The food was okay, but I think it could have been better. It took them a while before serving us. I think the one near the freeway is better than the one on Zaragoza

I love this place. I go for the molletes at breakfast and the Tacos de la Tia for lunch. There are four molletes to an order, so the bf and I each eat one there and take the other two home to warm up for breakfast the next day. We put some of that delicious red salsa on top of the mollete to add just the right kick. The bf and I both agree that the Tacos de la Tia could absolutely come from one of our tias’ kitchens. Tortillas are crispy with a few black char marks on them, just the way I like them, and potatoes are mixed into the carne molida. Yesssss! When I don’t feel like having red meat, I order the fish tacos, which are also very good.

From start to finish it was a terrible experience, we waited like two minutes to be seated because the hostess would not come, behind us there were like 3 other couples and we were all wtf since the restaurant wasn’t even packed. Once the hostess arrived she wasn’t nice to us or the other people waiting. The food was barely warm, like that nutcase of Donald trump would say«it was terrible» We ended up returning the food and not paying for anything. Will not return.

Hmm don’t know about the other reviewers but if the place is called Carnitas Queretaro you would think they order the carnitas? Anyways the carnitas are excellent, you can’t get any better in El Paso. The tacos are made with tortillas hand made in house. The pozole is delicious so is the Poblano Chicken. I have yet to find a «good» enchilada at any restaurant I’ve been to so I never order them. That’s more of a «make at home» type of food. It could get a little pricey the best deals are the burritos at $ 4 and $ 5 you can’t beat that.

We are a long time customers and super disappointed. My wife ordered the green cheese enchiladas and I ordered the red ones and a bowl of tortilla soup. First the soup never arrived. Second the appetizers(queso and rajas) arrived with the food. And the worst, my wife’s and my enchiladas were cold. Like they are frozen and placed in the microwave before being served. The cheese and the tortilla were cold and hard. I asked the waiter to get the manager. When the manager arrived I asked her to take the fork and poke the enchilada. She try she notice what I was talking about and embarrassed about the poor food. She took both plates and apologize and replaced the food for some other enchiladas with a longer time in the microwave. My point is that will not be coming back =(.

Great food! Very happy and full after eating here. Was recommended by many people at the office I’m visiting this week. Not a lot of connection or personality from the servers, but it was a fantastic and quick stop for lunch.

Well it did not start so well. Sitting at booth near bar was not a good choice. Sitting down at a booth were you had to be a child on one side because the table is horribly cramping against the seat. Some of you know me, and I’m not a big guy. And I can’t fit. :( We were swapped into the next booth where the seats ha a cheap springy feeling where anything more than 5lb sinks down so far you feel like you will tear seat. :( The door swings wide open and the cold air hits hard while the slow movement of it closing gets slower the colder you are. :( The waitress finally arrives with a smile. I know my order and she didn’t know what tacos they had. :(finally explained and then she went to the back. Didn’t want beans so I swapped it with avocados for my tacos. She came back and informed me avocado slice is an extra $ 2?!? No thank you. :( Brought water with lemon… Came back with water with lemon juice squeezed in plus lemon slice… Tasted like in sweetened watered down lemon aid. :( Asked for an exchange and was brought a glass of water with a half dozen slices of lemon. :(at least it had ice :( Cancelled order and went home.

Staff was nice. The food was not what I was expecting. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and all it was were cooked shrimp with no seasoning or cheese or even onion. Just plain shrimp rolled in the tortilla and green sauce on top. I am going to return to give them one more chance. I’ll keep you updated.

My favorite place for tortilla soup and breakfast! Service is hit or miss sometimes but other than that great place for authentic Mexican food! I love how they make the tortillas fresh, my favorite part of the whole experience! We’ve had countless parties there and always get taken care of. Great place for out of towners too!

I love this place. The food is always fresh and hot! I love their barbacoa! SOOOOGOOD! And the Al Pastor is also very good. Service is always friendly and very fast. I did not particularly enjoy the carnitas there, though. Prices are very reasonable, and portions are perfect. And one must always leave room for the Italian Cream Cake.

I was visiting el paso for the weekend and wanted to eat some authentic Mexican food. I decided to try the chori-queso and the Mexican plate which comes with rice, beans, cheese enchilada, cheese chile relleno and a carnitas taco. I loved everything except the enchilada. The carnitas is full of flavor and the chori-queso is delicious. I don’t like tortillas but their handmade tortillas are to die for. Their melon agua fresca was also very good. Another plus is that the prices are very reasonable!

