Went for a early dinner and was not impressed. This restaurant gives you the illusion seafood well cooked and fresh. However, i felt like i had a throwback meal from the 90s. I ordered a raspberry milk, truffle French fries and the lump crab cake meal. Now first of all, the lump crab was not what I expected. Unfortunately like many others, I am still on the hunt for the perfect crab cake that I had out of boutique restaurant in Las Vegas. This is definitely not that. The lump crab cake was dry and heavily breaded. It locked any real flavor and there was no lemon on my plate that I could season it with. The dish came with a orozo and carrots. The crab cakes had a corn salsa drizzle on them. I was not a fan of the drizzle. But ruffled fries were delicious. You could taste the truffles. My raspberry mule was sweet but still have the elements of a Moscow Mule. Our service that night was okay. We were in offered water nor where we checked up on a. I will not go back to this restaurant. There are fresher options that reflect a more contemporary style of cooking.

This restaurant is one of the few remaining McCormick & Schmick’s in the Los Angeles area. I used to enjoy going to the Pasadena restaurant, but alas, business was too slow. In El Segundo, the clientele are more prevalent, and seem to keep this restaurant hopping, especially with all the graduation parties on this evening. Service was good, but not elegant, as I remember it used to be. I think our waiter was just too rushed to provide the necessary service that I was looking for. As for their food quality, I enjoy their sourdough bread the best! I think it’s even better than San Franciscan made bread. I think the seafood is still pretty good, although it was not spectacular, but maybe I just ordered the wrong fish tonight. Maybe something more exotic than Salmon would do better. Something I did get was $ 25.00 off for my annual birthday, which a Landry member gets to use within one month of their birthday. Also, a special dessert is available for free too! I just hope they keep this restaurant open because I love the bread, and availability of seafood of relatively high quality and generous servings.

Last week, our Happy hour food was so-so. Hummus with pita chips($ 3) sounds good but tasted so-so. The chips were refrigerated cold. Won’t order this next time. Our service was so-so. Our waitress brought out food but forgot napkin and silverware.

Dropped by here for a late happy hour after catching a flick at the ArcLight next door. Got the calamari and the mussels. The calamari, I felt was a little over battered compared to the last time I had it. The mussels are just as good as I remember. The prices are reasonable! Will return!

I’m giving this restaurant three stars because of the overall ambience, good service, and the prices that are not too bad for what I would consider to be an «upscale» place. However when it comes down to it, the food here is really nothing special. My wife had the stuffed salmon which was far blander than it should have been and I had the Tuna with sesame crust. While everything was ok, well, it was ok. Decent. Not great. Really the desserts were probably the best part of the meal. I generally do not like to eat at corporate restaurant chains when spending significant amounts of money out, and this was a good example why. The food was okay, some of it was probably made in advance(i.e., not super fresh), and was not particularly unique and certainly not very tasty. For the price, you can probably find better places to go. I was glad I was here using a gift certificate that was a present and not paying the dinner bill out of pocket.

I have always liked McCormick & Schmick’s, lots of good seafood choices, especially fish dishes. Had a late dinner here on a Friday night, got seated at one of those big private tables, was so relaxing and quiet. As usual, bottle of San Pellegrino, Pear spice martini and vodka & gin martini, obviously we started Friday night off the perfect way. We usually eat light on Fridays, clam chowder soup and half dozen of oysters as appetizers. Hubby loved the soup, he actually thinks they have the best New England clam chowder here. Kumamoto and blue point oysters were so fresh and sweet. For entrees I decided on spicy seared tuna paired with tuna tartare and lump crab tower with pineapple and avocado, a side of spinach and mushroom sauté. They were fresh with nice flavors, great with my refreshing Pear martinis. I enjoyed those dishes so much. Hubby had penne pasta with grilled salmon and veggies in pesto cream sauce, it was very flavorful and tasty. Food was so delicious, I have always liked the food flavors at this place! After finishing our meal with espresso and glass of 20 year port wine, we went to the bar to have a few more drinks. The bartender was very friendly and chatty, he made great martinis too. Again a typical great Friday night with good food and drinks, we just LOVE it! Ps. They have power lunch, 14 items for only $ 13.99 each.

