G2 is a spot that we have been to hundreds of times since it has been open, but as of the past year or two we forget about it. We decided to try it out for dinner salads(it’s summer and we are trying to eat healthy). We were very satisfied. I had the house salad with sashimi and no cheese and my husband had the Thai salad with coconut shrimp. Sashimi was perfect– just seared, not over cooked and very tasty. The Thai salad was tangy and paired with the coconut shrimp was perfect! The only complaint we had came from the bar– I wanted something bubbly and they were out of all 3 options listed on the menu. They had to open a bottle of something off the menu– still it was good, but the poor waitress had to come back to our table 3 times to let me know they were out of the selections. Side note: if you have a sweet tooth– try the cookie skillet, always a favorite.

The décor of this place is definitely outdated. However, the service we received was great. We were a little frustrated that the first beer and glass of wine they were out of or no longer carried despite being on the menu. We got the jalapeño cheese dip to start. It was very good but not what we thought it was going to be. It’s more like a beer cheese than a queso. The ribs for dinner were delicious as was the side of macaroni and cheese. The salmon had great flavor but was cold when it was served next to very hot veggies. Would have been better if the salmon was warm too. Overall, good experience and would go back to try other things on the menu.

Very trendy nice place. I’m from San Antonio and this place is great. The service is amazing. I had the seafood enchiladas which tasted delicious. I was surprised by the the mild spicy flavor but it added the perfect kick! My boyfriend always picks the best places

Had a fine meal at Geogeske on the last night of the last trip I’ll make to El Paso for quite a while. My tenderloin(rare) was perfectly prepared; my martini was mixed by a bartender who obviously knows her/his way around the classic drinks; and my waiter was patient with my request to slow down my meal in order to allow me to savor my martini while still having enough time to order a wine to go with my steak. The restaurant’s atmosphere is casual but gives the impression of being nice for couples looking for some quite conversation as well as for larger groups. All in all… a very enjoyable meal.

The mac and cheese in this place is the shit. Come here for any brunch/dinner party event! The drinks are cheaper than most places, which rocks since I don’t have a lot of money on me all the time! The atmosphere is trendy and nice, while still feeling like I don’t have to be in nice clothing. Love all the food! It gets popular so make sure to get a reservation. And George if youre reading this… hi: D

Part of the Geske family in town, I was excited to try this place and enjoy some apple glazed pork chops. Located in the UTEP area it was nice to not have to make the trek to the far east side to get my fix now that my family lives in the West Side Upper Valley area. It was a genuine shock to find out they had a private room for celebrations! This came in handy for my mom’s surprise birthday celebration and it was a huge success. The party room has it’s own fully equipped bar, tv screens, ample seating for 50 – 60 people and music. If there’s one thing about G2/Geske you can guarantee a solid meal and the fuzzy feelings of happiness from the food and drinks you had. Come on over for their happy hour and check out some of their featured specials. Keep in mind they do play live dj music at night time so if that’s not your flair make sure to catch an early dinner.

One of my favorite El Paso restaurants! G2 has a hip and fun atmosphere and great drinks(especially the apple martini). They have a variety of menu options as well. I love the house salad and the steaks. My favorite item however is the cookie skillet. This place is pretty popular and parking can be a problem as it is located downtown. However they offer a valet parking service in the evenings which is helpful.

We met a group of friends for lunch. I had the shaved prime rib sandwich and side veggies. Both were very good! Probably the best veggies I have eaten in El Paso. I would definitely eat here again.

I come here at least a couple of times every time I’m in El Paso. They are good for lunch, dinner, drinks, or even brunch. I normally get their house salad with grilled shrimp or ahi tuna, but on days where I’m not feeling so healthy I’ll order anything with a side of their Mac and cheese… It’s so good! :)

Finally made it out to Geogeske and I came away impressed. Food was good, bartender service(shout out to Shaggy for excellent service and perfect pours) was fantastic, and the ambience excellent. I ordered two drinks the Texas Mule and later a dirty vodka martini(which was legit). I ordered the seafood enchiladas which came with two sides. I chose the Caesar salad and the mac and cheese. The Caesar salad was a generous portion size. Instead of normal croutons they used croûton/bread crumbs throughout the salad. It was different but I think I prefer straight up croutons. Points for creativity. The seafood enchiladas were good. I love the presentation of the enchilads(putting the mac and cheese bowl on the plate was a little cluttered though) and the green sauce was delicious. The seafood mix they used was slightly disappointing though due the dryness of the mix. I kidna figured it would a be creamy seafood for some reason. Still pretty good. Just thought the dish tasted a little drier than it looked. The mac and cheese, although simple, was delicious. Penne pasta baked in gooey cheese with a little crust on top. Yum. I have read reviews that the restaurant is too dark. While I was there(around 8 pm on a Wednesday) I thought the lighting was perfect. Someone told me the manager likes to darken it later though. I would have to agree that any darker is too much. While I was there they had a guitarist and singer playing in the back of the restaurant. I dunno how the tables felt about it that was close to him but I thought he was pretty good. He was connected to the sound system so he came through nice and clear. Although the service was polite, it was a little slow. The food was slow to come out(but I liked the amount of time from salad to main meal). That being said the bartender was excellent(he boxed my leftovers up which I appreciate) and I enjoyed my experience at G2.

