Really nice place to hangout, or go for some gaming. If your not drinking you can still have a good time. If you do not have change the staff is nice enough to give you change for the machines. This place is very clean, including restrooms. Some days certain games are pending maintenance.

Friendly bartenders and good service. Cleverly themed drinks, but aren’t that tasty. The few that I had/tried were incredibly to overly sweet and I typically like sweet drinks. Though disappointed… the ambiance, other patrons, and staff made up for it. They have a great location and I had a great time.

Nostalgia! Sweet Nostalgia! I was really sad ELP doesn’t have a Dave and Busters because I’m a kid at heart. But Rubiks has really eased the pain with their throwback games AND music jams AND décor! We had two of the squishees. All that was missing was someone to say«thank you, come again» when we left the bar to play some games. ;) Will be returning because Shredder is taunting me in my dreams now.

This place was something else! I went in as I wandered by with a friend on a friday night. The place was bouncing with energy and certainly had a younger vibe(I’d say college or shortly there after is the real target demo) but my old butt was still pretty welcome. Bar service was pretty good, especially in light of the crowd, although I’m not shy about bellying up. The music is blasting so don’t expect great conversation, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be had. I found that the specialty drink(whatever it was) that I ordered was pretty much a sugar bomb and I would have been much better off without it. Additionally the prices are pretty high across the board. That said I had a great time and would stop back in if I was in the area.

By far one the coolest bars I’ve ever been to! It totally caters to the late 80s early 90s generations(25 – 34 crowd). It was honestly like reliving my childhood except alcohol was involved! Every single arcade game you can imagine from PacMan, Mortal Combat, Simpsons, Terminatros, Duck Hunt, Etc. Plus pinball machines too, some older like Kiss and Indiana Jones and new ones like Walking Dead. They also have some wickedly clever drinks some with pop rocks, gummy bears, and my favorite a Chamoy margarita! Sweet and spicy. Prices are also pretty good for drinks and the arcade games are only 25 cents like the old days! They plan old school MTV music videos, everything is 80s neon, they even have a Barbie box to take pics in, tire swings, giant tick tack toe, and a seesaw! Wish we had a bar like this in VA!

Loved this place on Wednesday night. Karaōke starts at 10. The guy had a great selection of songs and a very good sound system. Oh right, the bar. What a cool place! I’ve been to a couple arcade bars before in other cities and never particularly cared for them. But I really liked Rubiks. Its way bigger inside than you would think from the outside. It had a great selection of games. I jammed out(pun intended) to NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, the old school X-men game. Ahhhh memories. Service was fast at the bar. Drinks were reasonable priced. The mixed drinks were fairly weak. I got a vodka redbull to wake up. They don’t use redbull but the nasty substitute. Once I switched to beers there was no issue. Rolling rock(in a can, I’ve never seen Rolling Rock in a can before) was on sale for cheap. The people there were a fun crowd. The bartenders were nice, attentive, and very prompt with checking up on you if you needed anything. There was a really good crowd by 11 and a lot of the singers were really good. I will definitely be back for another Karaōke Wednesday!

When I was a kid, growing up in a small community on the Oregon coast, video games were all the rage. The home systems like Atari and Sega were just coming out with their first platform games, hot on the heels of ‘pong’. There were some serious full-size stand games being churned out from Japan, and the video arcade was born. My hometown arcade was called Earthport and I could only get there if my mom was going to the mall… I could tag along, she would give me a dollar and I could try my luck on DigDug or Donkey Kong. Spending an hour or two playing and watching others play video games were good times, indeed. Sadly, the death of the arcade came with the development of the modern home gaming console and more Internet gaming. Fewer and fewer arcades were able to survive without their legions of loyal gamers. Today, there are only a few examples of video arcades that I can tell you about: the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas NV, Pinballz in Austin, and Rubiks in El Paso. Rubiks is open 3p-2a daily, has a full bar and good music. It also has the largest assortment of pinball and full-size arcade games in the southwest. In fact, there is a big ‘challenge board’ that displays a bunch of ‘to beat’ scores for various pinball games along with their cash bounty… so, you beat the score, you get the cash! This is a GREAT place to kill a few hours, challenge your friends to a game of Tron, Donkey Kong or Galaga… and there are many other examples of great 80’s/90’s games for you to sink your teeth into and remember what it feels like to lose a pocketful of quarters and have nothing to show for it but carpal tunnel syndrome and a couple of new high scores… and walk out with an ear to ear grin, feeling like you invested a couple of hours to blow off some steam, already planning your next return to this adult playground. And I’m already itching to go back!

I’m reaching an age where reflection on my life weighs heavily on my daily thought and its places like Rubix Arcade Bar that capitalizes on that. It was only a matter of time before speciality lanes were carved out of the Dave & Busters model of gaming and guzzling. Air hockey and ales. Boss battles and beer. I’ll stop there. Anyways, it’s a specialty bar that hooks in the nostalgic soul with games of yore. Old arcade games riddle the walls and you can play then while you get hammered. The layout is really beneficial to the large crowd atmosphere that comes here on weekends and I gave them a great rating partially on the fact they had Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. Try it if you’re not familiar. Cool place and much more appealing then another bar in El Paso pushing a similar niche. Definitely worth a return.

