Very good and healthy place to get lunch. I got the chicken kabob with a salad and brown rice. Only reason they are not getting 5 stars from me is because they take a long time to make your food. I guess that’s how you knows it’s fresh

Pricey for a weekday lunch but tasty. The house salad is A LOT of lettuce so be prepared. Falafel is good and not dry.

Good food, and friendly staff. I really have nothing to complain about. I am a very picky eater… Their hummus is fantastic!

I’ve been a long time fan, but unfortunately I found out what they don’t make well: falafel. Since they took the vegetarian plate off the menu(a mistake in my opinion), I ordered the falafel plate. Extremely small portions of hummus and salad which was mostly all tomato. About 3 cups of rice(too much), and 5 of the worst falafel ever. They were much too dense & dry. It was like eating sand. They were not crispy and fresh, and they were nearly bland. Neither of the managers I’m used to seeing were there, maybe that was the problem. But with tax this was a $ 10 meal, not a good value in my opinion. Very disappointing.

Went for lunch today and got the Chicken Kabob plate and it was delicious! The chicken: moist, very flavorful, a couple charred bits on the edges which is delicious Rice: brown rice, perfectly cooked Salad: great fresh salad with cucumbers and tomatoes that cuts what can be a very hearty meal with a what I believed to be a tangy yogurt type dressing. Not sure what it was or what it was for but it was good to include in my take home box Hummus: favored nicely, just a little bit of oil in the center and just perfection. This is what I came here for and I wish I could order it by the pound Pita breads: perfect for dunking in hummus and the yogurt and making little pita sandwiches out of the stuff on the plate. I’ve not tried very many restaurants that serve this type of cuisine but I definitely feel I ate what is top of the line Mediterranean food. Other Mediterranean restaurants have large shoes to fill.

I went to the Hummus Factory for lunch in downtown El Segundo on a Saturday afternoon. It was my first time in the area and there were a lot of little shops and restaurants. The Hummus Factory is located in the same parking lot as a Rite Aid so there was plenty of parking. I ordered a chicken kabob plate that came with rice, hummus and salad. Everything was just okay. The chicken was one minute from being overcooked, and the rice and hummus were under-seasoned. I have had better mediterranean food elsewhere so unfortunately I will not be returning. Despite the food not being great the customer service was good so they get 3 stars from me.

The food was great ordered a gyro plate, but they were slow, and the pita bread was cold n just ok. Recommend calling your order in ahead of time

Been here twice and ordered the same thing both times: Lulah Kabob Plate. For $ 12, I was able to get a large plate of Lulah Kebob and though my tummy was stretched to the max, I couldn’t stop eating because the food taste so good in my mouth. The second time I came in and ordered the same thing, I made sure I got a to-go box before I even sat down and packed away half of the meal. Let me tell you, i was still full. And i had enough for dinner too. This restaurant is part of a center that has its own parking lot. Though I’ve never had a problem finding a spot, the spots here are small and it’s always a challenge to maneuver a full sized truck.

Delicious food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. I usually go with the kabob wrap and a side salad, Eating out without feeling guilty.

Had some hankering for mediterranean so stopped here after REI. I ordered the gyro wrap which comes with a side salad to go. In short: — Pita was a little stale and hard, did not taste fresh. — The gyro meat was decent although on the salty side. They didn’t skimp on it which was nice. — Standard lettuce and tomatoes — Tzatziki sauce — not enough of it, with there was a little more of the creamy tanginess to balance out the gyro. — Side salad was meh… more standard lettuce and tomato, and some cucumber. I was not impressed. It was not a lot of food for the price either. So the value wasn’t there. If it was $ 6 – 7 instead of nearly $ 10 I would have let things slide. I don’t think you pay for what you get here.

SUMMARY: Not bad, but overpriced. Quality – Good, but not amazing. Chicken kabob was not as dry as it looked, which was a pleasant surprise. Hummus, rice and salad were all decent but not memorable. Pita bread was served at room temperature; I wish it was warmed up slightly. Quantity – More than enough to satisfy a normal person. I left behind some pita and rice and was stuffed. Price – Really expensive; I just ordered the chicken plate with no drink and it was $ 14.44. Add a drink and you’d be over $ 16. At that price point, they’re competing with Jackson’s, Paul Martin’s, North Italia and True Food Kitchen, all of which are superior. Et Cetera – The restaurant interior is kind of loud from the kitchen machinery but the shared outdoor patio is nice on a sunny day. Service is also relatively slow; I was one of two customers in the restaurant and it took 20 minutes for food to come out.

This place has amazing food and the best service locally. When in need for something quick but healthy during lunchtime The Hummus Factory is my go to place. Usually I get the chicken plate and go to town on the garlic spread. The service is top notch and the people behind the counter really remember you the next time you come in and like a friendly face. Be sure to come inside and try the food, it won’t disappoint.

Get the gyro plate. Delicious, juicy gyro meat! Salad and hummus that comes with the plate is good also. Rice could use some seasoning. Pros: + Tasty Gyro Meat + Fries were crispy + Hummus is good Cons: — Fries needed more seasoning — Rice was bland — Pita bread was thick — Not a lot of variety Tip: Go for the Gyro Plate instead of the Wrap. Pita bread is too thick Details: Had the Gyro Wrap which had tasty meat, but the Pita Bread was too thick. I think next time I’ll just get the Gyro Plate because the meat was very tasty and juicy. The fries also reminded me of the ones from McDonald’s(size, taste and texture-wise). They were a bit bland but adding some salt made ‘em better. I just enjoy places were everything comes to you well seasoned already but it’s not a big deal. They also have Ketchup, Tapatio and Sriracha sauce next to the soda and ice tea dispensers.

