The Gypsy Haven

I decided to go check out this shop because I just started learning about crystals. There is a nice selection of jewelry and crystals. They have three different rooms filled with all kinds of awesome stuff. It was fun just looking around at all the stuff they had to offer. I was specifically looking for a jade stone but they didn’t carry anything jade. The owner recommended me to check out Evolve. They also have their own podcast which is really interesting. Definitely worth stopping in. I’ll be back!

This is one cool ass store in who would have thunked it… Elgin! I can spend an hour plus in here looking at all the cool and unique items they offer. I have gotten some of the best gifts ever here for my friends and they always ask where I found the gem of a gift!
The owners are lovely, warm and passionate about their wares.
BTW, Ash… screw you for giving this lovely shop 1 star because the owners had a family emergency. Think about it. You are the poster child for biatch.

The man at the desk was extremely helpful and calm; aided my Aunt in understanding how to help her house be rid of bad stuff. She has very little knowledge but a lot of belief, so this information helped soothe her and was very kind of him. He also wasn’t pressuring– did his own thing until we asked for help.
There is a large variety of things for such a small store, and I absolutely loved how it was set up, arranged, etc.
I will probably come back next time I’m in town, and my aunt will be in touch about her house. The space is very grounded and calm. Although I don’t identify as neopagan or Wiccan, I felt very welcome and assured– they in the store draw from many cultures including Egyptian, psychic, Celtic, European, African, Hindu, etc. stock includes but is not limited to: clothing, jewelry and talismans from many cultures, tarot and oracle cards, divinity tools, sage and other burning sticks, a large variety of incense, gemstones and crystals, carved wooden tools, what looked like kettles (I’m not extremely versed in this), «fairy» powder etc, empty Leather journals– grimoires, books on everything from fairies to astral projection to natural magic, cute signs and decorations about nature-​loving culture, and many more.
the store front is nice, but the street is kind of sketchy and smells like fish. I loved the small town vibe that I got, though. The is free public parking across the street.

Elizabeth is a rare gem. She and her husband Shay own the shop and are both incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. On my first visit, we arrived without knowing the hours and were closed. They happened to be in the store and graciously allowed us in treating us as if we were no bother. They both dropped everything they were doing to assist my niece and myself. Wonderful shop with so much! Best burning incense ever! They home make. Five stars!

Let me start off by saying, I’ve never actual written one of these. Never felt the need to review a business because I guess the reviews a business has dictates how I should feel about said business. After doing a little research on Google looking for local Wicca shops in the area, this gem popped into my life. I was immediately intrigued by the fact that I’ve been living in Elgin all my life, and this beautiful amazing store was right down the street from my house for a year now and I had never even realized. I suppose to it’s due to the fact I’ve just recently come into myself and my own spirituality. Scratch that, it IS due to the fact I have tapped into my inner self. But it immediately intrigued me right off the bat.
I had made plans to go to this location as soon as I got my next big check, ((little splurge purchase I was trying to manifest I suppose)) but one Sunday morning I woke up and instantly felt the desire to go check it out a week before and see what they had in stock. I had been practicing Tarot (or I guess learning about it) and really needed my own physical deck (I was using a app that I could do readings directly from my phone I had downloaded off the Google Play store, which I felt like was ironic to be using). So I decided to stop in and see for myself.
From the minute I walked into the shop to the beautiful, kind gesture Elizabeth & her husband Shay ended with as I was paying for my items, I could feel the amazing energy within the store. As I walked around and looked at the amazing selection of tools they had in their shop it astounded me how beautiful everything was. They had everything from Tarot decks to herbs, to beautiful clothing, posters, crystals, books, it’s like the store had everything that I could possibly imagine.
I instantly was drawn to a Tarot deck and decided to put it aside to purchase, Elizabeth had also assured me if I was interested in something that they hadn’t had in stock that all I needed to do was tell them and they could have it by the following week. TALK ABOUT TRUE, GENUINE, BEAUTIFUL B U S I N E S S. Now that I think about it, the minute I walked into the store I felt the genuineness of these two souls that I had never come into contact with before. You can tell within a half of a millisecond whether or not you will be connect with a person. And I instantly felt that connection towards Elizabeth.
I also picked up some crystal stones for my two friends and I. As I was getting ready to pay for my items, Elizabeth had asked me if I had sage to cleanse the stones. When I replied no, she kindly showed me how the process works and gave me a little tip on charging them as well. This simple, yet powerful gesture was really what stuck with me. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered two strangers that made me feel more at home. I’m hoping to visit this home away from home very often and even joked with Elizabeth that I’d be a regular ((guess it’s not really a joke because it’s true)). I will continue to support this lovely, amazing business as long as they are there, and much there after. It’s the little things in this post that make the whole experience for me 5 stars. In a time where business is run by the amount of money that’s being circulated throughout the walls, I’m relieved to see a thriving business that truly cares for their customers.
Shay and Elizabeth, if you’re reading this I wish the best for your lives and The Gypsy Haven, you’re amazing people and I hope you continue to forever lead these great lives you’ve made for yourself. Can’t wait to stop in and say hi, until next time. –Sailor

Never new this little treasure was right here in Elgin!
Lovely shop with lots to look at and choose from especially considering the small but very quaint space. They also have very reasonable prices which was surprising because they carry very nice items.
Elizabeth was lovely, warm and helpful. Looking forward to going back soon.

The owners are warm, welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful. The store is great, I find something new each time I visit and if I’m looking for something they don’t carry they’ll bring it in for me! They are so accommodating which is refreshing in this impersonal age of doing business. I’d like to see a chair or two by the books (and more books!) so I could sit and peruse them better but I realize their space might be better utilized by showing their wares.
Love the overall vibe of this space and the energy and the selection.

The people who work here are extremely friendly and helpful, and they have a good stock at great prices!!! I would definitely recommend this place!

Nice little store, the owners are amazing and the prices are very reasonable for the high quality of products they offer. They offer a large range of herbs, resins, and various other things you might need for your ritual. I’ll definitely be a returning customer.