Great place for a Business Dinner, Seafood was fresh, Steak looked good too!!! Met up with a colleague who was coming into town for a business dinner. We spent 31⁄2 hour there and were very well attended to… We began in the bar which was clean, full bar that served appetizers. We ate in the main dining room at a booth, the tables were spacious and the acoustics were good for talking. Wait staff was friendly and anticipatory of needs. I started with a Cesar salad, got an Albacore Tuna, prepared rare with Wasabi on broccoli, carrots and mashed potatoes. For desert, I got a sorbet which was well prepared. The person I dined with got a New York Steak which looked like it was prepared well and a good cut of beef. I would go here again if I had a colleague coming into LAX. 3 hour validated parking with dinner.

The service was very friendly here. We came on a weekday for lunch and it was a great dining experience. The food quality and quantity was great. We had the lunch special, providing a fair price and perfect portions. Parking is easy in the underground covered parking lot with free validation. On the Rosecrans restaurant row from Lawndale to Manhattan Beach /El Segundo, there are many dining options of varied cuisines. If you crave seafood, this is a great spot. They also have a Happy Hour special drink and food menu too.

This is my second visit to a McCormick & Schmick’s Happy Hour with my first only consisting of drinks and this one consisting of both food and drinks with some of the dishes being just ok and others great. To go along with my beers, I ordered the seafood stuffed mushrooms, the New York strip carpaccio, steamed mussels, calamari, and the McCormick’s cheeseburger. The carpaccio and the calamari were the hits of the night which were very flavorful and I loved the fried veggies with the calamari. The stuffed mushrooms leaned a bit more towards a fishier flavor than most I’ve tried but still decent. The mussels were great but the wine sauce was very salty. Last, the cheeseburger was filling but could have used a lot more seasoning on the meat which was sort of bland. However, the sweet pickles & cheese helped bring out more flavor and you can’t beat the cost of $ 5 for the cheeseburger and fries especially coming from a McCormick & Schmick’s. The beers were nice and cold just as my last visit. All and all, McCormick & Schmick’s still has one of the best Happy Hours around. The prices are great and you’ll get a decent helping of food and drinks that won’t break your wallet. Just an FYI, I recommend joining the Landry’s Club while visiting. It’s $ 25 to join but you receive the $ 25 back immediately for spending towards your meal once you register your card online(I used my phone) and you can begin accumulating points from each dollar spent which can be used towards future visits for food and drinks if you accumulate enough. I knew I would be spending about $ 25 dollars during the visit so it was a win win for me. It also can be used at other restaurants you’re given a list of such as Rainforest Café, Bubba Gump Shrimp, etc. Happy Hour 3÷11÷2016

This was our second time after about over 8 years in this location. Now we remember why it took us years to come back here. The food and service… awful! The DTLA and the Beverly Hills locations that we went to before had better food quality and service. I believe these locations have permanently closed(too bad). The only items i liked from what we ordered were their seasonal corn and crab soup AND the dolce sangria! Big disappointment!

Haven’t been to a McCormick’s in quite a while, and not really for any reason. Figured we would end vacation but doing dinner here this evening. Love the fact they offer valet service. The car was taken right away and no wait time to get it back. The valet guy was very courteous, opened doors for both of us etc. We were really torn on what to get, so best solution is get it all lol. We wanted to just share some stuff and go from there. We started with the kissing shrimp. These were awesome, I could have had them for a meal if I was alone. Really nice portions. There were 416⁄20(good size) shrimp stuffed with jack cheese and wrapped in bacon. Those were sitting on a corn salsa and then topped with thin fried onion rings. It looks like they make the onion rings fresh. We also opted to share a chopped salad, it had the right amount of dressing, and again thankfully we were sharing it because while it didn’t look like a ton on the plate, it was chopped so it was a pretty decent amount. We decided to share 2 entrees as we couldn’t make up our minds. The first one was the 8oz filet, it was cooked perfectly and was really tender. The only negative comment I have on this was the the way it looked on the plate. There was some blood on the plate which is ok, but it had sat under a heat lamp so the blood dried up and left a dried ring stain on the plate. Being In the industry I would have changed the plate before it went out. It didn’t change the taste which was on point. It was served with broccoli rabe and julienned carrots. We decided to share the ultimate mixed grill for our next choice as it had a sampling of four different things on it. Stuffed shrimp– this was awesome, not super bready, just enough to hold it. Wish they were a little bigger, should have had more stuffing but it was a sampler of all kinds of stuff so maybe that’s why it was a bit small. The salmon was a good size and cooked perfectly as well, I hate dried out salmon and this hit the spot. There were 2 seared scallops which was perfect serving however, I wish they were seared a bit better. I like a nice Caramelized outside and still a little cool in the middle– the last thing was a couple grilled shrimp again very tasty, would have served with a little lemon or a sauce or something. Service was ok, not great but definitely not horrible either. He was socializing with tables and they were slow this evening so I’m assuming there wasn’t a ton of need for extra staff etc. I’d go back next time I’m in town.

