The embodiment of jiu-jitsu is hard to explain. The core values of most jiu-jitsu schools change depending where you go train but most have a similar philosophy. You show up, check your ego at the door and train, train, train, train, and when you think you have trained enough you train some more. Along your journey you will learn that respect is not given but earned, you will become a better version of yourself through jiu-jitsu. One of the first steps in jiu-jitsu is finding a school that fits your needs. You want a place where you can learn comfortably and a place where leadership is strong. Briggs Academy is an illustration of what a good school should be. The mats at Briggs Academy do not discriminate against age, size, gender or skill levels, all are welcome. So, if you have been wondering what jiu-jitsu is all about come join us at Briggs for a class so you can not only see, but also feel what it is all about. I speak not as your everyday« Unilocaler» but an avid jiu-jitsu practitioner. «The moment you think it is too late, do not think just do» that is the jiu-jitsu way.

Awesome place to train no matter how much experience you have! Great atmosphere that welcomes those who practice Muay Thai or BJJ religiously, or for anyone looking for a fun workout with enthusiastic and experienced coaches!

After eights months of training at Briggs, I cannot recommend it enough. My son goes to the kids class three days a week and has learned so much and built his confidence as well. He has made new friends and keeps active all week. Training Jiu Jitsu for me is so much better than running on the treadmill. Amazing workout and learning an art from an incredible teacher!
