My wife is crying. Not because she is unhappy but because she was so touched by the pure amazing humanity of this place. «People like this don’t exist anymore.» She says to me Allow me to explain. My wife is terribly allergic to garlic and we have to stay away from BBQ most of the time unless I’m making it at home. But we really wanted to try the Custard Beignets(or Donut Holes) so we stopped in after dinner. It was explained that these tasty treats are not for sale as they are given away with the delicious BBQ. When I explained that the reason we can’t eat there is because my wife is allergic to garlic we were handed over four of them with a smile and wished a «Happy Super Bowl Weekend!» In a world that is so jacked up with so many people with so much disregard for other people, this kind gesture will never be forgotten. And this guy is going to be a loyal customer for life. We were touched by Britt’s story and now we’re touched by you. You rock!

My sister and I came in with the Groupon deal(2 sandwiches and 2 sides) and we were very impressed! We both had the pulled chicken sandwich with mac and cheese as our side. Delicious! The service was OUTSTANDING! The woman working could not have been nicer. I love the neighborhood feel of this place!

This place is amazing! I just had dinner here and had to write a review(it was that delicious). My boyfriend and I have been looking for a bbq restaurant near us and we’re glad we found this gem. We started off with the potato rounds, entrees were the baby back ribs, fried chicken and pulled pork melt. Everything was perfect, the ribs were perfectly seasoned and tender. The fried chicken was smoked and breaded to perfection, the pork melt smothered in Mac and cheese was my absolute favorite! The complimentary donut hole filled with custard was a nice treat to end our meal. I can’t wait to come back!

It was a very good place to eat. They had some good BBQ, it’s always good when you can eat the BBQ by itself. If you prefer sauce then you are going to enjoy their BBQ Sauce. They had the Best Sweet Tea in California, I am from Texas and have been looking for some Sweet tea since I moved here. I can finally say I have found some good Sweet Tea.

The Groupon two sandwiches w/two sides is an excellent deal. The pulled pork had good flavor, but without the deal, $ 8.95 is too expensive for that sandwich without any sides. I also got the beef brisket sandwich in addition at the regular price of $ 10.95. Not worth it. It was on the dry side and not the quantity to match the price. The BBQ sauce is pretty good though.

The best BBQ I’ve had in beachy cities California. This small intimate family owned restaurant reminds you of good ol’ Southern style BBQ! My hubby and I had the BBQ ribs and chicken and it was perfect; he’s from Texas and has had plentiful BBQ in his lifetime and he approves! Oh, and the cornbread is so good! I prefer to have it without the butter; it was perfect. Evelyn who was working was so sweet. She gave us samples of the sweet tea, took the time to introduce herself to us and even bagged a few beignets for us to take home. The food was amazing on its own but the customer service made our experience over the top! Lastly, kids under 12 eat complimentary with a paying adult which I thought was so nice and definitely not something you will find at any food chain restaurants.

This place was soooooo good! I had the Pulled Pork Melt on Texas Toast which was amazing. It was bursting with flavor, and the barbeque sauce was really tasty. I had a side of tator tots as well which were also very good, well seasoned and crispy. It’s also BYOB! Would definitely come back!

Are you sick of chain BBQ restaurants with no character and overproduced flavor? I like getting away from chains when possible — not always easy in SoCal — but sometimes the other options are overpriced and overhyped trendy spots, gastropubs and the like. We dropped in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a small mom & pop type place, and from some of the personalized bricks on the wall and a couple stickers to «Donate Life» my guess is that it’s named for a child who passed away. It’s got a homey feel to it, rustic tables and some benches out front. Simple menu featuring their ribs, chicken, brisket and hot links plus chalkboard daily specials with some nice sides and salads. I went with Britt’s Bowl and it exceeded my expectations. BBQ beans topped with brisket, pork and sliced links. Perfect flavors and sauces. My wife had one of the specials — pork & Mac n Cheese sandwich with BBQ dipping sauce. Nice bread, almost like a Monte Cristo with cheese on the top & bottom. No one is trying to impress you here. Just kind customer service and very tasty food. I loved the heart and soul here and really enjoyed the southern BBQ flavors. We live 50 miles away, but next time I’m up here, I’ll be back.