I brought my wife here for dinner after raving about this place for weeks. We were disappointed. The beef kabob chunks were overcooked, dry, dense and almost cold. My wife got the kabob wrap which is supposed to have four pieces of beef. They only gave her three, undersized pieces. They were nice enough to make us a brand new wrap after we complained. But we had already pretty much filled up. I did notice this place is usually bustling at lunch time but almost empty dinnertime — that could explain why the meat was overcooked and almost cold rather than fresh and hot. They get three stars for making my wife a brand new wrap. Aside from that, the inconsistency may keep me away for a while which is a shame because I really like this location.

Located in a small shopping plaza, you’ll never fail to find a parking spot. The place is relatively small and seats approximately 30 indoors and maybe 8 on their patio. The menu has something for everybody from vegan to carnivore. I’ve tried all meats and all are delicious. The plates are huge so they’re not cheap, but definitely filled with value. I’ve been to Mediterranean places that offer chicken kabobs and many places serve up dry chicken as it is usually breast meat. This is one of the better places to order chicken as it is juicy, as is the beef. My favorite is the lula plate for an extra dollar. Salads are fresh and dressings are tangy. Definitely recommend. Try the spicy hummus!

So many great reviews here I couldn’t refuse seeing as the one in Santa Monica is sooo good. I got a falafel wrap and my wife got the chicken kabob plate. The fries tasted bad from the old oil. The falafel wrap was so dry and tasteless. My wife’s chicken was drier than the California drought. Just disappointed as the Santa Monica branch is so excellent! Maybe I should have paid attention to no people in the place that it’s not a good place. Sorry

I live for a good chicken kabob plate. But it’s gotta be just right. The chicken can’t be too dry, and it also must have a subtle hint of marinade that adds just enough flavor(but not too much, that’s what the hummus and garlic paste is for). Why am I blabbering on about what constitutes a perfect kabob? Well because I found near perfection at the Hummus Factory. Yes, really. As stated above, this place really has nailed the chicken kabob, it’s right on par with Zankou Chicken, my holy grail of LA Med food. But aside from the chicken, they’ve really nailed a few other little subtleties that go a long way with me… –For starters, generous serving sizes. Chicken kabobs are usually among the most expensive menu items. I expect to be stuffed! –Second, GREAT hummus(hence the restaurant name) and exceptional garlic paste. Both served in good quantity. –Third, a few options to make an already healthy meal even healthier. They offer wheat pita(a surprising rarity in this city), and ask you if you prefer brown rice instead of white. Of course with a name like this they’re going to offer plenty of different kinds of hummus. And while I have yet to try them all, I certainly love what I’ve had so far. Wonderfully creamy and delicious stuff. Lastly, the service. The place is small and simple. The staff feels like they really enjoyed serving us and got us our food quickly and with a smile. I can’t imagine this place getting too terribly busy, even during peak hours, since it’s tucked into the relaxing, off the beaten path setting of downtown El Segundo. So take it from someone that has WAYYYYY too much Mediterranean food. This is where you want to be getting your fix.

The food is fantastic!!! They give you plenty, too. I’ve passed by here numerous times but never came in because, well, they’re situated next door to a laundromat and I figured that the food was probably on par with a place situated next door to a laundromat. Anyway, today, not wanting to spend a small fortune on an entrée at nearby El Segundo Fish, I walked over and ordered the chicken kabob plate. It cost me just over $ 12 and came with hummus, bread, salad plenty of chicken breasts(very thick pieces) and perfectly cooked basmati rice. I’m impressed. The food is hot, fresh, and flavorful. Would definitely return, only i’ll call ahead next time because the wait was just over 20 minutes for my to-go order.

I worked across the street from this restaurant since it opened, and only recently started eating here. The owners are super friendly and fast at the register, which is impressive to me. This is a very clean restaurant with fast service. I can order and have lunch in half an hour and still have free time to walk back to work! The thing is timing. Be here before around 12:00 or after 1:00. The lunch crowd from the refinery and local aerospace peaks at 12:00, with no seating; take-out is okay though. As for the food, it is simply healthy Greek-style food made from fresh ingredients. The salads are huge, and the meat is either filet mignon, chicken, or sausage. If you eat here, you’ll also want to be sure and get the hummus, because this is the best I’ve had, ever! It’s nice and creamy, and not a brick or runny. I think they have the ingredients and quantity down to a science.

I’ve been meaning to try The Hummus Factory for over a year but always forget. I finally went on Saturday for a quick lunch. Husband and I shared the chicken plate. The woman at the counter was really nice and split the plate for us. We each got 4 pieces of chicken, rice, salad, hummus, garlic sauce. The chicken was well cooked and I did notice the same sweetness another Unilocaler mentioned but it didn’t bother me. The offer regular and wheat pita which was a tastey surprise. The Hummus Factory is a great place to grab quick and healthy lunch or dinner. They also cater and are on grubhub.
