BloodSource Elk Grove

If you’re reading this then you are more than likely one of those people who are open to donating blood. In the area there are not a whole lot of places for that to happen that are not associated with BloodSource. I’ve been to a few locations as well as a mobile drive now and then. This particular location is pretty nice. I myself donate more than just blood so I have to schedule my appointments and plan to give 2 – 3 hours of my day away here. That being said I cannot speak of what it is like here for a walk in. I am always in and getting hooked up to the machine needed for my donation on time. The staff is super friendly and quickly addresses any issues or concerns I may have. Not once have I had them miss when sticking me or blow out a vein.

I had an 7:30am appointment today for donating platelets when I got in, one of the RN or whoever she was asked to talk to me, after she got my information down, she told me I was not eligible because I donated about a month ago, I was confused and said okay, so I left. Right before I got home the front desk lady called me and said there was a confusion, the lady that asked for my information thought I was giving whole blood. So unprofessional. So next time remind them what you are there for, now I have to make another trip there.

I’ve been coming to this location for a while now and every time I came in the staff are always welcoming and fun to chat with. I hate needles but they make my experience easy so I’ll keep coming back to donate. Whats great is that now you can go online and schedule an appointment or cancel an appointment with a breeze and keep track that way. So easy I love it.

Confessions of an addict…
I’m addicted to RNs April, Andrea, Cecilia, Jen, & Lauren poking me in the arm. The tracks on my arm marks my addiction to being in the great care of ALL the RNs here. They always treat you like a friend/​family & not just remember you as a ‘donor’. I rub off their positive energy even on early Saturday mornings!

I was donating blood with my previous job when Stanford Blood comes. Since leaving that job, I needed to find another clinic. So I ended up at Bloodsource. I love the staff at this location. They truly make you feel like you are part of the family. They are also very appreciative that you are donating blood.
If you are looking for a clinic to donate blood, I highly recommend this one. Love the staff and love the clinic!

The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable and they are always so appreciative of donors coming into to donate blood. I learned today that woman cannot donate plasma, something to do with child bearing and anti-​bodies. I wanted to be a platelet donor but my veins are too small for platelet donation per the staff at bloodsource. Bummer. But hey at least, I can continue to donate whole blood.

I used to donate red blood cells at the Elk Grove location for years before I started donating platelets which the Midtown location is the closest center near me.
The staff was always ‘fun’ and very playful. One of my favorite was Lisa.
