Good food. We’ve gotten to go, pick up twice. We used pick for the drive thru once, which took forever. I wouldn’t recommend using the drive thru. The service is much quicker if you go inside. The food is good, but prices aren’t the best. We ordered two larges one with a topping, the other plain and our bill was like $ 23.00! The pizza is thin crust, New York style. They have a pretty good sauce. The hoagies are better. I had the Italian & cheeseburger. The rolls are very fresh and decent amount of meat. Prices a bit high, hence the 4 stars. We will go back, just not as often.

It’s a pizza shop. The food is good, the price is right; it’s the perfect stop to satisfy your hunger.

I noticed some not-so-good reviews and was shocked. Our family and friends eat here a lot and they make some of the best authentic Italian food. We get actual meals a lot and their subs are made with homemade bread and stuffed. I will admit, because their food is so good, they tend to get behind on service. If you go when crowded you will probably be there for awhile. With that said I’ve never been deterred from going. It’s a place we truly get hungry for.

Good food, poor service. This was my 2nd time here. A few months ago I came here for lunch. One of the Male employees seemed to be harassing the counter girl. I assume they are all related or close but she was at wits end w him. I wanted a salad Friday, which I got during my prev trip. It was a 25 min wait. For a salad. Granted a large party of 10 – 12 just ordered but there were 2 servers and at least 4 cooks. 2 others that ordered cheesesteaks before me got served. And I was waiting for an antipasto salad. Never again. There are about 9 pizza joints in Etown. Don’t waste your time at Sal’s.

We have ordered from Sals many times. The food is good. However they have to work on customer service. Picking up at the drive thru is pretty bad. The emplyees will look at you and not acknowledge that you exist and walk away. Also when using a coupon they arw reluctant to let you use it. And dont always give you the coupon value off.

I love Sal’s pizza and garlic rolls. We order from here a LOT and while they don’t deliver, they have a drive-through menu so that makes things convenient. However, the reason I can’t give them 5 stars is how difficult it is to order take-out. There is no menu online and no website. In fact, one random menu we found online said that Sal’s had gnocchi. We called to order gnocchi and the girl on the phone was really rude. She told us that we had the wrong phone number and had never heard of gnocchi in her life. What kind of Italian restaurant has never heard of gnocchi. I completely understand not having something on your menu, but the polite response is «Sorry, we don’t carry that, what else can I get for you?» Not to insult me and try to convince me that gnocchi is something I made up… I would have given this place 2 stars after that experience, but they are one of the only places in E-town that you can grab a 6 pack of beer(and they have a pretty good selection) so they get 3 stars. And despite the silly gnocchi issue, we’ll be ordering again. I’m telling you, the garlic knots are great, their customer service is not.

I live so close to this location and they were recommended by a friend but I have to say this was one of the worst experiences I have had in a long time My mom came to visit the kids and we decided to grab a bite, I should have known we were in for a ride when it took ten minutes to seat us in an empty restaurant. From there the older server gave us a stink eye for about fifteen minutes before she came over for our order The kicker was when my daughter ordered two Hawaiian pizza slices, when they came out they were plan. When we told her about it, she took then back, threw a slice of ham on it and gave it back. I gave a 6 cent tip and swore I would never go there again. I suggest drive the extra 300 feet and go to Babbos.

There are more banks and pizza joints in E-town then we have people. They have another place, P&J’s, in the center of E-town. This place is actually just outside of E-town. Their pizza needs a lot to be desired, but their subs are out of this world. They make their own bread, so they are always very fresh and yummy. Hot or cold, their subs are stuffed with deliciousness. This is also a very nice place to eat in; new building, excellent atmosphere, and clean.

Decent pizza shop. I go here for their delicious subs on homeade rolls… Excellent. Their large subs are enough for two meals. The only let down was the beer selection. I would like to see a better choice of craft brews. But that being said, this is still a great choice for pizza, subs, or wings!

New York style pizza and Italian entrees served with the indifferent air of what one imagines one might find in a military cafeteria. While the surroundings are nice enough, it’s not a well kept restaurant. A large bus cart sits in the hallway to the bathrooms piled high with dirty plates, cups and flatware. Dirty tables are as common as clean ones. The food is average and priced a little above average.

I stopped in with three others over the busy 4th of July weekend. We never would have found this little gem, except we had to stay out of the way b/c of all the hotels in Harrisburg being completely booked. I didn’t feel very excited about a pizza joint, quite honestly, but it seemed a better idea than the Burger King across the street. Man was i pleasantly surprised. The Greek Salad is SOGOOD – plump seedless kalamata olives, a pretty tasty dressing, and decent feta chunks adorn the lettuce mixture. They warned us that they were out of romaine, so they used other greens, but we were all happy. It was crisp and fresh. And the garlic bread it comes with was steaming hot, out of the oven, and so fluffy and buttery… yum. Then, the tomato and cheese medium pizza: a good size, and it is topped like a real italian pizza– completely covered in sauce with pockets of real cheese, but with more crust than you’d typically have. Lastly, one of us ordered the Hawaiian cheeseburger, and cheeseburger, it is not. It is a monster-sized sandwhich, on a hoagie bun, with 2 or 3 burger patties cut in half and lining the bread, with shredded lettuce, pineapple chunks, and more. I did not try his burger but he seemed to like it a lot, and even saved half for lunch(thats how big it is). The curly fries he got with it were seasoned and yummy– one friend said they taste just like Arby’s fries. I was really happy. I will probably never be out that way again which is too bad– Ive been craving Sal’s for days.

I’m vegan and enjoyed the cheese-less pizza they made for me. I can’t be a good judge of everything since I don’t eat dairy or meat, but for my needs, it worked.

I don’t understand all the hate for Sal’s — it’s actually very good. The Pizza is the same as their other stor P and J in etown. It’s a much nicer ‘dine-in’ restaurant than P and J.

I didn’t think you could mess up pizza, but I was wrong. The waitstaff is friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean and modern. However, the pizza was a failure. We ordered the white spinach pie(the medium size fed the two of us with two slices for leftovers). Even after sprinkling parm cheese, garlic powder, and powdered chili flakes we could not get any real flavor out of the pizza. Bland. It was really sad. I might come back… but I will definitely steer clear of the pizza.

Ok, so I went back to try the subs. Here I was pleased. I would give the subs a 3 ½ star rating, but since we can’t do ½s, and their pizza was hot garbage, we’re stuck with 3 stars. My housemate and I split a cheese hoagie and an eggplant parm hot sub. The cheese sub was really standard — no spices, Kinda eh. I can get this anywhere. The homemade bread was a nice touch, but it really had no special flavor either. The eggplant parm was good first bite — and then it faded it bit. The slices were a bit thick. There was nothing special about this either. Good, but not great. It had a drive through — that was a bonus for calling in. I still think for having ANOTHER pizza shop — they can do better.
