So disappointing and kind of creepy. The guy that served us was trying to be nice but he was just awkward in general. He would hold weird conversations and stay at the table for an extremely long time. My father asked in a joking manner if he was Mo… And the guy actually responded that he was 3 shades too light and maybe a 100 lbs off of being Mo. Half of everything I tried ordering they were out of. I tried ordering macaroni and cheese as a side, apparently they were out. I ordered the chicken and waffles, asked for dark meat and then 20 minutes later he tells me their out of dark meat because they had packaging issues. I guess I was confused as well because the picture shows actual bone in chicken pieces and I was brought fried chicken strips. It had a really funky taste to it! The waffles were really soggy and also tasted like something was rotten in it. My father had the pork rib plate with coleslaw and potato salad. The ribs were okay-ish(cold). Anyways I will just have to keep looking for a somewhat decent BBQ place elsewhere.

My husband wanted to go here since we were in the area. I ordered the rib plate with mac n cheese and baked beans. My husband ordered brisket with mac n cheese. While my husband was placing the order with the hostess/server, the cook(I assume) came out and spoke to the young lady in a very rude and uncalled for manner in front of us, the guest. I wanted to say something to her, but since she was likely the one to make our food, I refrained. We ordered it to go, so while waiting for our food I took notice of the dust strings hanging from the ceiling, the caked up dirt against the baseboards, and the overall unkept nature of the place. So after about 20 minutes of waiting, the food came. It was very neatly placed in to go containers, not sloppy or anything. This is the only reason for 1 star(and because we can’t give anything less than 1. The first thing I tasted was the mac n cheese. It was bland, clumpy, and my first bite was my last bite. Next I tried the baked beans. Also bland, and I again could not bring myself to eat them. Hoping for a miracle– I try the ribs. The ribs had very little flavor, the bbq sauce taste better out of a bottle, but the one saving grace is the meat was tender. I ate 2 ribs and chucked it up as a lesson learned. My husband liked the brisket enough to finish it, but did not care for the bbq sauce and did not touch his double side of mac n cheese. Oh, we did eat the bread it came with. Not too sure what the onions were for. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. Has this place even passed inspection? I’m so disturbed and disappointed that I don’t even want to check my spelling on this review. It’s just not worth it.

My husband and I had dinner at mo’s last night. I am not one who is big on bbq but I’m glad I tried it the ribs were so good with out any sauce and the brisket was very good as well. Only thing I was up set about was they were out of Mac n cheese I’ve heard it was very good but will definitely go bk with or without Mac n cheese.

Today was 3rd visit at 5pm I tried to get BBQ to go and at least one item has been unavailable.(Brisket, ribs, etc). Today was told someone had called in a large order & would be at least an hour before brisket would be ready. Food is average from what I have tasted. Am canceling certificate for this restaurant. Going to Rudy’s. Ed

This place is, for lack of a better word, NASTY. Their bbq brisket was cold and the bbq beans had no flavor. When I walked in though I immediately went into«hood» mode in my mind. I felt like i needed to have some sort of mean mug on my face because the staff looked like they just came out of jail and were mad because they had to do community service there. Honestly, I think this place is a front for some other strange activity going on there. Anywaysssssss, don’t go there.

Mo’z gold hot wings. Best wings in town. ribs, brisket and pulled pork is very good. Awesome sweet potato pie. Fried okra was very tasty. Service can be slow but in this instant now society it is nice to slow down a bit. Moe comes out of the kitchen quite frequently, asks how you are doing how everything tasted, if there is anything he can do to help you. He remembers who you are, shares stories. Nobody does that now a days. Classic old school cook/owner. Great place, prices are very inexpensive.

Being from Kansas I go into BBQ places in El Paso with low expectations as it is. This places had the worst pulled pork I’ve ever tasted. It was soggy like it was boiled or something. On top of that the run off from the pulled pork drenched the fries making them soggy as well. To finish things up the waitress forgot my beans. The service was horrible, food was horrible would not recommend.

we visited Moz on a Friday evening. we were a little worried when the place was pretty empty but apparently alot of people hang out in the back bar area. After reading a bunch of bad Unilocal reviews we were hesitant to try but decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my hubby ordered pork ribs and brisket. I was pleasantly suprised with the waffles, soft and fluffy and moist. I wasnt thrilled about the chicken because it had an asian chicken taste rather than traditional fried chicken. The ribs were pretty tender and had a nice smoked flavor. the brisket was pretty good and moist. Although we were satisfied with our meal we wouldnt say its the best bbq in El Paso for that we recommend Stateline. overall a good dining experience and our served Tad was pretty helpful and friendly. Nice local neighborhood joint. would visit again.

Daniel correctly describes Mo’Z as a nice little neighborhood BBQ joint, don’t expect a major operation ready to satiate your every BBQ desire. I had a 3 meat combo platter at Mo’Z(sausage, brisket, and ribs), the meal was okay, the sausage is average, though the brisket is surprisingly tender and the ribs are decent. The sauce unfortunately, is rather bland and doesn’t add much flavor. The fries are actually quite terrific, I recommend them as your side. I visited Mo’Z because of a Groupon deal, so check to see if there’s one available.

