I’ve been here about four times and every time I’ve come, the servers are extremely nice. Yes, there will be a wait sometimes but it’s a buffet, all you can eat. It should be expected. Today, there was no wait. Food is ALWAYS on point with a plus-breakfast choices today! Double plus-Filipino Independence Day meaning Filipino food! This is so far my favorite buffet. A lot of people rave about Valley View but it’s way too far for me to drive. I will stick with Paipa’s. Wear your stretchy pants ladies!

There was a some event at the buffet and made 50+ customers wait hours for lunch to start. Seriously… starving your clients so that a few can get autograph and take photos… event planning fail.

Ventured out to the buffet on Saturday and was very pleased with the quality and variety of food. Very clean and constantly being refreshed. Lots of of healthy choices. Very clean and they have a great sneeze protection glass(whatever you call it) over the buffet to promote etiquette. Lots of gourmet dishes such as mussels marinara, spiced lamb, seafood cocktails, and ethnic dishes. Service was great. Daniel took good care of us. We will be back!

Let’s start with the 1 hour and 10 minute wait in a line that reminded me of being herded like cattle. Why not give a pager so you can gamble or get a drink??? Then you finally reach the counter to be greeted by the extremely rude cashier, who acts like she has the worst job in the entire world. After paying, you get to again stand in line for another 10 minutes to wait to be seated. The hostess that seats you grabs your ticket and walks away. I guess them at meant to follow. The seating area is set up like a bad hospital cafeteria. The food is eatable but certainly not great. Needless to say we most probably won’t be back.

Great food. Great service. Our waiter isidro was so friendly. The food was so tasty and satisfying. The buffet ranges from prime rib, seafood, mexican, chinese, italian, and unlimited crab legs. Great place to indulge in all delicacies and desserts. Tip: Come early. my party of 7 came super early and walked straight in :) bt after we left, it got busy.

Last night the crab legs were the best they have ever been. The prime rib was good, just needed a little salt. Service was good as always. If you’re active duty, retired, or veteran get the military players card(for free) and save 8 bucks per person!

This a major improve over the old buffet. I am also glad they moved it from the smoking section to the not smoking section of the casino. Over all it is pretty good. Compared to the other casino buffets in San Diego, it is about par for most of them. It is decently priced with plenty of space. They have a nice selection of items from the seafood, Mexican, salad, Italian, and American fare. The Mexican fare is one of the more extensive ones in San Diego but being San Diego, I do not really indulge in Mexican food at a casino. The Italian was mostly pizza with several pasta dishes. It looked good but I usually skip over it. The salad section included a nice assortment of breads and cheeses. The American fare is my favorite part. The prime rib is good and they serve a nice slice. They also have alternative meat dishes such as steak, ribs, and sausages. For starch, they have a small potato station. The seafood is decent. The Asian section is small and ok. They have some sushi which looked very underwhelming. I usually skip over the crab legs. Too much work for very little reward in my opinion. Overall, decent. Service is good. Server checked in now and then to see how I was doing and refilled my drink. If you are out this way, it is worth if you are visiting the casino.

I’m not a fan of Buffets but this place was pretty good. I liked that the restaurant was organized and clean. I don’t have to worry about dirty plates or utensils. They have a great selection. Asian, American, Mexican, vegetarian, and other dishes. And the desserts has a huge selection. I was amazed. I’ve gone to the other casino Buffet but this one beats all the ones in the San Diego and northern San Diego. My only complaint was that the rice pilaf with mushrooms was a bit salty. But overall the food is delicious. You leave fat, full, and happy.

I have been here many times since they opened. It is a buffet so none of the food items really stand out as wonderful. They have a nice variety of items but nothing has a whole lot of flavor and for the price I expect more. They offer a salad bar, variety of breads, pizza, pasta, a meat area with a carving station, seafood, and a Mexican/Asian food area. My husband loves it because of the unlimited crab legs. I personally like the desserts best although some of them taste like the same thing with different flavors. If they have the Panna cotta be sure to try it. It is probably the best dessert although I do love the toffee cookies when they have them. Service varies. I usually come with my mother in law who has a diamond member. They have a new system to avoid long lines but it only seems to make the wait longer. You log in to the app and reserve a table. Once you get a text message that your table is ready then you go to the cashier to check in. There is still a long wait to see the cashier and another wait for a table when you have already been told your table is ready. This is just crazy. They really need to go back to the old system. All in all it is an okay buffet. Nothing really special but there are a few items that are good.

