I’ve tried the fish and chips, the impanadas, my husband tried the bacon and egg burger and we agree it’s great quality food. The beer selection is extensive almost like a library. The staff is extremely helpful in making selections and especially pairing your beer with food. The staff is always attentive. The atmosphere is good, but sometimes the music is too loud, however they do play nice chill music. I also smoked cigars here and enjoy their outdoor patio which is very private considering it’s on Mesa. You get a view of the mountain without the view of the street. Lorenzo the manager is a nice guy and welcoming. This is a great place for friends and group gatherings. Not romantic enough for a date night unless you’re both beer connoisseurs. I didn’t give them 5 stars because I think the ambience could use some work, for example more of a personal touch in the décor. Also, sometimes it’s too dark and you have to use cellphone light to read an extensive menu.

First experience here. I came on a Sunday at about 2pm, which means they were running their brunch menu. I had the Ribeye Sandwich and sweet potato fries. Truly excellent, among the best I have ever had. The bread was soft and fresh, the beef was cooked exactly as requested and had a delightful smokey taste. There was a garlic aioli with it which was an absolutely perfect pairing. The sweet potato fries were amazing, and usually don’t go for those! I washed it down with a hofbrau dunkle(also amazing) and enjoyed the laid back ambiance. I will be back with even more friends. Way to go monks!

Unexpected! I can’t say enough about Hoppy Monk. What a surprise in El Paso, TX. Awesome selection of craft beer. But hold up… The Porky Burger. Um wow. Pork Belly on a burger. This was amazing. I had to go back the next day to see if it could be duplicated. Well? It was just as awesome as the day before. Consistency is a great thing. But wait! There’s more! The sweet potato fries tasted like funnel cake. The staff is prompt even though they’re busy, quick with the order and the beer. Great experience, this will be added to my short list of go-to places when I travel.

We went over the weekend, great beer selection and pretty nice atmosphere. I ordered the rabbit tacos, they were very good, it would have been better if the portion was larger.

Food is a hit and miss but a huge drink selection. I don’t drink thus only 3 star rating. I’ve had the fox burger, the 3 burger sampler, the ribeye sandwich, the rabbit taco. I’ve always had the sweet potato fries for the side. Fox burger: variable. When it’s juicy it’s delicious but the second time I ordered was dry and tasteless. 3 burger sampler: always a good choice, esp if you like variety Ribeye sandwiches: always a good choice. It’s been consistently juicy and flavorful Rabbit taco: it’s cool to always try a different kind of meat but this one will def disappoint you. It basically tastes like dry chicken wrapped in paper. Chocolate cake: what a rip-off! It just looks like someone’s left over!!!

This place was amazing. Great patio setting and HUGE beer selection. I had the rib eye sandwich with regular fries and then their house ice cream for desert. I forget which beer I had but it was a hef and our server recommended it. The only think that was kind of a bummer was a lot of stuff that was recommended on Unilocal they were out of stock of. Will just have to come back!

I guess the only good thing here is the beer, the food was all pretty gross. I had the four seasons pizza and couldn’t even pick it up because it was so soggy. I also wish I would of know this place is not kid friendly at all, so parents be aware! Theres no kids menu and almost everything has some spice you can’t remove apparently. So I got stuck ordering her these 11 dollar hamburger slides that she refused to eat! Haha! The staff was friendly but when we arrived the place was basically empty, definitely way over priced!

Great place to go hang out and enjoy your company and a good drink. With a wide variety they can accommodate any taste buds out there. The service is great and did I mention they also have food you can order if yore hungry. Overall good experience will go back.

I come to El Paso for business and every time I make it to the Hoppy Monk. Today I had a ribeye sandwich, only in Texas I guess lol. Service is friendly and fast, selection for food is unique and beer selection is excellent. This is not your place if you don’t like decisions, they must have 200 beers on tap! The indoor/outdoor layout gives an otherwise tavern like feel a cool, Ashville NC, Austin TX, or Portland ME feel. They sell cigars, tequila and whisky too if you want to kick the night up a notch.

