Quick look rating: 4⁄5 Food & Quality To note: This was a to go order and was fantastic! El Prado is on the north side of Taos. *Go with the chili relleños, rice & beans with a cold beer/lime. Fantastic! I had heard that there was a place in Taos that had a fantastic chili relleños and thought I would try this place out. Toribios, is on the north side of Taos as your heading out of town. The place looks beat up a little, but stick it out, the chili relleños will curl your toes! Family owned business that really puts out great food! On the walls there are plenty of yearly awards. My thoughts, let’s keep on to see about these chili relleños. Now mind you, you can’t do a take out and rate a place without trying the food while it’s hot and fresh. I cheated and finished my to go plate before I even left the place. But if you’re getting a plate to go up in the high country to fly fish, I do recommend it. My thoughts on the review and if I will be back is just wow! Wow! I can’t wait to come back!

Superior New Mexican food. I had the smothered chorizo burrito for breakfast. The best breakfast burrito I have ever had in 30 years. Very friendly staff too.

I had a totally fantastic smothered breakfast burrito, following another Unilocal review. It was… out of this world. I got it christmas style and I both chilis were perfect. The server was also SO nice, and the place had some real warmth to it. One of the three or four must-hit spots to eat in Taos for me.

Good food and quick service. Some of the best Mexican in town. There may be more delicious paces to eat in Taos, but you won’t find it at such a good price as Toribos. What they lack in flavor they make up for in service. They are adding on an expansion to the north side location too btw

Amazing! Had the shrimp tacos. So good. The service was really great as well. Our server was kind and polite and our food was brought out in a timely manner. My father had the breakfast burrito and said it was great as well. Good food and good service, would eat here the next time I visit New Mexico!

Great Mexican food. Can eat outdoors. Well-behaved dogs can sit under table. Green sauce on enchiladas perfect.

We took the advice of our fellow Unilocalers and stopped here for breakfast. My husband had the breakfast burrito with egg, potato, and sausage smothered in red chili and it was delicious! Perhaps just a few more potatoes in the burrito would have been nice. I had the Carne Asada burrito smothered in red chili and it was awesome! Only suggestion would be more garnish searved with our burritos. We ate on the patio which was clean and inviting with pots of gorgeous flowers around us. Nice place!

The food was all excellent! We were looking for breakfast and found this little restaurant. We had Chilaquiles, tacos and the omelet. Everything tasted excellent, although he warned; if you ask for something hot, it will be HOT! Chef/owner was very nice and friendly as well! He definitely had a passion for his food. We are already planning our next visit to this restaurant in the future!

Had always seen this place when I used to live a little more north of Taos. Finally had the chance to stop in and try this place today. This place reminds me of a food truck type atmosphere inside. The have a little window to order at and then they call out when you order is ready. They also have tables inside to sit and eat. Being that it was noon which is breakfast time in my life I decided to try the breakfast burrito. Let me tell you, these were good and they are not cheap with their portions. I scarfed that thing in under five minutes and then continued on to eat the one I bought for my girl. I was not impressed with their chile though as it tasted a bit more like a bell pepper instead of green chile. I definitely want to give this place another shot and try some of the lunch menu.

Got a chicken enchilada… Didnt think it could be so bad. Dry, flavorless, and only filled with chicken. Asked for no beans and double rice … Only got one serving of rice. $ 11 meal, maybe worth $ 7 Lady at the counter barely spoke English. Also had a chili relleno burrito in my order. The burrito was great and pretty cheap. Highly recommended if you’re gonna decide to come here Just Unsure how a Mexican place can have 5 stars without good enchiladas though

Orlando’s is overrated. That’s New Mexican, but not traditional Mexican. Want great flavor and service? Toribio’s is a casual, counter-service, authentic Mexican joint and you won’t be disappointed. Smother anything in their green chili sauce and you’ll wish your own mama had their recipe. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito, smothered, for $ 6 and it was mouthwateringly fantastic. This was my first time in Taos and I came back the next day for a steak(asada) burrito, also smothered. Delicious meat, exceptional(counter) service once again. I’m from San Diego and quite the critic of Mexican food. Try this place out! Oh, and the flan for dessert. Yea. That too.

Great food and great people. It’s small inside but they have outdoor seating under a shade. I had the burrito with carne asada and green chile sauce. Comes with a side of beans and rice.

Wow, I’ve got tot totally agree with the other reviewer who said this place was a sleeper. Holy cow – I did not expect my food to be as fantastic as it was! It’s a small place but clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly and everything on the menu looked good. I had the ground beef and bean burrito with christmas. It was everything you hope for in a burrito – bursting with flavor, yummy tortilla, and a generous size. I’ll absolutely be back!

My favorite food in Taos! my go-to when i need something fast and filling that will make me happy. I like that the food is not NEWMEXICAN per se, but more like MEXICANMEXICAN. Also helps that there are two locations, one at the junction by KTAO station, and one on the other end of town. Staff are nice, and there’s a ton of stuff to choose from: quesadillas, tamales, burritos, chimichangas, tacos, and burgers. I usually get a burrito, which is made to order(you can add beans, rice, salsa, pico de gallo, cheese, etc). My fave is the chicken mole burrito, which is medium spicy and not something you can find easily. Drinks include wine, beer, soda, juice boxes. There’s a covered outdoor patio to eat at(as well as tables inside), but not much of a scenic view :)

This is a real deal. I have been all over this town looking for some good refried beans just like they have at home(in San Diego). Found em! Price is right too! Worth the stop on the Southside or in El Prado