McCormick & Schmick’s has several locations around the United States, but this is the closest to where I live, so I decided to give it a try. Their menu changes quite frequently throughout the year to reflect the seasonality and availability of the freshest catch. I ordered the Maine lobster dinner with steamed red skinned potatoes and corn on the cob. My goodness… the lobster was simply and expertly steamed so the meat was still moist and tender. For dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. It was delicious too, but the burnt sugar top was a bit too thick. However, the custard had real vanilla beans, which is a huge plus! The service was impeccable and attentive without being overbearing. I have eaten at the other locations around So Cal, and I can say that the food and service are equally good.

Table of 4 ppl. I bring my lady. Server LAUREN first question to my lady is «how old are u». How unprofessional! So I call her LoLo then she gets RUDE to us!!! Just ask for her ID or something. But Lauren pretends to be ultra professional. Nice try shawty. Seems like an ex-Roscoes waitress. She got GHETTO on us!!! Jonathan saved the day as a manager kinda. JAMES is on her side like another female. Mgr JAMES jumped down my throat based on how dramatic Lauren got. He cared more about me using my phone than about resolving any situation– total amateur move. But this ain’t LAURENS kinda place. She brought another person to handle us cuz she couldn’t. But she still managed to threaten me from behind our replacement waiter.

My first time here at McCormicks was pretty darn good. I knocked a start off for the service for our waiter but the food was great and the hostess was very sweet. Me and my hunnie came for a dinner date night. The ambiance was nice and relaxing and the location is great as well. They have valet as well, but takes cash only, keep that in mind. We came Thanksgiving eve and it was quiet so i didnt understand why it took ten minutes for our waiter to come take a drink order. When he finally arrived he was nice, but just so slow during the evening. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer which was delicious but just too spicy with the horseradish on top so we asked for just plain cocktail sauce, the shrimp were a nice good size and were fresh. The cocktails were mixed really good as well, compliments to the bartender. My hunnie ordered a salad with strawberries and walnuts which was amazing and I ordered the mahi with a corn purée and crab hash underneath. It was pretty good. Overall, the food came out hot and the flavor were good. I enjoyed the variety of seafood they offered on the menu, you had an option to have it cooked a certain way which was a nice touch. We both said we would return and try the happy hour.

I love how attentive the hostess and servers are thanks for a great time. Nice ambience & smooth music playing. We had the Parmesan crusted flounder it was just OK; it was a bit soggy and buttery. I’ve had it before and it’s normally crispy crunchy with a little caper butter drizzle cooked to perfection… I’ll give it another shot I hope it won’t disappoint again. Other than that all of the sides: Rice, collard greens, mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, and margaritas were delicious. Enjoy!

I used to be a frequent visitor to McCormick and have liked their food, but haven’t been here for years. I think few years back, I would’ve given this a 4 star but now personally feel it to be only 3 star, as for why keep on reading. Ordered quite a few things, so breaking it up on the dishes, appetizer was calamari and stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushrooms were good, crab fillings and mushrooms were cooked nicely very nicely done. The calamari plate was a bit of a mix, the calamari itself isn’t bad, lightly fried and good. A bit bland, but that’s what the dipping sauce are for. However, they toss in a few random fried stuff as well on it, I think some peppers, some veggies and other stuff, it was a bit of a um whats this type of feeling and personally my friend and I didn’t exactly like that. I also got a side cup of corn chowder and this one was really tasty and delicious, probably my favorite of everything I had on this visit. Entrée wise, got the chef’s fall special dressed salmon with steamed vegetables and mashed potato. The sauce on which the salmon bathe on wasn’t spectacular, butter based and didn’t fully incorporate on the flavors of the salmon, I think if the salmon was as is, I would’ve liked it more. Salmon was cooked right and fork flaky and nice texture. Not much can be said with the sides, mashed potato is mashed potato nothing special and steamed vegetables are always good. My friend on the other hand got the crusted chicken salad, I tried it and personally nothing special on this again. For dessert, we got the white chocolate bread pudding, and I don’t want to sound like a broken record but, again, nothing too special. Personally, the ice cream that came with it probably was the best part, not exactly sure where the white chocolate came in, maybe the syrup? Or baked in? Overall, while I nitpick at it, the food wasn’t all that bad. Service was nice as well, didn’t need to ask for anything or demand something, we were well attended to. The main gripe would be for the food served, price is on the high side for what it is. It’s a nice experience, and before when I went here for a friend’s birthday, he got a specially printed menu with his name and I think that was neat, but definitely enjoyed and the food tasted better back then as well.

