I rather go to the one on Valley, friendlier customer service. The lady that dealt with me: blond, short shoulder-length, huge diamond ring on «I’m-taken-finger» said«next in line» and that was it. No exchange words with customer. Instead she was on the phone with her«best friend». I slides my card and even have to take my own receipt… What kind of service is that. Shit that’s what is it.

Been here 3 different times and have not met one single nice person that is Willing to help. They even pass you and don’t even ask if they can help. With anything. Such terrible customer service !!! When you ask for help, they seem bothered.

I come in here for the knife deals, you can pick up a Kershaw for under 20 bucks and it’s fairly decent in the SGV for pocket knives.

I only shop for shoes running shoes here. Can only review them based on that. The staff is pretty knowledgeable about which shoes are better for running and which are better for training. They are also very honest.(They told me nike sucks at making running shoes, but I already knew that) Today in particular I asked to try on about 7 different pairs of shoes and the guy and girl who helped me were in a happy mood to look for my shoes. The store is very organized aside from the mess I saw people leaving. The manager is usually there and can help with anything they employees cant assist you with. This store is not as big as other ones but they have the main stuff you look for in a big 5 anyway. The only downside is since its a smaller store then others everything is packed in pretty tightly(within the store. Meaning all the racks are close by one and other.

I’ve been coming to this Big 5 since I was a little kid growing up in El Monte. I shopped here with allowance money for baseball gloves, shoes, hiking gear, swimming accessories, tennis rackets, etc. While I don’t recommend wearing their running shoes for actual running, I’m sure they’re okay for walking. Today, I go back to buy sunglasses and the occasional can of tennis balls. Recently I got a pair of photochromatic — polarized sunglasses for cycling for only thirty bucks. They were the last pair so the kind employees gave me 10% off. I like this place even though I’m now a pro-cyclist, pro-tennis player and pro-bargain hunter.

I recently made a purchase here, Walter was the one who handled it for me. Once I got home, I had a number of questions and concerns. By the time I had called Big 5, I had let my concern grow. Walter was very quick to provide the needed answers. He even contacted the head office to clarify and confirm, he called me back right away to answer all my questions and clear up any of my confusion and concerns. All in all, my purchase was a really good experience. Very good prices and products, including a wide selection of items, friendly and very helpful employee’s.

This sporting goods store offers good prices and friendly service, the store is one of the tinier BIG5s I’ve personally been to, but you will find affordable sporting goods here. Even though they did not have what I was looking for(snowboarding gear), I will gladly come back for some workout gear!

I’ve come here looking for running shoes. It’s hit or miss. I’d rather take my luck to a running store and pay the extra $ 20-$ 30 or whatever it may be to ensure quality shoes.

Good sales for okay products. They’re not going to have the most fashionable pieces or up to date styles. Their selection is also limited. They had Nike running shoes on sale Black Friday for suuuch a good price. However, when talking to the staff, I could tell they are not knowledgeable at all about the gear! They sell deadstock and out of season stuff, which makes the prices competitive compared to Sports Chalet and other sporting good stores. Recommended for those who aren’t picky hypebeasts. Do your research on the product before you come and you’ll be fine.
