On Wednesday I ordered my drink, they messed the order up. so I went back in the drive. They REFUSED to take my piping hot coffee back and told me I would have to find a garbage can somewhere. I asked for the manager. The manager was not professional he laughed at me(i dont think he realized how he was coming off, maybe a nervous laugh??) and said per health policy he can’t take the cup. My resolution was to drive and find a garbage OR go find parking and walk it in to them and they would take it at the cash register. The week before one of the younger employees spilled coffee all over the side of my car and my hand because the lid was not on. Instead of apologizing and offering a napkin. she was more concerned that she was sticky and WALKEDAWAY. This location is poorly ran… and has officially lost my business.

Service at this Starbucks was terrible. Staff were extremely rude to me from the moment I attempted to place my order with a rude cashier who treated me poorly despite being friendly with every white customer before me to the moment an equally rude barista shoved my drink at me with a snarl. I can only assume their behavior towards me was racially motivated. This is 21st century America and such discriminatory behavior should not be tolerated.

I like their Chai Tea Lattes, though I prefer it iced now that I’ve tried it warm that the weather is getting colder. They are RIDICULOUSLY busy in the mornings(a huge line of cars for the drive thru), though I managed to get it through it fast enough and the staff seems to be friendly enough. My major problem with this location is that there’s just simply not enough parking. It doesn’t matter what time of day I come(before work, during various times that could be considered«lunch,» after work), there is never any parking, or maybe a space or two. Since Starbucks mainly serves a lot of the business customers, I understand everyone else is there when I am, and maybe it’s fine at 8pm, but I think it is fundamentally ridiculous to have so little parking for a Panera/Starbucks. I understand there isn’t really anything to do about it at this point, but it makes me hate going to either location. I don’t want to have to fight for a parking spot to go in and pick up something for breakfast.

This review is pointed only at the 20-something dark haired, skinny, short gentleman working the window during my visit at about 11AM today. I have been going to this location since the day it was opened, and never have I dealt with such a poor attitude as you exhibited today. I asked for«pup cups» for my two dogs that are 85 and 160 lbs, common sense would state that giving them cups small enough for them to swallow would not be a good idea, but since that didn’t occur to you I politely asked for larger cups. Your snotty attitude over my simple request was completely out of line, and the tablespoon of whipped cream you put in there lost you a $ 2 tip on a $ 6 drink. I can only hope that the store manager either demands an attitude adjustment from you or finds someone more grateful for your job.

I literally just went to this starbucks before work and i understand it gets busy in the morning but i asked for French vanilla in my iced latte and i didnt notice that they subbed in hazelnut instead. It even says on the cup sub hazelnut. They should have told me instead of just changing one for the other bc i can’t change it now. Not going to this location again. Dunkin donuts is better.

Lol again… happy and nice people need to be working for Starbucks. Hate this storefront! Location is great, people who work there… not so much.

This has always been a solid location for me, in terms of getting my order right and being personable. That’s about all I ask for.

Despite the morning rush, I received my tea hot and quickly. The baristas were friendly and didn’t confuse my «hot tea» with a «tea latte» as many Starbucks seem to have trouble with. The location is a little weird getting into if you’re heading north on Randall. Otherwise, good Starbucks.

Love their Chai tea. Staff is warm and friendly. Drive thru is typically busy early morning but they do a good job getting everyone through. Once, it took extra long and they gave my order for free. Only issue, as with all Starbucks, is price. Way over-priced. I would go more than once per week if drinks were $ 1 less.

I LOVE Starbucks. But this particular one will make me go without my daily latte. I have been here a few times. On one particular occasion a male barista was openly making fun of a drive-thru customer, which was unprofessional and rude. Another time two of the gals were so busy chatting about their weekend dates that they didn’t notice me for minutes(I was the only customer in there). It is always messy in there and in need of a major restocking. If you find yourself near this place in need of a coffee, hit the Panera that is literally next door or go to the one in West Dundee.

The baristas are friendly enough, and my tea was hot(but not too hot)…but I just can’t get past how dirty this location is. Crumbs, wrappers, etc., all over the place. I think they’re short-staffed, because the guys behind the counter are hustling with the drink-making. Maybe time to hire some more employees?

Generally speaking, I enjoy Starbucks. This one location however, has my knickers in a knot — so instead of the 4 star or 5 star I would accord a typical Starbucks store, this one gets a meager three — yes — they are simply, just A-OK — not worth going out of your way for, and perhaps, when resources are scarce, even to be avoided in favour of higher rated locations. On the surface my complaint seems so trivial, one might think it not worth complaining about. But after a year or so of the same, I’ve had enough. Were it not for the Panera bread next door, with Saturday morning egg souffles, I might take the ultimate consumer stand and never darken the door of this Starbucks location ever again. What is their great sin? They hide the little shakers of toppings(Chocolate, nutmeg, vanilla and cinamon) behind the counter. Every other location boldly places them on the stand with the stir sticks, napkins and honey. This location however, is so anal, they don’t want their customers making a mess, so they keep them behind the counter. Isn’t it wonderful that they are organized enough to make my life harder, so that theirs might be easier? Maybe I’m on a high-horse here(and using every cliché in the book, to boot), but I think — in an era were cost-cutting is king — that we have lost sight of how to provide great customer service. It’s the little things like making someone’s life easier, not harder, that differentiate great companies from not-so-great companies, and great locations from no-so-great locations. I propose this is a not-so-great location. I further propose that people stop supporting this location, unless you are so caffeine deprived as to make the long trip over to West Dundee, Algonquin, or Woodstock a hazard. Would I return? Unwillingly, when seduced by the lure of easy highway access, combined with egg souffles from next door. Would I recommend? No — there are other locations to go to(and other competitors to go to) nearby, so why support bad customer service. Just my humble opinion. Thanks for listening. Post review note: Hubby has started asking for the chocolate shaker. He puts it on his coffee, sprinkles some on the service counter, then marches it over to «put it away» where he thinks it should be. Ha-ha-ha. That’s so obnoxious. Wonder if they’ll get the hint. :-) Post-post review note(March 2011) — they’ve put the shakers out on the stand where they belong. Is this the power of Unilocal,or simply a change(for the better) in management? We’ll probably never know.)
