Great food. Well seasoned chicken and the service was great. My BFF and I went there last night for my last dinner in Elpaso before I head back to New York today. I enjoyed my meal and he enjoyed his ribs. I must say it’s better than Bbqs in New York and Smoking joes.

Service is so slow. Had to get up and ask waiter for refills. Had to ask for plates. Didn’t even have utensils. Got our food an hour after ordered. Don’t recommend this place. Food is ok. Don’t know about world famous. Could be better.

The feast for two is my favorite to share with my boyfriend! We go here once a month as a ritual of ours, and we’ve always had a great experience! The customer service is always friendly and accommodating, even when they’re at their busiest. In fact, the last time we went, we sat in the bar area because it was pretty busy and we didn’t want to wait for a table, but we honestly had the most fun we’ve ever had. The male bartender working was awesome and convinced me to try the in-famous mixed drink(so delicious!!) He made our night fun and memorable, and of course, we will be back every month for a date to share our feast for two!

We had a mixture of meats at our table, ribs, pork brisket, and sausage. It was all really good. No complaints on the flavor. Would definitely eat there again. Our only complaint is on what they call burnt ends. They are not true burnt ends. It’s brisket tips caramelized in BBQ sauce. So, if you’re like me, and love the true burnt ends, don’t order that, or you will be disappointed. As for the service, it was great.

I’ve been here a few times in the past year when I was in a BBQ mood and in the vicinity. Unfortunately, I’ve had more negative than positive experiences on the food. The table service has been consistently friendly, but it’s the food that keeps you coming back. I’ve tried something different each time and the best item that proved consistent were the burgers. The brisket and pulled pork seemed to be hit and miss due to the fat content in the meat and over-sauced rather than allowing you to add your own. Most recently, we ordered nachos and added meat based on your choice of brisket, pork, or chicken. We ordered brisket since our server recommended it. When they brought the plate out, we literally could not find any trace of brisket but since the kids were hungry, that didn’t stop them from devouring the plate. When I mentioned this to our server, she said she would talk to her manger and probably get a free desert or something. I wasn’t looking for a free-bee but thought maybe that would be a nice gesture. At the end if the meal, she only deducted the $ 2 up charge. Felt the manager could have come out and addressed this, but obviously we weren’t worth it as customers. It will be a long while before we return and I wouldn’t recommend based on their management leadership at this location.

My husband and I are on vacation in El Paso so we decided to try this place. The outside looked very intriguing so we wanted to try it out. When we went in we were seated promptly and even got the booth that we asked for. We were off to a good start. The waitress came and took our order. We both ordered the smoked brisket with garlic mashed potatoes and firecracker green beans. When our food came out it looked good. Well then I decided I would dig into my brisket. I go to cut the brisket which should be tender and it won’t cut. It was super tough and chewy. One out of the four of my pieces of brisket was not chewy. If they had all been that good it would have been a better meal. Then I tried the firecracker green beans. They were supposed to be crunchy with a little kick. It was neither of those. They were soggy with hardly any flavor. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the whole meal. I figure it is pretty hard to mess up potatoes. The only other disappointment was the fact that I had to wait my entire meal for a refill on my drink. We will definitely not eat here again.

The food was good. Was expecting more since we are in the south thought it would be better than the west coast. Chicken was a lil dry. And bbq sauce could be better. Good service though. Ribs were good too

I was pretty impressed overall. Their brisket is the bomb. My boyfriend and I shared the feast for two so we got a little bit of everything. Way too much food for two people, but it tasted good! That’s for sure! And I was pretty surprised at how quickly all that food came as well. Overall it was a good experience!

Me and a buddy finally decided on BBQ and football tonight so naturally Famous Dave’s came to mind. We’re both recovering from a 12 mile ruck march and figured a little rib meat would beat the muscle milk stashed away in our cabinets. Maybe it’s just me but when your hostess seats you in the far corner of a half empty restaurant with silver wear still on the floor you wonder if your even welcome. After asking for a better seat we were reseated apparently upsetting the waiter. We should have left then but my buddy convinced me to stay. After about 10 min I was served a much needed beer. Thinking the negativity from the waiter was finally subsiding we placed our order for 2 full slabs of ribs one dry rub, one original. But you guessed it, both came out original. I know good service is hard to find but this was too much. Maybe try another location.

Not bad bar-b-q. Not the best but definitely not the worst. My brisket and ribs ComboI was plentiful. Brisket was very tender –cut with a fork. Ribs were tender and fall off the bone but not very meaty. I liked the coleslaw side but the potato salad was«who cares«. Service was very quck and attentive. Our group never felt rushed. Drink refills were frequent. We’ll go back, it’s worth the trip.

I’ve been to this location and to the one on the westside of El Paso, and I find the quality of the food on the westside much better than here. I felt like most of my food was cold or dry making it slightly unappetizing. I really feel like we should have chosen a different restaurant to goto.