It was the first and still the best craft beer place in El Paso. This place gets really busy during the weekends so if you like a more relaxed atmosphere then go during lunch or early evening. Food is good, fresh, and comes out quickly. My favorite is the Fish & Chips, a little pricey $ 15 but that’s ok I really like it. Hell I really just come here for their amazing selection of beers. I always try to make it a point to order something different. They do rotate quite a few different styles of beer so don’t be afraid to try things. Don’t be shy about asking for samples of beers you’re curious about. They definitely want you to enjoy your beverage. If you just order at random and dislike it, tough @#$% and I totally agree with that. This is definitely my go to place if I’m looking to introduce someone to craft beer.

Had a wonderful dinner here some time ago, but this was our first try at brunch, and it didn’t disappoint. Everything from the French Press coffee to the last bite of food was out of this world. I had the awesome blueberry stout French toast with an included side of homemade Hoppy sausage. Wow is all I can say. Service was excellent-attentive and pro active without the smothering effect. The icing on the cake is it is very close to home and locally owned. We are so glad we can add a new stop on our Sunday breakfast rotation.

Came here on 30 January. They have a great craft beer selection and food. It was a little crowded when I went but not too loud. I ordered a few appeitzers, the gochu wings and the mini burgers. The wings were a very good combination of sweet and spicy. I got the mini burgers because they had so many regular burgers I wanted to try this was a good way to try most of them. I also had the porky burger which was the only burger that wasn’t park of the mini burger selection. It had a large piece of pork belly and the glaze on it was good. I also has the Mac of the moment with it which changes daily.

This is a great place to hang out. It’s mellow, but upbeat and the menus for food and drinks are great. We met with a couple family members that live in the area and it was the perfect setting for catching up. Pommes Frites($ 6) with your choice of 3 aïoli. The fries are very tasty; crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. We chose Spicy Roasted Red Pepper, Basil, and Citrus for our dips. I didn’t really love any of the aïoli, however, the sauce that came with our wings tasted amazing with the fries. «Hop» Wings in Milk Stout BeerBQ($ 10): Another great-tasting dish! I really enjoyed the beer-infused BBQ sauce. The dipping sauce was awesome(I can’t remember what it was though!). Mini Monks($ 10): Duchesse de Bourgogne onion jam, aged cheddar, aïoli, Blue Fox and Farouk sliders. All their sliders were 50% off on Wednesdays, so these were just $ 5. Wonderful flavors and a fantastic deal! We were really pleased with the food. It was much better than I was expecting from a beer spot. And of course, the beer selections were impressive. Ruben loves trying new beers and having a lot of offerings from local and surrounding micro breweries was a great experience. Wild West Flight($ 11): Saint Arnold Icon Green 2015 Amarillo Hefeweizen(Houston, TX) Rahr & Sons Texas Red Lager(Fort Worth, TX) St. Arnold Endeavour Imperial IPA(Houston, TX) Santa Fe Java Stout American Imperial Stout(Santa Fe, NM) Real Ales Devils Backbone Tripel(Blanco, TX) I’m not a big beer drinker, but I do enjoy a couple and I was very happy to find these beers on the menu: Fruli Strawberry and Lindeman’s Peche. It’s hard enough to find Fruli on tap, so I was beyond content.

Whoa! Once you get around the outside odor of fresh garbage, it’s actually very pleasant inside. Beware that the further back you sit, the darker it is so you’ll need to break out your phone for a flashlight.(The above is the reason for the 4 stars) When you get past all of that, it’s time to eat and drink we arrived just in time for happy hour in which the have 3 spirits, 3 cocktails and about a dozen beers. Got to try the Ward 8, it’s kind of like a classic bourbon sour and it’s served on one giant cube. Ordered the bacon and egg burger and the duchess, both of which came with a side(we choose fries) and a dipping sauce. At first glance the fries were soggy and not very good. Once dipped in sauce they became tasty(or we were drunk). Our server Angelica was very friendly and even engaged in our little debate over what song was in the Space Jam movie lol. Kudos for that! I’d definitely come back when I’m in town, they just need to febreeze their entrance.