I don’t know what happened, but I downgrade this location to two-stars! Some of their other LA locations have closed, but this El Segundo restaurant must keep in line with nearby Paul Martin’s if they want to get my business. Service was so slow. I don’t know if a server called in sick, but our server had most of the floor, was sweaty and clearly did not really care how we were even though he asked. He would say, «Need anything else?» but he’d be halfway across the room to another table before we even nodded our heads, no we’re good. There was soda on the painting on the wall by my head and food on the floor… nice décor! Our appetizer took a while to come out, but the crab tower was the best part of the meal. Our entrees took 55 mins to come out, no joke. Sadly, my fish entrée included soggy skin although it said pan seared crispy barramundi. Yikes! I haven’t been here in a while, but clearly that is probably a good thing.

I came here with a few of my co-workers on a Thursday night. We missed happy hour(boo!) so ended up sitting in the dining area. The dining area was relatively dead for a Thursday night, which was good for us, so we can chat and gossip. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, refilling our water and taking our food order very quickly. We decided to share a few items: 1. Calamari — This was really good. The batter was crispy and the calamari tasted very fresh. I also liked the sauce that came with it.(Sometimes, I feel like the sauce is watered down). 2. Scallops — I though that the scallops were just OK. They had a weird mayonnaisey sauce on it, which I thought did not go well together. Also, it was pretty expensive. It was about $ 16 for 5 scallops. 3. Beef Tataki — I really liked this dish. I loved the ponzu sauce that went over it and I thought that the beef tasted fresh and delicious. 5. Crab Tower — This was based upon our waiter’s recommendation. I thought that the crab and other items ratio on the dish was disproportionate with too little crab. Plus, I thought the mango and avocado with the crab just tasted very weird together. 6. Coconut Shrimp — I am biased as I do not really like coconut. I thought it was OK, they only gave us 4 shrimps so it was a little pricey. 7. Flatbread — I did not get to try this as I was so full from the other dishes above, but my co-workers stated that it was very delicious. 8. Strawberry shortcake — I really liked the dessert here. The strawberries tasted fresh, the pastry was delicious and the whipped cream gave the dessert a nice touch. Overall, I thought that the food was good. It is a little on the pricey side, but it’s great to go once in a while to catch up with old friends.(The restaurant was pretty empty, so it didn’t feel like you were being overwhelmed with people). Plus, our waiter was very nice and we never felt like we were getting kicked out even though we sat there for a few hours. Parking is valet or self-parking right by the restaurant. They provide validation.

I normally love this restaurant and I’ve been a Landry’s member for years. This past visit went so horribly wrong that I won’t be back for a long time. We made it to our 8pm reservation right on time and had requested a bottle of wine to be waiting at the table when we got there to celebrate a special occasion. That was missing and it was 15 minutes before someone even came to the table. I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken, like I always do, and my date ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. My chicken had bones in it that cut my mouth and I had to shower our server who sent it back. My date’s ‘medium rare’ steak was so rare that he ate a few bites and left the rest(see picture). We were offered a free dessert and my chicken with bones in it was removed, but that was it. No wine when we got there, food that cut my mouth(but the chef sent his apologies), and an expensive filter ruined that we had to pay for. I was so embarrassed in front of my date that it sounds like I’ll have to stick to going somewhere else for a while.

Before you judge me on the two-star rating, let me tell you why. The food isn’t two stars. The food is decent. It’s not great, but it’s definitely not the worst thing I’ve ever eaten either. My problem is with the price. It’s crazy expensive for what it is. Alaskan Halibut($ 38.99) Pretty good halibut, but would I spend $ 40 on it? Probably not again. Average halibut with a ridiculous price. Maine Lobster Bisque($ 13.99) Way too salty for me. Let’s just say good thing it came with bread crackers. Calamari«Fritto Misto»($ 13.99) Probably the best tasting item we ordered. Still not worth the price As you may have noticed, my beef is with their pricing. Absolutely ridiculous. If you want to price it like this, the meal better be something I’ll never forget. ever.
