Decent selection, but they DONOTACCEPTRETURNS! I I bought my husband a couple things but they didn’t fit. I didn’t think it would be a big deal as I had my receipt and it was only a week later when I went in to make the exchange/return. The new total was $ 51 dollars less than what I originally purchased and I was forced to take it on a gift card. It wouldn’t have been a big deal except they do not tell you this when you make a purchase. They should make it abundantly clear that they don’t accept returns when you make your purchase. I honestly didn’t even think about it since they didn’t mention it when I made my purchase and shops of their size(they have like 25 locations!) typically do accept returns. Not like they’re some little mom and pop board shop – this is a multi-million dollar chain! The only indication that they don’t accept returns is at the bottom of your receipt in small letters it says something to the affect of, «keep this receipt for any exchanges». And, by the way… If you’re looking at the message on your receipt, it’s already too late. Nordstrom carries pretty much all the same apparel brands, and they have a great return policy, so it’s unlikely that I will return to Active to purchase clothing(after I spend that $ 51 gift card, at least). What a buttf#@k…

Amazing customer service! I went in three times in the same week and each time Cliff went out of his way to helping me find everything I needed. Definitely one of the better active stores I’ve been too.

I“ve been to this Active location many times. Parking may be troublesome to find during weekends as the parking lot is shared by neighboring businesses. Upon entrance, the venue looks very large with a lot of room wot walk around. Directly in front is the checkout counter with staff members usually posted there. Music is normally playing in the background to set a mood. There is vast selection of street wear, skateboarding, and women’s clothing offered here. Prices for newer items seem a little more pricey. There seems to be huge shoe selection of skateboarding shoes always available. The venue also offers a skateboarding shop, so you can either get new parts or purchase a complete skateboard deck here. Staff seems to be limited here as theres usually only one or two people walking around. Staff seems very distant as they are usually young teenagers looking scared to approach customers and tend to stay hear the cash register. Overall an ok place to shop, but don’t except exceptional customer service here.

Great store with a wide selection of skate apparel that gets switched up seasonally. They have a great selection of shoes clothing and if they don’t have your size at this specific store the friendly staff will help you look for another nearby store that has what your looking for. I love this place and the employees always seem knowledgable and ready to help.

Just visited this store for the first time. Decent atmosphere, clean and organized. I had 6 – 7 salespeople ask me how I was doing and if I needed any help. I didn’t since I knew what I was looking for. Unfortunately I spent 20 minutes waiting in line for one of the only two registers to open up. How about less sales people walking around saying hi and more registers open especially the day after Christmas? Pros: awesome clothes, great store Cons: poor salespeople management, waiting in line to purchase while sales people are standing around sucks…

The shop was very large and we were helped graciously and surfer-like by Dylan, definitely surfed out in a good way as you would expect, but very helpful and knowledgeable. He really made the experience different and enjoyable. It was very apparent Ian and I had no clue what we wanted. «We need a long-board…» Here is a 57 year young man and 18 year old 6’2″ Ian staring blankly at who would become the evening«Skateboard Guru.» Dylan showed us several boards which all were very different. Some were long some were short; some looked like surf boards with wheels and others a modified tongue depressors. I narrowed it down for Dylan by asking which would be the safest and most practical for a kid who is shooting around from class with an unbalanced backpack. Tricks and maneuverability were second to getting from one place to another and not looking like a geek or breaking a neck. I threw out the name Sector 9, a skate board which was rated good and I liked the«video game» sound to it. The tops look cool, but the bottoms were awesome, some had really cool designs. The one we got was a Santa Cruz board with a medusa-look like me when I get up in the morning face – artwork on the underside. I reminded Ian he needed to superimpose the concept of a 30 pound backpack on his shoulders and a distracted mind upon the thought of gracefully and coolly cruising for class to class. With Dylan’s guidance and a couple a surgically spent ‘Benjamin’s,” Ian was set up to ride in style at LMU. While I diligently care for Ian Mazda CX-7 in my garage, Ian will be grinding up the walkways of higher education with his long-board. Huge upside for me: a great hamburger at The Counter right down the courtyard. You have to ask yourself: a skateboard and Hamburger together, a chance to spend some precious hours with my number one and only son, life just not get any better than that. O yea. I called Blue Cross to ask them if I was covered on a Long Board for accidents. At my age, I wanted to be sure it would not be considered an intentional act of border line Masochism; and open for examination as a psychological condition. I am not implying I may get a long board for myself… but how else will I be able to keep up with Ian? Life is predicated on sacrificed, and moments like this define us. On top of that, I walked into the LMU dorm carrying Ian’s new Long Board. There were a bunch of kids at the entrance, and, you know they looked at me… different. I casually flipped the board over in their midst exposing the fiery orange and red medusa underside and watched their expressions. It was not until one of the kids chirped out: «Hey is that Papa Ian?» Reality sometimes serves as a reality check. Next time Papa Ian is going to ride the Long Board straight into the dorm like a bat out of hell. Actually what gave me away was I was wearing my Jelly Belly T-Shirt. Come to think of I, I think I understand their mixed perceptions. Jelly Beans anybody?

Of the three locations I’ve been to, I like this location best. For the most part the customer service here is pretty good. Parking is not too difficult and it’s free. Although I’m bordering on the«too old to shop here line,» I can still find some good age appropriate stuff. Some of the name brands can be a bit pricey, but they do carry some lines that are way cheap– which as an avid shopper, I can appreciate.

Much respect to Active. So far everytime i go into active rideshop, I get a nice greeting. If you need help, they’re already way ahead of way by asking, and if you’re just browsing around, they give you the immediate heads up on what s discounts there are, and then they’re own their way. The 2 employees im familiar with is Nails, Mills or Nills, some nick name like that, who is better for asking for opinions on apparel and skate knowledge, then there’s nick, who is literally a encyclopedia of active merch. He knows what everything feels like and how everything fits, so if your not quite sure, yell NICK!
