As a lover of tacos, Ixtaco definitely was worth the visit! Location: It’s literally a small gourmet taco stand with limited outdoor patio seating only. The place doesn’t have its own parking lot so you’ll have to find street parking. If you’re lucky, the neighboring auto service place may let you park in their lot. Once you get past these obstacles, you’re ready to order and eat. Menu: The hardest part of eating at Ixtaco is determining what to order! You can select your type of meat(asada, pollo, camaron, carnitas, chicharrón, calamari, pescado, pato, buche, langosta, crab, scallops, etc.) and how you want it(taco, burrito, torta, sope, quesadilla). The tacos’ corn tortillas are homemade and delicious. Other items that I want to try next time are the esquites and ceviche. Make sure to try an agua fresca. When I visited, there were five varieties to select from like mango passion fruit and chocolate horchata. They even give you a sample of each and all were delicious. Even though it’s a taco stand, the quality of the food is better than your regular taco joint. The food is fresh so be patient and prepare to wait 15 – 20 minutes for your order. It’s worth it! Price: Tacos range from $ 1.55 to $ 2.75; burritos/tortas from $ 5.00 to $ 7.00; sopes from $ 2.75 to $ 3.50; agua frescas from $ 2.00(regular) to $ 2.50(large). Customer Service: The person who helped me was friendly and made recommendations as it was my first time visiting. She offered samples of the agua frescas too. The place is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Daily specials start at 9 p.m.(Friday and Saturday) and at 8 p.m.(Sunday through Thursday). Check this hole-in-the-wall out!

Went to lunch with a friend. Found this place because it was near her work. Very small place but great flavors and well worth it. Calamari and fish tacos were amazing.

Pretty good tacos! Came here cause my friend tried this place & told me that they had freshly made tortillas! I’ve been trying to find a place that has fresh tortillas cause those are always better. They have a lot of different types of meats & seafood all ranging at different prices. I originally ordered a chicharron & roasted duck but they didn’t have anymore chicharron left :(I was really sad cause that’s what I wanted the most but I ended up getting al tocino instead which is bacon w/al pastor sauce. Anyways both tacos were delicious! They give you a good amount of meat. However, next time when I go, I’m gonna ask for a different sauce on top because I guess if you say you want everything on, they put onion, cilantro, radishes AND mango habanero. I love spicy food but man that was spicy.

This taco place is a taco stand with some nice seating area right next to a car auto repair shop. There are some parking inside the repair shop area or you can street park in the back. This place gets really busy on lunch even on weekdays so call ahead of time because the cashier moves a bit slow and the food takes a bit of time. Made with love? Fresh tortillas FTW! Ok the tortillas were a bit thick for my preference, but i still prefer them over the store bought ones. So props to that! TACOSSS –The portions and sizes for what you pay is GREAT! It’s about $ 2.00 to $ 2.55ish for the tacos. The Carnitas were a tad dry but the chipotle sauce is what stands out and makes up for it! Try their chipotle sauce! Passion fruit Mango — $ 2.00 a bit too sweet for my taste but i diluted it with water and then it was bomb and so refreshing. I will definitely come back to try the duck and other meats. :)

I found Ixtaco on Unilocal, and the pictures totally got me. Handmade tortillas? Calamari tacos? Home made Chicharonnes? Elotes? I just had to see what this was all about. Upon arrival, I noticed it was a cute little spot. Cute décor, cute signs, very clean. Though the space was small, it was cozy and had inviting places to sit. Not the usual dirty, cold, bright taco stand. It feels like you’re in someone’s rustic backyard. I could definitely eat here, but we were in a rush so I had to take it togo. We ordered the Carnitas mixed Chicharonnes, bomb. The fried calamari taco, bomb. The calamari quesadilla, bomb. The corn with carnitas and like bacon in it, BOMB. The Chicharonnes and Tortilla Chips, bomb(it was missing Nacho Cheese, I’m not sure if that was forgotten or on purpose, but next time I will definitely ask for nacho cheese with my Chicharonnes and Chips because that would take it to a whole ‘nother level!) We ordered a blueberry and piña agua fresca and that was bomb. We also got to chit chat with the owner and he was such a cool guy. He made us their special secret drink(it was a coconut milk drink and it was surprisingly light and refreshing). He gave us a few tips on when to come for their secret menu items…(In the evenings). Which consists of delectable foods like pork belly and beef briskets, and exotic… Well you get the idea. His favorites are the roast duck and scallop tacos which I will have to try on my next visit. I wanted to try everything but my time and stomach only allowed so much.

