Stopped for some ice cream after dinner and thought it was excellent. Great variety of flavors, very generous portions and friendly staff. I would highly recommend.

This store has some very yummy chocolate! For $ 2 each we bought two truffles: a pb chocolate and a dark salted carmel. The pb egg-shaped truffle was amazing! Eat it quick, it will melt in the warm sun!

Love this place! Awesome coffee and desserts, go wild! There is even a coffee sample section which is a lot of fun. They also put out jams and apple butters, things like that. MMmmmmmm!

The Chocolate Chicken is a cute little shop that sells an assortment of treats, coffee, and things that are unique to Door County. On our most recent trip, my husband and I purchased breakfast sandwiches, which were pretty good. We also purchased a bottle of cherry juice and some Door County cherry hand lotion. Things can be somewhat pricey(it is Door County, after all), but it is still worth checking out. We will stop in again the next time we are in the area.

Cost a lot of money for a smoothie that was made from grocery prepackaged processed concentrated juice and ice. It was said on the menu«kale, carrot, celery, etc, basically all the fresh wholesome veggie ingredients. I made the order. As I watched it, they poured some condensed juice from a 32 ounce plastic bottle that looked like you can get at Jewel for $ 5.00, mix with ice and blend it. It tasted like high fructose corn syrup with artificial flavor.

How can you NOT stop at a place called Chocolate Chicken? As a coffee fiend(carry-over from my days in Seattle), I’m always on the lookout for good coffee shops. This makes the list. They have an assortment of treats(truffles, chocolate chickens, and the like), plenty of coffee, and a local honey/jam shop in the back. I ordered the Honey Bee(white chocolate, honey, and cinnamon latte) and it was DELISH. Usually, I drink my coffee black, but sometimes to just want to treat yourself. Meanwhile, in the honey/jam section, there were coffee tasting sections. If you like a bold, dark roast, the«Black Satin» coffee(it’s listed as «Black Satan» on the menu) is your go-to. Deeply rich in sight and smell, this is the strong stuff people dream of when they’re looking for a big-bodied coffee. They also had the flavored coffee«Jamaican Me Crazy» which also comes in decaf. That came off as a medium roast, with almost an amaretto note to it. Will need to get a cup of that whilst I’m in the area. Plenty of sweets to choose from, and plenty of coffee and teas to keep you awake to try them all.

We go here for the bean coffee! Highlander grog is our favorite! We bought fudge for the first time and it was very good!

Very disappointed. Being this place is in Door County, with a cool name and it was expensive — I thought it would be a hip, fresh place to get a smoothy. Oh, what a cruel joke. What a horrible disappointment. I know there are worse things in the world, but as far as 1st World problems go, while on vacation, this ranks right up there with single ply toilet paper and no ice in the hotel dispenser. My wife ordered the veggie smoothy that was supposed to have kale, cucumber, carrots and whatnot. We were waiting for the employee to pull out the ingredients and blend them up and found ourselves shocked that it came from a labeled plastic bottle that looked like the kind you would buy in the juice isle of a grocery store! My blueberry smoothy was basically the same — born from a bottle. The wall menu lists out the ingredients and you think they are going to make something fresh from scratch. That doesn’t happen. It goes from the apparently store-bought bottle to a blender with ice, but you’re charged high-end prices. It was surprising. I mean, it wasn’t as surprising as the time I was in a checkout line and the guy in front of me had three items in his cart — 1) a bicycle pump, 2) an art canvas and 3) an enema bag. Still, it was shocking in a white-collar-on-vacation-in-Door-County kind of way. Expensive and squirted from a bottle. Yeah… It went into the trash.

Had the best door county strawberry shake for dessert last night. My husband had the caramel one with double espresso. He was in heaven.