So for food by itself 4 – 5 stars. So came in to eat today with two of my co workers, place was packed. Went up to order and asked for my food to go. Due to the fact, there where no tables at the time. After waiting 10 minutes, a table open up and we went to go sit down, a older woman came over rudely and ask if we where going to dine in instead. Like it was now an inconvenience since I was a to go order. We sat at the table for 40 minutes before i noticed that the was a bag siting behind the counter. I walked up to the cash wrap to check on our order and the other woman working said she would find out the status. I went back to my seat and the woman told me, my food had been siting behind the counter. We where siting at a table for 45 – 50 minutes with out thinking to bring us our food. They didn’t offer refills on our drinks. If they didn’t know we order and we are siting at a table, you would think they would have came over and taken our order or asked if we need anything. Very disappointed.

It pains me to give Britt’s two stars because the people who work there are great. Had this review been about customer service, I would have given the place 5 stars. But it is not… THEGOOD: Friendly, sweet, helpful and accommodating staff. The nicest people. THEBAD: Pulled pork wasn’t pulled, didn’t taste smoked and wasn’t seasoned well. Cole slaw was bland. The BBQ sauce was vinegary, watery and very thin. Assuming that there may be some people who like this style of BBQ sauce, it’d be nice if there was a variety of BBQ sauces to choose from, like there is in many a BBQ joint. THEUGLY: I like my buns warm and I do NOT like them mushy and soggy.(Yes, applies to mine too… :)) The Britt’s BBQ buns are the worst I’ve ever had: cheapest quality of white bread, cold, under-baked and soggy. When one pushes down on it with a finger, the indentation never pops back — it’s that soggy and mushy. In a BBQ sandwich a good bun is as essential as good rice is in sushi. Having such great staff as a backbone, Britt’s owners, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to fix the flavor issues and then, please get your buns over to a good bakery supplier and get some decent tight buns. I’d love to come back and say, «Oh, hot buns!»

Had the $ 15.90 near combo. I chose St. Louis ribs(3 ribs) and pulled pork! If you’re looking for authentic BBQ food, this is it. Britney’s the place to be. The combo comes with 2 sides and I had mac&cheese + potato salad! It was overwhelming and I was so full at the end of the meal! What’s best is the free 2 hour parking on the left side of the shop! I love the rustic woody deco of the place! A must try for rib &BBQ cravers:)

I purchased a Groupon and decided to have a Saturday lunch with my brother here. This is a family business, and I give the service 5 stars. It was actually a little cute, as by the end of our lunch, our server’s assistant was about 10 years old, and so completely polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the best part of the food was the little dessert they provided at the end. Our Groupon was for sandwiches. I had the chicken, my brother had the pork. The sauce was ok, but slightly kicky. I wanted to order the mac n cheese as a side, but they were out, so I ordered the BBQ beans, for which«kicky» was a significant understatement. My brother had the beefy-mac side, which he didn’t give me a chance to try. I have to admit, I wish the food would have been more agreeable because I really liked the small, family kitchen, type of atmosphere of the place. I even left thinking I would eventually give them a second chance, as I had purchased 2 Groupons for this location because it’s nearby. But the way the heartburn kicked up(and I am like steel and do not get acid issues!), I ended up coming home and requesting a refund for the second Groupon. Overall experience is a generous 3, with recognition for the fact that some people like the heat turned up in their food.

