I miss Nibs so much. Get those permits together dammit. The family working there is adorable, the food is off the charts. Me and my family miss Nibs so much.

Miss Nibs? WELLSTOPMISSINGNIBSBECAUSEIT’S BACK except in a different location and under a different name ANDIT’S STILLGREAT. Alex and Hannah from Nibs are now at Alex’s Giant Burger in San Pablo. Been there about 4 months. Menu is similar, and just as tasty. Visited tonight and they were super surprised to see old Nibs customers, so hopefully others will make the trek.

I want Nib’s to be resurrected more than I want Christ to be resurrected. Although I now live elsewhere, I volunteered at Playland-Not-At-the-Beach at one point where Nib’s was in close proximity. The service was old-fashioned in a good way, as they were exceedingly attentive. They gave large portions of whatever you ordered whether it was your soda, your fries and your burger. They treated you with loads of courtesy. The menu was nice and big and they had lots of parking. When I went to Nib’s, I had their guacamole burger and it was consistent as well as reliable. They used real guacamole and they did not cut any corners in the quantity of the guacamole or throughout the restaurant. When you got fries, they gave you big, crunchy steak fries and plenty of them. I went there at least three times and I ordered different things at different times, but I was consistently pleased. Sometimes, seats were a little close. Luckily, they would make it clear to you that they would move things around or try their best to find a table soon. The waits were fairly short. El Cerrito needs Nib’s to re-open. It’s too great of a loss.

I’ve been here once and the food was great, I had French toast with fruit in top, and te portions were generous. Only downfall was the service was really slow that day. Idk if it is normally like that though

I grew up going to Nibs! Loved this place, any news if it will re-open? My favorites ~ Nelly the waitress. Redish hair, I remember her from the 60’s but she is probably long gone from Nibs, Nibs Sauce on my burger or #7BBQ sauce, and berry pie! By brother’s favorite ~ Old fashioned milkshake in that big stainless steel container!

Definitely a neighborhood diner where they know your name. They work busily to get through the day and their business made it a bit uncomfortable for me… but i guess as a regular youd get used to it. I had the mini breakfast: egg, 2 sausage/bacon, toast, and choice of grits or potatoes. Everything came as ordered and the bacon was good, i wish their potatoes were crispy… I picked up a number at the dmv and crossed the street to dine here… after a nice lunch break, i still have 10 numbers before me…

Yes. Yes. Yes. Everything is good. The weird vestibule with fish and funky curtain and random flyers. They know how to make a decaf iced latte. The food. The waitress who is always there and so serious. Very competent, but serious. Doesn’t talk much. In contrast, the owner(or whoever she is) talks to everyone like they are regulars, saying hello and goodbye. Everything there fits. I *love* it.

Drove 40 minutes out of our way to get bfast here before we head to wine country only to find this place closed even though it says they are open and frankly the premises looked suspect from the outside.

A classic small eatery with very good food, very good service and a nice cozy feel. Went there for several years and for some reason never go around to writing a review. Then they had a kitchen fire, they must have looked over the books and decided to close the doors. A real loss. Finding these unpretentious little places is hard to do. And now one of the best is gone. I would have given it five stars but for the need to hang out in the parking lot until a table opened up. On the other hand, the servers never rushed us out. Where to go now for a good mid-morning breakfast?

I’m so, so sad. There was a grill fire at Nib’s February 24. A sign was put on the door saying they would be closed about a month. People have written notes of love and support on the sign, looking forward to the reopening. I stopped by today and there were Realtor’s signs in the windows. Some workers were sitting in the back of the parking lot, eating lunch. I asked if they were working on Nib’s and they indicated it was gone. It’s the end of an era. The family worked so hard to sustain it and made the best blueberry pancakes and the French Toast of my childhood.

Okay place. Really close to my house, so I checked it out when I first moved in. I like how it is family owned and operated. I sometimes think that certain restaurant owners are plagued with a mental disorder that makes them think in «faster, bigger, better» mode and unfortunately«getting your money’s worth» is definitive of boring, nothing special, large portioned food. But there’s a market for everything and everyone.

Dirty — Dirty — Dirty — Dirty! You have to duck so the cobwebs/spider webs — and these are NOT Halloween decorations — don’t hit you in the head. Let me add filthy and unsanitary — seriously wonder when the last time a health inspector was in this place!

What a pleasant surprise! The pictures up on Unilocal are nice but they don’t capture the charm of this sweet little breakfast spot. Came here with my little boy for some breakfast before church. Short stack, bacon, eggs and fruit is $ 6.75 I think. Coffee was perfectly good(you have to ask for half-n-half though, or the default is lowfat milk). I think the secret is to get here EARLY lest you catch the huge line. I will definitely be back to check out the patty melt.

By far… The Best Breakfast Joint in El Cerrito Without getting too detailed: Nibbs is the best breakfast place to get good, homemade, wholesome, cheap breakfast or brunch! Its so authentic that they keep the place the same as it has been for years! The staff is friendly and knows your name even if you have only been there twice… The Owners obviously love the community and their customers because they have pictures displayed of everyone… Not a lot of places do that and I appreciate that they do… You really get what your paying for, but in this case… you really get more…

Came here for breakfast during Easter weekend and to my surprise I was seated immediately! After hearing good things about their omelettes, I decided to go for the Veggie Omelette. Sadly, it was a bit bland and even after adding some salt and pepper, I still feel like I could make a better omelette. On the other hand, I must commend them for the enormous size and the generous amount of ingredients for a reasonable price. The avocado sprawled out on top like a large caterpillar makes this even more worth the price. My sister and I split the omelette with a side of chicken apple sausages and we were both stuffed with food coma by the time the check came. I will have to return to try something different… maybe a burger or a pancakes next time.

I heard about Nibs for quite sometime now and finally had the opportunity to try this place out with my sis and brother in law over the weekend. I’ve been up and down SPA(San Pablo ave) pretty much my whole entire life since I’m an east bay girl and never wouldn’t known this place existed. We arrived at nibs and it’s a small quaint mom n pop breakfast place which I loved. The place was packed when we got there but only waited 20 min which was no big deal. As I was watching breakfast plates come out of the kitchen, oh my, are those grits? Yes!!! Had my very first experience with grits in New Orleans and I’ve been hooked since. I ordered 2 eggs, side of grits and chicken apple sausage. I also asked for a side of shredded cheddar cheese to go with the grits. A friend of mine from the south taught me what to put in my grits. I was in breakfast nirvana. I am excited that I found a place that serves grits in the west coast. When I return to Nibs, i must try their pancakes and omelets.