We went for Boxing Day lunch and the beer was excellent. We had the Weihenstafen Hefeweizen and a Belgian raspberry beer. Both were excellent. Raspberry beer was so good that I went for a second one. Food was so-so and the quality varied. We ordered chicken wings(excellent), macncheese(too cheesy/milky), sweet potato fries(okay), vegan empanadas(stuffing too salty for my taste), and sliders(the pineapple dressing overpowered everything else, looks better than it tastes). If the beer was not that good and the chicken wings are not excellent, I would have comfortably given a three star review.

This place really is amazing, and i do believe it deserves the 5 stars. My only gripe? Well we’ll get to that in a second, first let me get out all of the super awesome o stuff that i found great about this place. I had always wanted to come here, yet due to its location and the fact that Mesa street tends to get pretty hectic around lunch time i had yet to come. Buddy of mine was in town and he had really liked this place, so i decided to join him for a late lunch/dinner. First off the look of the place is dope, feels like you are walking into an old tavern with the heavy wooden doors at the entrance. First thing that catches your eye is the wall of draft. Seriously tap after tap of different beers line up the entire bar area and its really something to kind of gawk at. We scuddled to our table and were promptly greeted by our server, who by the way knew my friend by name(so either he was coming here a tad too often or the servers here really do have an amazing memory) and were offered to get their beer of the day. My buddy elected to get it, while i decided on a water. I had to check out their beer selection before making any hasty choices as to what i was going to drink. We ended up getting their Fois Gras(sp). It was good, but since it was my first time trying it i can’t really say if it was amazing or just pretty much what any Fois Gras tastes like. I ended up getting the Farouk burger, it was juicy, nice and big, and the marinated tomatoes made it a great choice for my dinner. Now to the only problem of the entire visit. I couldn’t see $#*&! Seriously guys, i understand dimming the lights a bit in order to set the mood, but we were sitting in almost complete darkness. I had to take out my phone to be able to read the menu, and that i think is a tad too ridiculous. The place is a great place to go to try out new beers and shoot the proverbial one with friends, the food is a good staple of what upscale barfood should be, and the staff is the friendliest i’ve encountered so far in these kinds of pub/restaurants. I’d definitely recommend a go, choose your beer and don’t forget your headlight!

The best thing I did in El Paso! Came in here because of the craft beer rep, and it didn’t disappoint. There was a ton of delicious micro brews with an emphasis on west coast styles yet plenty of variety for anyone who appreciates good beer. The second trip in I tried a burger and was pretty happy with the quality of food I got. I tried a lamb-burger that was on special and recommend you ask what their burger special is while your here. My favorite part was the atmosphere on their patio. A very open an social setting where I ended up mixing with a big group of local college students talking about the area, their studies, and whatever else came up for much of the evening. Table service was good and our server stayed on top of the need to keep our glasses full all night. An item to note that may be a plus or a minus for you is they sell cigars with smoking allowed only outside on the patio.

This place rocks! ! Dozens and dozens on beers on tap, specializing in BELGIAN beers, craft beers, flights of multiple types and artisan foods! I’m an immediate fan. The staff is relaxed and attentive. I ordered the half apricot Habanero wings half Hefferwizen BBQ wings. The apricot wings were sweet and spicy and the other a mild BBQ flavor. I prefer my wings more on the crispy side however these were tasty although they were well covered in sauce. I ordered the Rabbit Tacos as the entrée. Yes rabbit tacos, a meat Ive been wanting to taste. It came with three small tacos and a side of sweet spicy corn. The rabbit we done well, I would have prefered a larger taco to eat even more. Tacos were smaller then normal. The spicy sweet corn was delicious and hot. If you like beer and burgers this place is perfect for you. They also have a outdoor deck with wooden benches and a huge water fountain which pours water from old Draft beer spouts! Something you won’t forget seeing.

What a find in the middle of nowhere! Great outdoor patio seating, great service, great food and beer, what more could you ask for?! Came here on a sunday afternoon and sat outside to enjoy the sun, they have this beautiful water fountain using old beer taps as decoration, what a great idea! The food was scrumptious, and the beers were a plenty! Definitely recommend getting a flight, it’s $ 11 and it’s basically half of one of the small glasses, definitely a good deal! I ordered the biscuits and gravy– man soo delish– fried chicken with turkey chili– demolished it! Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the area, nothing quite like it!