I’m not going to be kind like some of the other people with damaged taste buds. First of all we got there at noon thinking since we signed up for our Sycuan players card there was supposed to be a free buffet involved, there wasn’t. we payed 42 dollars for 2 poeple what we could have easily have gotten from HomeTown Buffet or Golden Corral for 3 or 4 people. There weren’t very many people there when we arrived and there were more than enough open seats available without having to be crammed next to another party. There wasn’t anybody sitting at the tables next to us when we arrived we left our receipt and went to get some food. after getting food I returned to find the hostess seated a party of 6 at a table for 4 right next to us with only about a foot and a half between our table and theirs. I quickly grabbed my drink and utensils and everything and moved about 30 feet away to a plethora of empty tables. Seriously why the fuck would I want to be crammed in like that when there are so many open seats available? The hostess or guest seater gave absolutely no consideration to the other guest already sitting there. She could have moved them 1 more table away and there would have been no issue. Now for the food. The roast beef was about as tough as the bottom of a Marine’s boot, the mashed were somewhat watery and throwing some green shit on top didn’t help the taste. the macaroni and cheese has a beige coloring to it, like it had been sitting there for quite some time. The gravy tasted like flavored water. The brown rice had the texture of grounded up rubber. the prime rib had zero seasoning on it and the Au jus was little more than colored water. There was absolutely no flavor to speak of. I didn’t dare touch the Mexican food section as I didn’t feel like skimming the grease off the top of the taco meat. Even the Pepsi had a funky taste to it. Seriously for this price you would think the food would actually be good save yourself 20 bucks and go to Hometown Buffet because this has got to be one of the worst Buffets I have ever been to(yes I have been to Golden Corral) and was by far the most expensive. Never again is the only thing I can say good about the place, other than it looked nice. Seriously, add some spices to the food and stop trying to cater to those who can’t handle it. Bland food is not good food and salt and pepper only mask an inferior recipe.

Crabs an prime ribs are awesome. con: the crab legs are sometimes salty and over steamed. The New York steak is well done so it’ll come out tasting like wood. some table are to small for a party of 6 – 8. this table is locate near the bathroom; next to the staff entrance. the table really narrow; seems like the they squeeze the table in just to have space. Pro: they have a good selection for dessert. Sugar free section and regular dessert section. Great Ice cream selection. Prime ribs are great; to some people is to bloody but you can request to cook it more if you like that cheap beef taste and texture.

29.11 for nasty buffet. Not one item tasted good. Salad was disgusting. Pizza cold and old. Steak was disgusting and Mexican food was bland. What pissed me off the most was the price I paid. It’s exactly like home town buffet. Rip off.

Just like other casino buffets it has a plethora of food choices. Favorites are always the endless crab legs and prime ribs. For desert the toffee cookies are always a hit. The only con I really have is the seating. With only a few other casino buffets to compete with I’d figure this buffet would be a lot bigger to seat more people especially for groups bigger than 6. There are only 2 back square tables that can seat the family.

When you sign up for a card you get a free buffet… and thank goodness it was free. It wasn’t terribly bad but in comparison to other buffets around, this was not the tastiest variation of food ever. First of all, there is not much selection to choose from and on top of that, everything looked like its been sitting out for a while. When you see the separation of the oil from the sauce you know its been there for quite sometime. The ambiance is nice but that can take the food only so far. Most of the stuff was tasteless or hidden by the amounts of cheese sauce. I think the only thing I really liked there was the beef rib. especially if it was rare like I liked it. Other than that, I didn’t even make I all the way around the buffet because I was kind of over it after the heaping bloody meat on my plate. My friends were not so impressed with the food either. One actually tried the Asian food and well, there was still a lot of noodles left on his plate. Another one of my friend thought that some of the dishes were either freeze dried and than heated up. Sadly, the desserts were okay too. As pretty as they made them, I think the only ones we liked were the bread pudding, crème brulee and the panna cotta. Everything else was too sweet or bland. I tried one that looked like it was in a chocolate tea cup and it tasted like straight frosting from the can.

Crab legs, shrimp, clams, steaks, roasts and more! I came here with a group of friends on their Sea to Sea night(Every Friday). The selection definitely lives up to the name. Tons of seafood options: both hot and cold crab legs, several types of shrimp, glazed salmon, mussels, clams, smoked salmon, even seafood stew. The best part is that there are plenty of other options, even on seafood night, to choose from if you don’t like seafood… Steak cooked to order, pasta, Mexican dishes, pizza, prime rib, etc. plus tons of side options as well as a fully stocked salad bar. Lastly they have a pretty big selection of deserts to choose from as you wrap up your meal. For me and my group though, we pretty much stuck to crab legs and prime rib, which is what I suggest. As far as quality goes, it’s definitely above average(as far as buffets go). Nothing really blew our hair back or made us say«wow» but you have to remember that this food isn’t cooked to order for you personally(aside from the steak station). Overall our group was happy with our food and there were a couple mountains of the shattered remains of crab legs we devoured, so we definitely didn’t leave hungry. The staff was great and none of our glasses were ever empty, and the empty plates were cleared quickly. The wait to get in was kind of a drag, but it’s to be expected… Fortunately for us we had a good size group of friends and kept each other entertained while we waited. They also have several TVs hung up with sports highlights and Sycuan promotions streaming, so you at least have something to watch while you wait as well. Lastly, they offer a free buffet to new Sycuan Club Members, which none of us were. So we were able to get six free buffets(which was helpful since the blackjack table wasn’t so kind to us that night). All in all, good time with a group of friends If you’re not already a Sycuan Memeber, I suggest you take advantage of the free buffet offer.