If you’re hungry and waiting for a flight or just happened to land with the craziest bbq craving, then this is the place to go to when airport food just doesn’t cut it. It’s a 7 – 10 min drive from the airport and is sandwiched between a couple cafes. Came in an hour before closing, only to find a few patrons ordering to go. My sister and I ordered the st louis ribs and brisket combo, with chili mac and potato salad on the side. The quality of the ribs is average. Not really the fall off the bone type quality. Brisket was very tender and juicy-the better of the two meat choices. But the saving grace was their hot sauce and spicy bbq sauce. Very tasty and mouth-watering sauces. Chili mac was not what we expected, and came out very bland. Potato salad wasn’t bad; not really something that stood out. Sweet Tea was a bit watered down as well. Best part was probably the free crème-filled beignets we were given at the end. So freaking delicious, and not just because they’re free. Although our experience wasn’t that great, I would def come back whenever I’m in the area. Seems like I f’ed up not ordering either of the melts and their fried chicken. Still, way better bbq in Compton/LBC and Phil’s in SD. Bonus points for a clean bathroom, which features a barrel as it’s sink!

Damn! Food was good, Barbecue Bombshell! I like this place which does a good job at being authentic southern bbq. I also love the story behind the place. Britt was the daughter of the owner who tragically passed away much too young and her father decided to open a restaurant in her honor with his recipes which are all family-owned. Great spot, you must try the smoked fried chicken. Boom! The 3PS breakdown: Place: simple casual dining and comfortable checkered table cloth style restaurant. I took the bench outside and walked over next door to get a few beers since they don’t serve alcohol there. There’s nothing that special about the place, but the location is great and feels like a trip back in time to the 60s or 70s of eating in a little restaurant right off the street. Product: Damn Damn Good. It’s always so easy to overdo it with BBQ because it just seems like there are so many options you want to try and then you wanna through in a few fixins and have some cornbread, you’re gonna end up taking home some leftovers. Had the Brisket, the Smoked Fried Chicken, Pork ribs, and the Pulled Pork with baked beans, cole slaw(just sweet enough), and dripped butter over a nice cornbread biscuit. It would be awesome if they just got a beer/wine license and they could do a direct draw system for some Texas or Southern Style beers. People: mostly families there. A very nice middle-income option, because BBQ can be expensive. But I like that and it’s mostly a lunch place. Service: nice enough. They’re friendly at the counter, and all the people who work there were Britt’s relatives.

Small family owned and run place. Very nice people! Found out that it was opened in memory of the owner’s college-age daughter, who was killed in a car. This family kindly donated her organs to others, which explains the«donate life» stickers all-around. What a beautiful way to remember a family member… Giving back to the community in this way. The food is very flavorful! The cucumber salad is actually a little on the spicy side for me, but the beef short ribs were just about perfect. The cornbread was absolutely delicious! Note: ask for the cornbread without butter. It doesn’t need it. I appreciate that they don’t add bacon to their beans — They don’t need it, anyway. Top off a good meal with some lovely people, and you’ve got a place where it’s coming back to. And they have a locale in San Pedro, too…

Staff was super nice and friendly. They also gave me a free dessert with my order. However, the BBQ wasn’t as good as other’s that I’ve had but it wasn’t bad either. Mac n Cheese was a bit like the kind that comes from the box. Cole Slaw tasted very watered down. Ordered the St Louis Ribs and Sausage, it was decent.

When in El Segundo, it is usually hard for me to go anywhere but Big Mike’s, which is a shame cause there are some other places in town that I am very interested in trying. Yesterday, we were supposed to have a vendor lunch with Bludso’s Barbecue. However, last minute it got changed to Urth Caffe(ugh). Still with the itch for barbecue later in the day, I convinced myself to try something different in El Segundo while waiting for my girlfriend to arrive at the airport. So…Britt’s BBQ it was. They have one or two tables outside and a small place with about 10 tables inside. A very-family friendly place, most of the groups dining had children with them. Unlike at some other barbecue spots, children(and me) must love coming here since they offer mac and cheese as a side as opposed to just baked beans. I opted for the 2 Meat Combo, which came out to about $ 18 after tax and included two sides. Going with the brisket and tri-tip, both came drenched in their BBQ sauce. A hearty portion, I ended up not even finishing it all. The barbecue was good, sauce thin in contrast to some places which feature a thicker bbq sauce. The brisket was a little fatty, but that would really be my only main complaint. The mac and cheese was also tasty. I would have no problem returning to Britt’s when I need a break from Big Mike’s.