Meh. I’ve experienced better. I went here because Crave decided to close down at 12 noon on a Saturday. So I walked across the street and discovered a very normal looking menu at a normal price. The quality was about average. The service was pretty good. I felt let down. When you write a meh review the managers often call you and ask you what they did wrong. They didn’t do anything wrong. It was fine. I’m getting tired just remembering.

Great restaurant! Great food and service. Best seafood enchiladas and a wonderful crème brûlée for desert. House salad is the best I have ever had anywhere. You wont be disappointed.

Great place for happy hour until 7pm. After that the music seems to increase and be a little too loud for causal conversation. I am always happy with the food, pricing and service. Last visit I have the Bratwurst from the Bar Menu. I was a little surprised at the presentation. Basically they slice the brat up and spread it on a bed of sauerkraut with the addition of onion and Jalapenos. Overall I enjoyed it but honestly prefer my bray on a good bread. Their menu and drink menus are pretty extensive so I am confident you will find something of interest.

This was the second time eating here. We enjoyed our food both times. My iceberg lettuce wedge was $ 1 extra with my meal which was fine as it looked better than the Cesaer salads. The crab cakes came with a spicy dip. All the crab cakes I’ve ever had at restaurants have been chunks of crab. These were shredded. They were tasty & a nice size. The grilled vegetables were done perfectly(al dente) & had a wonderful light sauce topped with Romano cheese. The best veggies I’ve tasted thus far in El Paso. The seafood enchiladas were different from the first time we ate there. I didn’t taste them but were told there wasn’t much seafood in them, yet they were tasty.

Fun trendy place! Try it if you are in the area, you will be happy you did. We started with the chips & guacamole and it was spicy & delicious. I had the salmon sandwich with their Mac & cheese. My meal was fantastic. The sandwich was great, but the Mac & cheese was awesome. I tend to try Mac & cheese any chance I can. My husband had the ribs and fries and he really enjoyed his food too. It was a little pricey on the alcohol, but still a great place to try.

Strangely enough, I’ve only been to Geogeske(aka G2) a handful of times. The food is good and service is alright so overall it’s a good choice for some dinner and drinks. The few times I have been here I’ve had a salad which was pretty good and the mac ‘n cheese. From what I understand G2 and Geske’s Fire Grill have two different owners now, but for the most part I’d say their food is pretty dang similar. A little pricey, but quality stuff so it’s worth it. G2’s mac ranks in my top 10 for El Paso because it has the ridiculously cheesy-soupy consistency that I absolutely crave when eating mac ‘n cheese. I’ve also had the pot stickers which are pretty tasty made with chicken and served with a spicy soy sauce. On the weekend before 10PM, there’s almost always a wait. But all of the hosts and servers are nice. Not necessarily the fastest, but nice. I did have one incident where our servers switched halfway through our trip, but after our plates had already been cleared. Since our new server only checked on us once after switching, we almost forgot to pay. I think the main reason I don’t go to G2 more often even though I am a fan of their food is the fact that it’s like a club in there. Low, low lighting, but not in an intimate way, more like in a bar kind of way. And although they do have a full bar, G2 is a far cry from a bar since over 75% of the space is devoted to the restaurant. And the music. While they do play great music, it’s entirely too loud. To the point that you have to cozy up to your dining partner just to hold a conversation(regardless of if you want to or not). But again, I do like G2 and the eats they serve up. And it’s a great start to any night out or if you just want to feel like part of the night scene without having to go to a club.

A local favorite, and definitely one of mine. G2 is a great restaurant, perfect for lunch, although it’s always packed for dinner as well. The place is fun and trendy and always clean and well kept, which is super important to me. The food isn’t a culinary miracle but it’s delicious. It’s very consistent and you have a lot of options. Their cocktail, beer and wine selections is perfect, my favorite — the Bloody Mary and the strawberry margarita. Everyone’s favorite is the Mac and Cheese its a must when you visit G2. I also recently learned they make it with toreados(cooked and marinated jalapeños). Overall, G2 is a wonderful restaurant, that caters to every type of palate!

Food was pretty good. Too loud for conversation. And too loud for waitress to hear your order. We got the wrong food. But at least what we got wasn’t bad tasting! Probably would not go again but wasn’t bad food. There is just so many better food options in El Paso.

The food and music were good but the service is what made this experience«less-than». It is understandable that service will be slower on the weekend due to the influx of customers, however our waitress performed as if this was her 2nd week on the job. Thankfully for her, the gratuity was already included. My tip? «do better». After we finished eating it took over 45 mins to get the bills!!! Seriously? It wasn’t crowded by then either. She also lost a Patron’s card so we watched as she searched the trash can. Bathrooms? Gross, dirty and unattended after. I’ll stick to Geske’s on the eastside.
