A great source for high quality, discounted fabric with stellar service. I recently re-upholstered my dining room chairs. It was my first attempt at this project, and the gentlemen at Texas Fabrics & Foam made things pretty simple. They greeted me instantly at the door and explained the layout of the store. Most of their fabrics are for upholstery, but there are a few racks of sheer organzas(?) for curtains or clothing and some vinyls for outdoor use. It’s a mix of high-end stuff that can run you $ 20-$ 30/yard, but there’s also a huge selection of nice fabrics for $ 9.95/yd. They also have a decent bargain bin near the entrance with all fabrics for $ 3.95/yd. Since the bolts are 54″ or wider, these prices are really a steal. They cut me a bunch of samples to take home and decide on. I replaced the decrepit old chair padding with comfy 2″ foam, which they cut for me when I brought in an outline of the seats. We finally picked out a fresh new fabric, asked for 2.5 yds, and they gave me about 6 inches extra, in case my measurements were off. The entire project cost $ 55 and we are super happy with the way the chairs turned out(see photo).
