Berthold removed a 10 inch maple tree, dug out the root ball, and planted a 5 inch honey locust tree in the same spot without damaging the lawn and plantings around it. They took care to orient the crown of the tree as I asked, and left my yard clean. The crew was pleasant and respectful. This is the 3rd tree they have planted in my yard in the last 15 years and I have been satisfied with their service each time.

Wow!!! These girls are fabulous to work with funny, friendly and a great place to shop!
I always love going their for plants for my garden or flowers for a special occasion or buying gifts!
I have been going to Berthold’s forever and I truly never walk out empty handed.
I would recommend them as a all year round for all your unique gifts and flowers.
Flowers are very high quality and last a long time.

Flowers brighten anyone’s day. How much more when there’s an occasion for it. Berthold’s has been my top florist for years now. One of the reason’s I love them is their huge selection. This is a well established flower shop unlike several others. They have a great flower barn and a huge location that includes a garden center. I have purchased from them for several occasions including Birthdays, Anniversary, funeral (of a friend’s child) and Valentine’s Day. Although I’m from Schaumburg area I consider them as my go-​to location for flowers. I drive by their flower shop in Elk Grove Village several times a week and I stop in there at least once a month. I have had several questions about choosing the right flowers based on occasion and they have been extremely helpful without coming off as pushy!

Another place that sparked my curiosity over the years that I finally just visited. Berthold’s is a florist for many occasions. They also have a variety of flowers, plants, bushes, gardening supplies, and trees for purchase. Inside they have a gift shop with all different goodies like holiday décor, jewelry, cards, wine accessories, you name it. I do think the gits are a bit pricey, but the plant I got was a great price.
I needed help finding a plant that won’t croak without sun, and one of the women working there was a great help! She showed me a few different plants to choose from (I ended up getting a 4″ Peace Lily for about $ 8). She made sure to pick out a few good plants from the back for me to choose from to make sure I left with one I was pleased with. She also made sure to tell me how to keep it alive (reminded me of my mom — a good thing). I thought it was a great experience.

Karen Z. was my florist at Berthold’s for my wedding. I had been to Blooming Flowers but they asked me to change the date of my wedding or just give them my budgeted money and they would make something nice-​yea right!
Needless to say it brought me to Berthold’s and I didn’t turn back. She has a bridal room where she talks with you. She didn’t push unnecessary flowers/​costs on me and tried hard to stay within my budget. She and I emailed each other which was helpful too. My flowers were exactly what I expected and they are still alive 2 weeks later!
Karen is the woman to partner with for your special day hands down!

Berthold’s in EGV exceeded all my wedding flower expectations! Chris, the wedding coordinator is just about as sweet as they come, and she worked with my budget & flower preferences to create the most gorgeous arrangements and personal flowers. Looking back at my pictures, I am still in awe of how wonderfully they turned out! Do yourself a favor, make an appointment with Chris if you are looking for a budget-​friendly florist for your event. The staff was very flexible with payment options and delivery, and delivered exactly what they promised. Come prepared with inspirational photos, your wedding colors, and your budget. The process will be a breeze!

These folks are WONDERFUL! Literally had 1800flowers cancel my pre-​ordered delivery for Valentine’s day at noon the day of! Not only did they help me to find the right bouquet at the best price (even suggesting longer stemmed roses which were a HIT) but they also delivered yes I said DELIVERED to my sweetheart before her work day ended! Beautiful bouquet of vased roses, fantastic service 20 stars across the board!

Wedding flowers — so beautiful, the white roses and calla lilies were
exquisite. Your floral designer, Chris, was so good to work with — thorough, thoughtful, friendly. She helped us every step of the way. My table centerpieces turned out even better than I could ever imagine. Thank you for making the most special day in my life so memorable. I’ll recommend you to all our friends.

Sure, impressing me once is easy. Keeping me impressed takes a bit of work.
Berthold’s and I enjoyed 3 previous gardening seasons with no issues or complaints. This year, however, brought a drastic change. For the worse, I’m afraid.
Issue #1) Selection has dramatically dwindled. No longer can I find the uncommon. No longer can I find the cheap, either.
Issue #2) Condition of plants has equaled the neglect of big box stores. Twice I came and twice was appalled at the dry, withered, and yellowed plants. What a shame.
Issue #3 Service has completely gone out the window. No help, no smiles, no warm and fuzzies.
Such a shame. Rare is the instance I would rather visit Home Depot or Wallyworld. But this is what I’ve been reduced to. Cross this one off my list, unfortunately.

The worst,!!! Do not go here. The new owner is a scam artist. She rips you off and the quality of the bushes and flowers are very poor. The new owner has no customer service. You will be just as unhappy as I was

I bought my garden plants here last year and everything bloomed very well way into the fall. Definitely plan to return there this weekend. The assortment of hanging baskets and plants meant for the shade was awesome. Good prices and friendly staff.
