Sad to report that Mandy’s El Segundo has closed their doors. The space is up for lease, with a big pile of mail on the floor inside the front door. Edit — just noticed several posts down that someone already posted about their closure a month ago. But in the area we still have Havanna next door, Steve’s Burgers, Main Street Café, Fantastic, Good Stuff, Blue Butterfly, and Wendy’s for our breakfast fix.

CLOSED after 15 years! Sad day when I saw sign in door today! My favorite breakfast place is history!

Mandy’s is apparently out of business. Went there today for lunch and there is a sign on the door thanking customers for 15 years, and it’s locked up and closed. That’s why I gave a one star.

Mandy’s provides great food, excellent service, and a most affordable price! In other words, tremendous value! Isabel, Valerie and staff are the hostesses with the mostest! Mandy’s provides for a Cheers-like environment, a place where everybody knows your name! I give Mandy’s Five-plus stars! I urge you all to come on down to partake in a restaurant that makes El Segundo part of «Mayberry, USA!»

Came here for breakfast — great food, the restaurant can invest into upgrading, it’s a little hole in the wall place However, WATCHOUTTHEYNICKLE and DIMEONEVERYTHING. My husband and I got a BBQ sauce and Ranch dressing, each were charged .95 cents. I’m sorry don’t you usually give your customers a heads up «it will be 95 cents more is that ok?» Our breakfast should be around $ 18, but our bill came out to be about $ 27 with the small things they added? We complained to the waitress and the manager and nothing was done. Please watch out, this place rip off their clients. Also, it’s a CASHONLY place — it’s such an inconvenience as we don’t carry much cash — there are these things called credit card that most people are using. Needless to say — we wont’ be going back again.

The food is alright the pricing is alright the décor needs a little bit of help and they do not accept credit cards which is an inconvenience for customers.

Mandy’s is a small café/diner, with choices not just breakfast! But I would only go for the breakfast. Anyhow, short and sweet, this is one to label hole in the wall, literally hidden in caddy-corner in a mini strip mall. It’s not very bright & to be honest the décor is plain. But I’m not there to for the décor, it’s all about breakfast and getting on w/plans for the day. Service was friendly and fast, prices are reasonable. The only pet peeve I have with Mandy’s is that it’s «cash only». Time we came, was from a long road trip — anxious to get home & starving, worried that there was a cutoff for breakfast(I forget if it’s all day or just until 2pm) nonetheless, we asked & hubby walked across the street to get $$$$. Still, would have been nice as tired as he was from driving(yes our choice) to have worry about getting money out of an ATM. Maybe they should invest in getting an ATM machine for their customers? Anyhow, I would go back, just remember to bring cash with you. Parking was also a little headache. But I would do anything to stay in this slice of heaven we call home :)

Awful! My husband ordered the fish and chips and it looked like Gordon’s fish sticks. He said they were worse than that! Also had a hamburger that was paper thin. No way would I go back!

There’s 2 reasons why you go to Mandy’s. You’re either hungover or Wendy’s Place is packed. But the food is good at a good price, the staff is friendly, and it’s not as busy as Wendy’s Place. The only thing I have against this place is that the biscuits have always been on the dry side. Other than that, I like this place a lot. You should try it out sometime.

Your simple yet yummy café. Loved it and would eat here several times a week if I lived in LA.

Located in a strip mall parking can be very difficult, the staff is very friendly, the food was ok and the prices are reasonable. If you are in downtown El Segundo it is an option. I prefer Fantastic Café down the street for breakfast so I doubt we will be back.

The only reason it has one star is cuz i can’t give it zero. One word to describe this establishment: PUTRID! I ordered the breakfast special and it was absolutely repulsive. And when i say repulsive I mean it!!! I cant even finish this review because I have to go puke out my large intestine! Time to get my stomach pumped, Thanks Mandys!

So far I see this is a neighborhood breakfast spot, small staff, friendly to newcomers but you feel somewhat isolated while many people that know each other talk around you. We had: eggs benedict — very good… a little too much sauce though French toast — pretty good, a little dry though Denver omelette — very good Home fries — good, I added some salt to mine though Scrambled eggs with cheese — really good, they use cheddar but also offer american and jack Raisin toast — good but crunchy Service was good, very prompt. One thing I dont like is how they are hiding their letter grade«B.» It’s on the window but underneath one of the tables, the seating on the inside and iutside is strategically place to really keep it out of view. OMG. Two words: Breakfast Burrito! Always friendly, always delicious. Great deals as well. My son and his friends eat here all the time because of the hamburger special!

Mandy’s is a friendly, down-home sort of place that welcomes everyone. The prices are reasonable, the portions are LARGE and the service is GREAT! My current favorite is a Thursday lunch special; a BLT with perfect AVOCADO. I get it with tortilla soup instead of fries and with an Arnold Palmer to drink. YUM! But be careful; your drink will be refilled so many times that you’ll float away. Special thanks to co-owner Val, who tries super hard to make sure your dining experience is pleasant and delicious. Any problems or requests are dealt with quickly and with a smile! The customers are a friendly mix of regulars and newcomers of all ages and from all walks of life. There’s a really good vibe at Mandy’s. My only complaint, and its’ a BIG one, is that the Chicken Fried Steak is far too good. That makes it hard to resist and blows my diet. Oh well… ;) –John

Used to come here about 2 years ago. Was cheap, alot of options and relaxed environment. They took some items(mostly dinner or big portion entrees) off of the menu. They serve mostly breakfast and sandwhiches. The biggest complaint is that there are people there who blurt out opinions about politics and race. It makes non white non republican customers feel uncomfortable. Did i mention the racist remarks. A group of us work down the street(direct tv) and have experienced the racist remarks on multiple occasions. I will not return and if you are not white and not republican i suggest you do not come either

Mandy’s has great breakfast, and they serve it all day long. My son ordered a kids eggs with hash browns and bacon and toast, and ate ALL of it. I didn’t have to say anything. That speaks volumes IMO. I ordered a skillet with eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns topped with avocado. It was sooo yummy. I would totally get that again. The rest of the menu looked great too, with breakfast burritos and omelettes. The lunch sandwiches also looked tasty. We went during the week and it wasn’t busy. Great parking too.

My friend suggested Mandy’s because she said it was close to half the price of another breakfast spot we had frequented in the area. While I’m sure there are people for whom this is a major check in the plus column, for me the concept of value requires that the food is decent. I ordered the All American breakfast, and while it’s not the worst breakfast fare I’ve ever had, it’s definitely in the running. Or, should I say, it was almost worth what I spent. If your primary objective is to get a really cheap breakfast, Mandy’s is the place for you. Otherwise, stay away.
