Brisket and ribs are the best in EP. Get there early because they sell out quick. Been trying to get some of the smokey goodness at this place for a while and I finally get some about a week ago. The couple that own the place are super nice. Didn’t get any sides though. Price is fair for what you’re getting. Tip: Follow them on FB they normally post when they are sold out so you don’t come to the place expecting deliciousness and end up leaving with just a empty stomach and disappointment.

We were driving through El Paso in search of some quick and satisfying Texas barbecue. We found it in spades in this sweet spot right off the highway, run by a very friendly couple. The homemade toreados were delicious, the ribs falling off the bone, the brisket succulent, the beans worth every bite. Long may they smoke!

Without a doubt the best BBQ in the region. I’ve come in from out of town twice and had to stop here for some food. The brisket is exquisite(no BBQ sauce needed of course), the Cole slaw and beans were great. Prices are exactly fair. I’ve had a lot of bbq from central, north, and east Texas and this is among the best. El Paso finally has some legitimately spectacular BBQ!

Stopped here on the first day they came back from the holidays. Got ribs and moist brisket. Both had wonderful flavor and texture. Ribs had perfect«pull»…not fall off the bone and not difficult to bite. Beautiful smoke ring. Love the coarse pepper rub. We sampled regular brisket and burnt ends while in line. Both just over the top. beautiful«meat candy» bark, beautiful texture. I personally may have preferred another hour or two on the smoke to get a little more bark on the moist brisket, but that is nit picking. Bottom line, El Paso has BBQ that can stand tall in the same space as Smitty’s or Kreutz’s in Lockhart. Can’t wait to see sausage and pork chops.

First of all a big thanks to Daniel Vaughn of TMBBQ for making this establishment known, and rightfully so! Unfortunately I was too late for the brisket, all sold out by the time I got there, but I’ll be back!(Though pretty soon they’re upgrading to a larger smoker to accommodate their growing business). However I did get the very last of the ribs and they were GREAT! Very nice smoke ring, basic salt & pepper rub(And I’m guessing a wee bit of paprika for color?), beautiful subtle smoke flavor, very meaty, not fatty, tender and delicious. Best pork ribs in town, take it from yours truly becauae I’ve been to most all of them. And the most important thing is that they are importing actual oak wood at a high cost and using only high grade prime meats, also the pit master himself is a true fanatic and won’t sell a bad piece of meat, ever! It’s all about the total dedication, can I get an amen? Also I was told that homemade sausages will soon be available, can’t wait for those! 5 stars for the best BBQ in El Paso and yes this place is already a true BBQ destination, enjoy!

Brought home the BBQ and my husband LOVED it. The smoke brought out all the wonderful flavors and the meat was so very tender. We both loved the sliced bread and the rolls, it was a perfect thickness for us. The coleslaw was crispy and slightly sweet, but very delicious! The BBQ sauce was the perfect combination of good flavor and tanginess. Overall, you guys are a blessing! Your BBQ is so good you became our go-to for it! The hard work and love you put into it really shows in your food!

HOLYSMOKES, the last time I had Barbecue this good in El Paso, I brought it from Austin! Desert Oak Barbecue is the new El Paso BBQ Champion, granted there isn’t much competition, but their meats are truly outstanding. Desert Oaks menu can be best described as non-plethoral, it’s simple and straightforward, which is good because even though there are numerous sides available, the quality of which I cannot attest, you want only 2 things: Brisket and Ribs. You don’t just want these meats, you NEED these meats in your life! Both are perfectly smoked, I love seeing the smoker outside, it’s a thing of beauty. The ribs are tender, they are at just that right point where they almost fall off the bone, but they don’t, because they know that effortlessly biting the meat off a rib is one of life’s little pleasures. And then you get to the brisket, the tender, moist, delicious brisket, which is just plain awesome. THIS is Texas BBQ!

Without a doubt, this is the best barbecue in town. Classic central Texas BBQ that beats everything else I’ve tried. I had to start with that, because with long-time places dominating the market in West Texas(like State Line. Rib Hut and Smokey’s) and chains(like Famous Dave’s and Rudy’s), smaller businesses can get swallowed up quickly or left to dry up here in El Paso, leaving us El Pasoans with little choice of where we go when we decide to get smoked meats. Fortunately, this budding new business has come to the rescue, but you have to make an effort to get there(far East side of town) while there is still product left for you to purchase(I suggest calling ahead, just to be sure, or give a courtesy call 1-day in advance to be sure he cooks enough the following day). And the effort to get a plate is well worth it. Now, we all know that barbecue is not cheap, and the same goes here. You may spend $ 7-$ 15 per person, but it’s money well spent, and when you taste it you’ll know why you’re spending a little bit more. The brisket is dry rubbed and left with a HEAVY crust, then smoked for 12+hrs. The result: a moist, flavorful, smoky product that absolutely melts in your mouth. Pork ribs are given similar treatment which causes the meat to CLEANLY separate from the bone and also melt in your mouth. There are some moments in life where you pause to reflect, where words cannot express how you feel, where only sounds are made as you react to the moment… taking your first bite here puts you in such a place. And not only did I have this reaction as I sat in the dry 98 degree heat, just outside the food trailer, to eat my plate immediately, but my two teens also did when diving into the take-out plates I had brought back home for them. Now, the owners are purists, as I’m sure many of you also are, and that’s just fine; you can eat this all by itself if you please. However, they offer a sauce(on request only) that is an excellent balance of sweet-tangy-peppery that perfectly compliments the meats… and takes it from excellent to insanely good. You HAVE to try it. This is what El Paso needs… a true central Texas BBQ place that serves a high-quality product. I hope you get there before they sell out!
