pieces and made a big crumb mess on our table. The crab cakes however were really delicious. They ended up being the best part of the meal. For our entres, I didn’t think the menu was very unique or had anything special to offer. Seafood pasta, lasagna, alfredos, etc. My husband ended up choosing the Shrimp Stefanie which he found the white wine sauce runny and the shrimp a bit rubbery. It also left him with garlic breath for the rest of the night even after brushing his teeth twice. After being informed their alfredo sauce was homemade and very good — I went with the fettucchini alfredo. I was very disappointed when a bowl of alfredo soup with fettucchini noodles arrived at the table. Not only was it way too runny, I also didn’t think there was anything special with the sauce. In summary, there are much better places to go in Door County. The only thing we would go back for were the crab cakes and even those would probably be just as good if not better elsewhere. Basically, don’t waste you’re time at this mediocre establishment.

I have added an entry for Galileo’s at Liberty Square Shops because although it shares management with the Bistro at this same location, this really is an entirely separate restaurant. There was a lot of buzz in the area about Galileo’s and I had to try this restaurant, and I am happy that I did. This restaurant can best be described as an upscale Italian dining room. Although the dress is pretty casual, as is the case most everywhere in Door County, this clearly attempts to be one of the fine dining establishments in the area. I dined here on a slow night in the late fall and found the service to be attentive. The menu and wine/drink list are not exactly extensive, but on the other hand, not limiting. The entrees are all a-la-carte. I ordered the Baked Seafood Alfredo and it was one of the most well balanced Italian seafood dishes I have ever had. I had a side green salad which also was well prepared. I have seen other reviews for Galileo’s and some of the criticism, especially with respect to the inconsistent quality may be fair, but I did not witness such problems. I simply would wish that the atmosphere and the prices were a little more on the«casual» side and I would visit more frequently.