Our family will soon be headed up to Door County for our annual spring trip, especially since it’s been another«way too» long winter! Looking forward to stopping by our favorite coffee and candy shop to see what’s new this year. We really love the Chocolate Chicken. I’m guessing that we’ve been stopping at the shop for about 25 years now. Oh, how time has flown! Good thing the Chicken can’t spread her wings. We wouldn’t want her to fly too far from downtown Egg Harbor! Our last trip to the Door & Chocolate Chicken was during Egg Harbor’s Pumpkin Patch festival on Columbus Day weekend. It was true Pumpkin Mania Crazy, but we sure had FUN! I swear our family tried just about every pumpkin item the Chicken had to offer: Coffee, Latte, Fudge, Truffles, and my personal favorite, Pumpkin Ice Cream. To my surprise, my hubbie even enjoyed a Pumpkin Hot Chocolate. Who ever would have thought the two flavors would taste so good together. With the cooler temps of fall in colorful Door County, it was the perfect drink to keep us going. Pumpkin Patch wkend in Egg Harbor can get a little crazy, but the weather was great during last fall’s event and it was great to see everybody walking the streets(which are closed off & bypassed for this fun annual event). The Chocolate Chicken café was packed, but with the additional seating across the hall, it was the perfect place to hang out and check our phone messages(free WiFi) before heading back outside to enjoy the events. I think they even named the new sitting room the Chicken Coop… how appropriate. We took some funny family photos in front of the coop’s chalkboard and, as usual, with the huge chicken that has been standing outside to greet us for years! We love beginning and ending the seasons in Door County and love to shop at the Chocolate Chicken. You gotta check out their cool coffee mugs. We put a one-pot bag of flavored coffee inside each of the mugs we purchased as Xmas gifts last year and the recipients thought their gift was totally Awesome! Not to mention that it gave us an excuse to stop by the Chocolate Chicken for one last pick-me-up before heading back home. See ya soon, chicky… cluck-cluck !

The Chocolate Chicken has the best coffee and blended drinks around, amazing fudge and ice cream, and the cutest ceramic mugs and memorabilia. They even have cute little artisan candies. Usually, their staff goes above and beyond to make sure that their customers are satisfied, though during my 2012 visits, I was less then happy with the way that I was treated by staff. On my first visit, I said hi to the older woman behind the counter and remarked that it was a nice day, then continued with my order. I smiled pleasantly and was quite friendly and only received a look from the woman in question who looked at me as if I was from Mars or something. Secondly, the last time that I was there, my order was boxed up by a rather unfriendly young blonde girl. Upon taking my order back home, I found that more than half of it was missing! Since I live in Chicago, calling to complain wouldn’t have served much of a purpose, other than to chasten an employee who probably wouldn’t remember the situation by the time I called anyway(additionally, the store was closing in just a couple of days for the winter) so I’m giving Chocolate Chicken a tentative 5-star review assuming that the owners simply aren’t aware of some of the issues they have with employees, and that I’ll continue to have pleasant or at least satisfactory encounters with said employees in the future. Note: When I was there in September of 2011, I was treated SO well by the staff. Although they had lines literally around the store, into the hallway and out the door, the employee in question even made me a drink for free when my order was processed wrongly(by no fault of the nice young man who actually took my order, but because of an unfortunate mixture of extreme busyness and simple human error). Overall, I’ll definitely be back! I love love love the coffee at the Chocolate Chicken! June 29th, 2015: I do want to note that the owner has always gone above and beyond for me. He really knows how to run his business! I always enjoy saying hi to him and his wife. They helped me out last summer too when the Chocolate Chicken shirt I bought lost all of its dye by giving me a new one, gratis! I love the small business environment here in Door County. As a small business owner myself, I always enjoy the level of service and attentiveness.

Neither the coffee, nor the ice cream is anything amazing, but the place is so darn cute, and the help so friendly, that it merits at least three stars. The cleanliness and the ability to walk out onto the beautiful pier in back with your treat seals the deal for us– ok, along with the name. Really, how can you not love a place called«Chocolate Chicken»? We will continue to stop there first whenever we roll into Egg Harbor.

The Chocolate Chicken has been in Egg Harbor for as long as I can recall. They have a drink called a Chickachino and it comes in many different flavors. So far I’ve tried about 6 different flavors and they all were great. The staff is extremely friendly and tries very to please the tourists, which can be a challenge. A great place to start the day or get a much needed pick-me-up!!!

I know C.C. has been in business for a long time, so i was confident a could get an excellent Cappucinno there. It was 2⁄3 froth and extremely bitter… disappointing for $ 4.22. Next time I will try a different shop for a specialty coffee drink.

Desert was ok, but extremely pricey. The quality does not meet the price, so I would not go back. If I’m going to a place like this I believe that the Door County Confectionary is better all the way around… sorry

We went here because we were in the mood for chocolate and were pleasantly surprised to find out they had ice cream also. My son couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the ice cream was. I split one of their GIANT peanutbutter cups with my husband and thought it was heavenly. It was nice to be able to walk down by the harbor and sit in the gazebo in the park. If you are in Egg Harbor I would give it a try. I am not a coffee drinker, but judging by the amount of people that kept coming in, it must be pretty good.