This place is not very good. It would still be worth visiting if it were a bit cheaper. But instead you probably shouldn’t bother. The interior is a(clean) mess, but you didn’t walk in through that storefront expecting better. The service on my visit was unpolished, but quick and friendly enough. The food, alas, is distinctly mediocre. I ordered a combo plate with sausage and brisket. Both came out of the kitchen lukewarm and while neither over or undercooked were rather bland and strictly average in quality of meat. There was a BBQ sauce on it. Other than the fact it was red I can’t recall anything about it worth commentary. My sweet tea(a rarity in El Paso) was not particularly sweet, a bit watery, and had a slightly funny taste to it that made me question what kind of container it was mixed in. If it was super cheap I could forgive it, but I paid $ 12 for my two meat combo plate and tea. I’m not mad at the place, as I knew going it was a risk, but I won’t go again.

WOW! Super bad BBQ. Honestly this is the worst BBQ my wife and I have ever had. I had the ribs plate. It was not barbequed it was cooked in an oven. They were actually fatty country ribs. If they had been barbequed they would not have been full of fat, the fat would have melted off. They were not(wood cooked) smokey like true bbq is suppose to be. Had to search for the meat. My wife had brisket which was nothing to write home about. Thank god I had a Groupon as I would have really been pissed to pay full price. Save your money.

tried this place today. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. It was ok. the fries were pretty good but the pulled pork sandwich was about average. Ive had better before, but it was still good. It really was NOT worth 7 dollars though. Otherwise the taste was pretty good but still just about average.

I’ve been twice and for a local BBQ joint, it’s good enough. Since I don’t consider El Paso a part of Texas(If you’re from here you know what I mean) then the BBQ works. If you compared this real Texas BBQ they would fall short. The location’s parking sucks and the inside is small and just ignore the big exhaust fan in the ceiling. I will go back

I went to Mo’z on a weekday, no one was there. That should have been a sign. The bbq was cold! I had platter that had sausage, brisket and pork and they were all cold, I had to ask them to take it back and the just stuck the whole plate in the microwave(you could hear it, as the dining area is by the kitchen window) and when I got my food back, the potato salad and coleslaw were warm and my bbq was still cold! I would never go back there again.

I took my frien Melissa Jospeh to have some dinner before a night of clubbing, protien helps the drinking. I love bbq and I had been there once before, it wasn’t good either visits. It was very disappointing. The waitress was good, friendly and willing to sell the items on their menu. The cook was a pleasant addition, as far as admiring him but his cooking abilities are better set for burger king where microwaves are the way to providing a hot meal. He must have been 18 – 21, wearing a cap with all of the store stickers still on it, but this is a review on the place not his fashion. We placed our order, sausage with potato salad and brisket with a side of fries. We also ordered cocktails, which I must say were vere good, nice and strong. I must have had two long islands and a water and still no food. the place was cooled with a floor fan, and we were fanning ourselves the whole time. It was hot up in that joint, i mean its a small place to begin with, amd them to have it be a sauna, yuck! But I guess with the lack of customers, it would be an issue to get some refridgerated air. We were the only people there(I MEANIT, WEWERETHEONLYPEOPLEINTHERE), and the cook looked busy. We thought maybe the people in the bar were having orders made and thats why it was taking so long. We got up to use the restroom, and took a look in the bar area on the way back. There were 5 people and everyone was enjoying a cocktail, NOFOOD. Finally 45 minutes later our food arrived. The sausage was under cooked(i mean, I would think if its a BBQ place, there would be a char to the sausage, or at least cooked so its expanded some, but this was like if they had put it in the microwave and just heated it), the fries were good ! The brisket was dry and the bbq sauce was like watered down brown sugar with too much vinegar. The potato salad was not seasoned correctly and the celery was the flavor that really took over. So if you want to sweat like the pig on the sign, and have bad BBQ I encourage you to try it out. Its really a damn shame! The bar has good drinks, but the people who go are in their late 40’s(you wont find a sugar daddy or a cougar there), mostly an ethnic, no mix at all whats-so-ever. I love hole in the wall bars, and the people never really phase me, but here, its like you walk in and everyone is telling you of with the way they look at you. They don’t respond well to any new comers. The parking is horrible there! Over all the experiance was really bad. we will not be returning EVER!

Nice little neighborhood BBQ joint that sits about 20, with another 15 or so in the«Old Timer’s Lounge» in the back(although, you may get a cane shaken at you if you think you can just go back and grab a seat.) There is very little parking, like about 5 official spots. The food was pretty average as far as BBQ goes, but there are trophies for cooking competitions displayed, although I didn’t see any dated past 2004. My pulled pork sandwich wasn’t as pulled as I like it, but the flavor was good. Fries seem fresh cut and large, a little on the greasy side but that is fine by me. I didn’t see any«Mo’z Healthfood» signs anywhere. This place used to be «Bob’s Bar-b-que» which was Mo’z father’s place, which Mo took over about 5 years ago according to the staff we talked to. It has been at this location for about 15 years, but was on Alameda before that for another 12 or so years. I like Rudy’s, but I also love these types of local joints that have nostalgia and some history. I plan on stopping in again to check out all the meats, and will update if needed.
