Taberna del Rei is a nice small restaurant with an old timey feel. The wait staff are very polite and helpful. 2 waiters helped our large group of 15. The portions are HUGE!!! For example, I ordered the half chicken and it came with rice. When it arrived, it was almost a full half chicken, a large ½ plate of orange rice and the other half was fries. I couldn’t finish the rice and fries. I don’t think anyone could. The chicken was well cooked and the skin on the chicken was nicely seasoned and crispy.

Good rib and rice combo with fries, sometimes you get a free slice of bread, I always call for pickup so I don’t have to wait

I come here on the regular cause of its proximity to my job. I come for lunch and to watch champions league soccer matches. They have a fixed menu and the daily specials menu. I rarely order anything from the fixed menu and always try something different on the special menu. On Saturdays always order the caldo verde soup. You won’t be dissatisfied. It’s only available sat. It’s a kale soup. If you want a good sandwich get the chivito, although its native to Uruguay it’s awesome. Steak, ham, fried egg, peppers onions cheese, and comes with fries. It’s not the menu just ask for it. Their steaks and chickens are typically consistent and good you can always ask for different sides unless I get special treatment since I’m there all the time. If the grilled swordfish is ever available on the specials menu get it! Around lunch time it’s loud with a bunch of blue collar Portuguese dudes yelling about soccer and work. It’s still a good time

This place is pretty legit! And im the 1st to review this place, making it the 2nd cherry i got the pleasure of popping. whoot whoot! LoL. —- Food: 4. Typical Portuguese menu. The taste is good and consistent. This is my fams favorite place so im very much used to it and the food. almost feels like im going to an aunts house to eat. —- Drinks: 4. Usually good. they have a full bar. and they have a bar area and a split level dining room. i’ve never got anything crazy here. the sangria is good and if you drink enough you’ll feel a buzz. —- Price: 4. i’d say it is average for a place like this and if compared to other local restaurants serving the same style food. it might even be a bit cheaper priced. —- Service: 4. I’d say most of the times when it isn’t packed the service is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. And if you dont speak Portuguese or Spanish i hope you dont mind listening to broken English. LoL. Just saying. i dont mind, some might get aggravated. —- Atmosphere: 3. I’ll be honest — the décor suxx in this place. Looks like someones grandma decorated it. But every time i come here everyone seems happy and like they are enjoying their food so there’s a good vibe in here.