My 950th Reviews !!! When it comes to Tacos, I am a picky. I not a fan of those cheap tacos from tacos trucks or fast food takeout place. $ 1 and some tacos is cheap but they tend to be pretty wrap with poor supermarket quality tortilla and lack of sauce. The meat are usually tiny that pack with too much cilantro that overwhelm the flavors. This place fix all that problems, first of all their make its own tortilla in house. That’s almost unheard from a tacos stand. The tortilla here is so good that I had no problem finish the whole thing, also they are bigger size than you typical tacos. They pack with its own signature sauce at top they had a lot of sauce for you to choose from. The meat omg, they had so many meat selection, I see all kind of meat that you won’t find in other tacos stand or places. Calamari, Crawfish, Roasted Duck, and even Snow Crab. Those fancy meat is still less than 3 bucks which is super bang for your bucks ! I try several tacos, and my favorite would be their snow crab tacos. I love crabs meat and snow crab is pretty high in the list after king crab. They give you good amount of snow crab which is a shock to me consider the price. They give your compliment nachos with steamed cheese on top which is actually quite good ! Beside tacos, they also well known to have good Aguas frescas, they had variety of them and is only 2 bucks ! They give you sample to try as well. The service here is excellent and very friendly. They had no problem communicating with non spanish speaker. Plus they take credit card with no minimum required. Order to take time, but oh boy is well worth it. Tacos here is cheap and amazing good ! Easily 5 stars in my books. Most of Unilocal friend give this place in 5 or 4 stars and I definite can see why. Tips: They had few parking spot in the car shop but can be difficult to exit. My suggestion would be park in the nearby resident area street.

I saw this place pop-up on Unilocal and decided that I would check it out. It’s located in El Monte where you can literally find tacos everywhere and they do provide some damn good tacos too! FOOD — 4 Stars: — Tacos: I got one of each of the fish, shrimp, calamari, beef, chicken, and pork. Everything tasted really good and the sauces were delicious. My only complaint was the tortilla. It felt like it had to be cooked longer. The texture was just a tad off for my personal taste. So, I ate some of the tortillas and just ate the inside of the tacos after a while. — Nachos: I got the pork nachos and this was really good. I liked it a lot. Plus, the presentation of is excellent! — Chips & Salsa: Their chips are really good and the salsa they gave us was deep in flavor and spicy! SERVICE — 4 Stars: The service was friendly, but extremely slow. I’m not sure why the food took so long, but a few of us were waiting for a long while. The staff was nice enough to provide us complimentary chips and salsa, but when you’re starving, it’s tough to just snack on chips when I came for tacos. However, I appreciated the gesture. ATMOSPHERE — 5 Stars: The only have outdoor seating. It’s relatively small and I came on the weekend in the late afternoon so I didn’t have any issues. It may get crowded during peak eating times. RECOMMENDATION: I’d definitely come back here again. Everything I had was pretty good. I’m hoping the waiting time is not an issue anymore. I went when they first opened so I’d assume they have gotten into the groove of things. If you’re in the area, try their tacos! Oh and their drinks! It’s very refreshing!

So I’ve heard so much about this place, and I’ve been wanting to try this taco place! Boy did it live up to the hype. It is definitely a hole in the wall taco place. I’m so glad I got to try it! They have a 3 taco special, which includes 3 tacos and a drink for $ 5! I got 6 tacos: carne asada, grilled fish(pescado), shrimp(camaron), duck, and calamari. They charge 50 cents extra if you order a seafood taco, which is still a great deal! Grilled fish: really good Shrimp: really good, but a little on the salty side for me Duck: Soooo goood, I love the duck skin and tender duck meat! Calamari: my personal favorite, I love the texture of the deep fried calamari! The sauce on the tacos made the tacos delicious. I can’t wait to come back and have some more of their tacos. Although a little too salty for me, I can just request lightly seasoned/salt. I can already taste the tacos!