The place is awesome, the only thing I was not happy about were the prices, other than that the place is awesome, the dj is on top of the music, great selection, outdoor patio has a few games such as connect four, 4 – 0 in my first visit, the bartenders were great, took a little time to get a drink but understandable for the amount of people at the bar. The arcade had all my childhood games except for metal slug, blitz, nba jam, etcetera. Overall I will be coming to this place again on a paycheck!

I LOVELOVE this place. If you like pin ball and arcade games this is your place! If you like drinking this is your place. If you like great pizza this is your place. Oh, you wanna patio… this is YOUR place! Servers are great as well! Drinks are so creative You have to come here. If you have little ones come on Sundays from 12 – 6 and have them see the games you used to play back in the day. Check out Rubiks, you won’t regret it. So many picture stations too. You just have to come and see for yourself!

I finally came in to check this place out! It was fun, they have a ton of video games, pinball games and the music was Awesome! I had high hopes for this place it it was great. I had the sour patch squishee and it was good. It’s like going to your childhood playing games but now with booze so it’s a lot better. the only reason I don’t give it a 5 star rating was because the service was a little blah. I only saw my server twice, once for my original drink then to pay, I had to flag down two different servers to get a drink because he was more interested in talking to the bartender. But besides that I am going back!!! I’ll post more pics next time!

What can you say about this place? It’s definitely one of kind in El Paso. Yes, I am aware of another«similar» barcade out on the east side. But for those that actually know games and pinball machines this place is legit. I’ve been to some of the best arcades in the nation including Galloping Ghost and Underground Retrocade in the Chicago burbs. The quality of games and pinball machines is right up there with them. Actually, this place has a respectable line up than most other places yet alone in El Paso. There is no other place in El Paso that even comes close to their selection. But don’t take my word for it check it out for yourself. I’ve been there many times. Oh yeah and did I mention almost all games are a quarter? Who doesn’t have a few quarters lying around? Anyway, go check out Rubiks Arcade. You won’t be disappointed. They have great drinks, fun atmosphere and a true legit arcade with pinball machines. What more could you ask for? Plus their selection keeps growing each month. I can’t wait to go back there and play Donkey Kong, Tron and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Cowabunga dude!!!

I went to this bar for the first time this passed weekend. Drinks were overpriced(5.50 for a Stella!!) and it took us waiting, staring at the bartenders for 10 minutes to finally get served. The arcade idea is cool but not worth going for overpriced drinks & then having to pay for games. There are other arcade bars that are cheaper & have free games(funkmeyers). Also, there was hardly any tables/chairs to sit down & talk with a small group of people. I don’t know, just not my kind of bar maybe. Wouldn’t recommend. Won’t be going back.

Fun. Y’all gotta try this place. They have games like Track and Field, my girlfriend whooped me btw. They have other retro games like Mortal Combat, Street Fighter, Punch Out, a bunch of pinball machines too. And all the games are .25¢! Then… they have a Squishee machine where they basically make adult squishees, so good. Now I know why the Kwiki-mart was such a popular place in Springfield. I didn’t get the barteneders name but he and the rest of the staff were on point. Even when you’re playing The Walking Dead pinball or something, the staff still checks if you need anything. The music was an 80’s and 90’s mix and videos playing. I have to admit, it was cool watching Sublime’s Santeria video. Memories of when MTV was about music and not pregnant 16yr olds. Great job guys and see y’all soon

Definitely a fun place to go back in time. The arcade machines really make it a different bar experience. They really have some gems for beer on tap that i liked. Personally my friends and I enjoyed the huge connect four game in the outside patio. We took pictures in the barbie box(of course) and not only to play but it was fun seeing all the old school games. It was kinda like being in a museum where they serve beer. The only thing i was concerned about was the amount of people they let in at one time. It was difficult to walk around the bar much less get to the bar. It’s new so i definitely understand the large crowds but if you’ve never been there the long lines might scare you away. Nevertheless go try it!

I went to Rubiks for the first time this weekend. I was excited to try an arcade bar. The first thing upon arrival that anyone will notice is the ambience of the place. The theme of this place is retro. There are posters and images of iconic 80s album covers on the wall. There are video monitors and screens projecting music videos adding some nostalgia to the place. On one side of the wall they have pinball machines that look fun and are fun. On the other side, along with all over the place, they have arcade games. They have games ranging from Mario Bros. to Mortal Kombat. There is a change machine just in case you don’t have some. The drinks I tried were the Lady in Pink, which was delicious. It was a combination of strawberry lemonade with some vodka. It was garnished with a cherry. I had two =) on my second glass it seemed like there was more vodka than lemonade. I also had an Eeyore which had ginger beer and some other things… I’m not that much of a liquor connoisseur. I tried the pulp fiction which is a spicy drink that was garnished with a slice of jalapeño. It was interesting nonetheless. In conclusion, this is a great place to hang out with friends to have a few drinks and play some retro video games. The ambience is great. I give this place a 4.5÷5. I will definitely be coming back and wish the business much luck.