This place had amazing food, not to mention their amazing prices! Its been over 6 months since we have been there(since my husband is no longer with the army, and we moved back home to Los Angeles) But once I started« Unilocaling» again, I just HAD to mention this place and give the STRONGADVICE, TOGOHEREANDEATUP!!! :) you WILLNOT be disappointed!!! My husband our ex-friend and I all ate HUGE meals and were totally full when we left, and for my husband and our ex-friend thats not an easy task) and it was all under 30 $ For quality food like that, i would normally expect to pay well over 60 or 70 $(being from L. A and not El Paso) But the service wasn’t the greatest… well, when I say that, wait, let me try again. The service was Too attentive, I felt that our server kept eye-ing me from across the room or wherever he was at, and he kept smiling at me, and would kinda give me a nod, or heads up whatever u wanna call it. so I sat even closer to my husband, holding his hand on the table, and giving him lots of kisses(not making out or anything, just those lil«i love you» kisses) and every time he would come to our table, he would put his hand on my shoulder. Don’t get me wrong, most girls like the lil extra attention from another male occasionally, but I think that it was highly inappropriate and disrespectful. I know that might sound stupid to most people, or be a stupid reason to take away a star, it’s just, I don’t like feeling like im being stared at while I eat, and I wasn’t crazy about the fact that he was at our table ATLEAST once every 5 minutes or less. Other than that, It was amazing, and when my husband and I go back to El Paso this summer to visit friends, we already have this place on our list!

We ususally like the food there, but Saturday 06⁄16 after eating there, both my daughter and me got sick. We had different food, so it was not specific food related. Monday I find that a colleague of mine also ate there over the weekend and she was too sick to come to work today. Probably will not go there again

Please pretend there is a 6th star! I think this is our favorite place so far we have tried in El Paso– The service was awesome, food came out fast, and everything tasted fabulous. Not to mention– they have $ 3(Big!) burritos.(I was trying to calculate if it would be cheaper than buying groceries to just eat their burritos all the time. It was a pretty good plan, but I think I would end up as fat as the pig on the sign if we did that!) On an unrelated note: Our server was wearing a Broncos jersey, and my husband went over and made friends with him before we even knew he was our server– It was pretty awesome to see the Broncos bringing people together like that. :-)

I’ve never been to this location before, but my experience at the Mesa Street location(which is not listed on Unilocal) was so horrendous that I feel the need to voice my experience. My husband loves their menudo. There is the positive(I’ve never tried it because I don’t do menudo). First, let’s talk about enchiladas. I’m a white girl from El Paso, therefore I consider myself«Mexican by association.» I have eaten a LOT of enchiladas in my day, and have a pretty good idea how they’re prepared(I haven’t attempted to make them since there are so many great options around every corner in this town). One thing for certain is that whether you fry the tortillas in advance(delicious but not always necessary) or not, you bake them in the oven. My cheese enchiladas were not baked, or did not appear or taste as though they were baked. My best guess is that they were microwaved. But not long enough, since they were served cold and hard. Who nukes enchiladas, especially at a Mexican restaurant right by Mexico?! I didn’t complain or send them back, though I should have. I’ve not been back since.

Carnitas is an El Paso staple and I’m always satisfied when I come here. The staff is always friendly and the food always comes fast. The burritos, carnitas, platters, aztec soup, and everything in between is always excellent and the price is always right. Of all the Mexican food options in El Paso, Carnitas may not be the best but it’s the one I frequent the most often. I love it.

The rental car guy at the airport suggested we come here for good Mexican food, and I’m glad my coworker and I listened to him. The service was very good, chips and salsa were always present at the table. The carnitas were delicious, but that chicken dish whose name I do not remember was ridiculously awesome. I could also say they had some of the best warm, corn tortillas I have ever tasted. Thanks Carnitas Queretaro, if you were a person, I would give you a pat on the back.

I hadn’t been to Carnitas Queretaro in YEARS! But when my buddy from out of town came to visit and wanted some good mexican, I did not hesitate to take him to Carnitas Queretaro, this being a new location to me. Carnitas are great! Barbacoa is great! Restaurant atmosphere is casual, yet a little classy, and its clean and not noisy. One of the must have El Paso food establishments IMHO