I’ve had brisket from several places but the brisket here is nothing to get excited about. They say the ribs here have won several awards but those did not impress me either. The brisket is soft and tender but the meat itself feels like old meat and unatural. Service was slow at first. took 10 min to bring us our drinks but after that service improved. Manager is great offering a substitute food in place of the brisket so over all come to try it out if you wish but i’ve personally had much better bbq at other places.

Pretty good portion size and taste. Just a note if you are ordering the ribs for the kids you may want to tell them no sauce since ours was a little too spicy for him.

In my opinion the food was ok. I was seated at a table in the bar. I gave my drink order(unsweetened tea) and got sweet tea instead. I placed my order and it came out quickly. I couldn’t start eating until I could flag down a different server to get utensils. I’ve been here before and food/service was much better. Maybe next time.

Was passing through El Paso from Sa and stayed on the east side of town. I’m not big on BBQ but the hotel clerk recommended it so we went in for dinner. Wow… the ribs were sensational and their bread pudding was to die for. The server said that they won awards for their food and I believe it. Try their rib tips too, the meat is super tender, will definitely return to a Famous Daves

On our first visit, my husband and I ordered the 2 – 3 person feast with ribs, brisket, corn on the cob, chicken, 2 corn muffins, beans, and coleslaw. We also ordered rib tips and a side of mac-n-cheese, a sweet tea, strawberry lemonade, and water. Our waiter was Chris. My husband got his sweet tea about 5 minutes after our order, then another few minutes and I got my water, and then another few minutes goes by and Chris drops off my strawberry lemonade. I don’t know what was going on there, but as my DH says, «It’s whatever.» His sweet tea was good, and so was my lemonade. Our rib tips were served soon after, and we picked our sauces(my husband likes the sweet and tangy, and I like the Texas pit). Most of the tips were very tender and juicy and tasty, but there were a few that were dry and stringy. They all had a great seasoning. The feast was served about 20 – 25 minutes after the order. Remember the mac-n-cheese? Yeah, we had to remind the waiter about that and it was delivered a few minutes after the feast. I really liked it. Really creamy and maybe I’m a weirdo, but I liked the jalapenos and corn in it. :) So, the feast. The brisket was served with one slice of barely-toasted toast, but it had really good flavor and was almost fall-off-the-bone moist. My husband was eating the ribs, and he said he liked the tips better because they had a lot more meat than the St. Louis ribs. The chicken was delicious and so juicy. The corn muffins were amazing, so sweet, and seemed to have a little sort of honey glaze muffin top. Loved them! Baked beans were okay, not really special, and the coleslaw was soupy(not creamy) and had a LOT of onions, and they had a bite to them. Our second visit, the next day for the Monday all-you-can-eat rip tips, was okay too. My basket of tips, the first few were so good, tender and juicy. The last 5 or so were tough, dry, and stringy. It hurt my teeth to try to chew them. My husband ordered two baskets, plus one to go. First basket was good, second was mostly tough, and third was good. The conclusion is that Famous Dave’s is inconsistent with their cooking method. I don’t like that because you don’t know if you’re going to get good, tender meat or a ton of overcooked chunks. Oh, and their fries are barely salted, if at all.

Not too bad. We ordered the family feast thing for 4 people for about $ 60 and a bucket of 12 wings for another $ 10. Came with ribs, brisket, a chicken, corn, baked beans, and mac n cheese. The ribs were just alright. Some of the pieces were pretty hard and even inedible. Not much tender meat in there, but good bbq sauce. The brisket was pretty dry and unappealing, but not terrible. Decent smokey flavor. The chicken was actually pretty good, if a bit under-seasoned. The meat was mostly tender except for some of the breast meat. The corn was decent, beans were alright(probably canned), and the mac n cheese was weird(had corn and jalapenos in it), but good. I heard that the cornbread was pretty amazing, but they only gave us one piece and I lost because of seniority. We ordered the wings«Devil’s Spit» hot, which is one step above«Buffalo Hot» and just below the hottest. Needless to say, they were not hot at all. In fact, the wifey commented that the wing sauce tasted too much like sweet bbq sauce and did not eat any more of them. Overall, meh. probably would not return even if I lived in the area just because there are better things to be had. However, I do not consider the establishment across the street to be one of those things. But then again, I am not from El Paso.

It is odd that one can love Barbeque as long as I have and have never heard of Famous Dave’s, I noticed this place while changing tires next door and decided to try it. Pros: The Ribs and Brisket are quite yummy! I love how there are many sauces to try out, including ‘Georgia Mustard,’ ‘Texas Pit’, and ‘Devil’s Spit’. Have fun trying them all! The waiting staff is super friendly and the service is fast, you’ll love the casual atmosphere too! Cons: Dude, what is up with the Hot Links?! I have a high standard for sausage, especially from a bbq joint, and you can thank Rudy’s & Salt Lick for my discerning taste. The sausage here is sub-par, and that’s gonna cost them a star, good sausage is a must! Also its a little pricey. I had absolutely no idea they were a chain until I looked them up to Unilocal,it makes sense as the atmosphere is very chain-ish, but that’s not a bad thing. The food is good(except the sausage) and that’s all that matters to me.