2 words: BEEFRIB… only if it’s actually available. I come here more than I’d like to. I’ve been invited on too many occasions to say no, so it has become an obligation, lol. I always look forward to getting that beef rib and they don’t always have it, I’m not sure if it’s a summer or winter thing, and I swear I’ve been to this buffet all year long, and it’s there sometimes. It has a great sauce and fall off the bone meat. They always have the pork ribs, and those don’t do ribs justice. The buffet(not a huge fan of buffets to begin with) has a great variety of cuisines. People are a huge fan of the crab legs and dessert. I think it’s a great asset to Sycuan. I’ve also never had to pay when coming to eat here, so cost is out of the question! haha. Also, there can be long lines for dinner. And they are very accommodating to large groups.

It’s hard for a buffet to get more than 3 stars in my book, but Paipa’s earned their extra start. First and foremost, the crab legs. I was very pleased with the quality of the crab legs that were provided. Very fresh and tasty. The staff kept the buffet line platter full. Everytime I passed by there was another sky high mountain of crab legs both cold and hot. Prime Rib was cooked well, but as is the case with most Buffets, finding a cut that is cooked exactly to your liking is difficult. I do have to say they had a couple versions of horseradish which were very good. Next up, desserts. Automatically awesome because they had an icecream bar. And I’m not talking about a boring vanilla/chocolate froyo-like swirl, I’m talking mint chocolate chip/pistachio/chocolate chip flavored legit icecream. And a server who actually looked like he halfway enjoyed scooping icecream and didn’t give me a death glare when I asked for 2 scoops instead of 1. Our server was also awesome. She kept our drinks refilled the whole time and cleared out our plates as soon as we were finished so that we could continue our gluttony uninhibited. And she kept us on our toes with her witty comments! She definitely earned her tip.

I actually enjoyed this buffet quite a lot, and the price is more reasonable than Valley View. I had extra time to kill before a show at Live & Up Close, so I decided to try it(you can only spend so long trolling abandoned credits in the Non-Smoking slots). The Prime Rib was really good, and they had tons of sides to go with it, like yams, mashed potatoes, veggies etc. The salad station had some good options like Texmex coleslaw and spinach with goat cheese. The other star is the dessert bar, crazy selection! Had panna cotta, lemon poppyseed madeleine, lemon cheesecake, and a mini éclair. There was a ton more to choose from, but that was all I could do, stuffed! P. S. Dalton did an awesome job taking care of me, that boy hustles his ass off!

It’s a perfectly standard casino buffet. I come to the local Indian casinos quite frequently and Sycuan is no different. Between the 9 – 10 major casino buffets in San Diego County they all try to one up each other. Valley View in North County really set the standard with all-you-can-eat lobster when it opened and now the competition is fierce. That being said Sycuan has always been a laggard in this space. They always featured a no-frills approach to the casino buffet especially the original location situated where Gameday Grill currently sits on the 1st level. They do serve decent crab legs(chilled and steamed) and since the remodel and relocation to the 2nd level the quality has gone up a bit but in comparison to the quality of the other casino buffets in the county it just doesn’t match up. Lines here can be very long on evenings and weekends so make sure you give yourself an extra hour for wait time if you come during these peak hours. If you come here for an early dinner on a weeknight or for lunch on the weekends you can breeze right through which is awesome! When perusing the options I do like that you can get your own fresh-grilled NY Strip steak medium rare if you ask and they are more than willing to cut a slice of prime rib to your desired thickness and also grilled if you prefer(always get the prime rib grilled!) I will say that their fried chicken is the best I’ve had in a casino buffet. The breading is perfectly crisp and flavorful and the meat whether dark or white is nice and juicy. DONOTTOUCH their«Mexican» station food… It’s awful. Thankfully it’s at the end of the buffet line so you’d be better off filling your plate before you get to that section. They have a small salad bar with a tiny meat and cheese board if you’re into that kind of thing. They usually have two soups du jour and I like their clam chowder and barley meat stew when they feature those options. As far as their dessert section it’s pretty standard with a few flavors of ice cream and assorted cakes and pies which aren’t that special. I do get the bread pudding and rum sauce quite often because it’s decent. Service is great here, most of the servers have been here for quite a while it seems and they are really good about making sure your table is clean and you get refills on your drinks fast. Please make sure to leave them a tip! I hate it when people don’t leave them a tip because it’s «just a buffet.» Don’t be a cheapo! I’ve had better service at casino buffets than at least half of the«fine dining» establishments I’ve been to. Overall, I come here with very low expectations. I know I’m going to get a decent plate of food with great service and that’s fine. If you come in expecting anything more than that you’re headed for a disappointing experience.

Are buffets where desserts go to die? I used to not really like this buffet. But I do feel they have gotten better or maybe I’m bias because my dinner usually consist 75% of snow crab legs. I do enjoy me a good crab leg… sma-tharrd in butta. or clarified butter if you wanna get technical. The steak and pastas arent too bad either. I usually dont eat any thing else. Dessert wise I eat a crème brûlée or two. I usually stay away from buffet desserts if its not ice cream. The cakes and little dessert shooters always look cute but hardly ever taste as good. And yes the wait can get kinda long sometimes but its not too bad. I mean hey. what are cellphones for, if not to entertain you while you wait?
