Great place to get a haircut! Jennifer was really friendly and so was her receptionist. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and everyone complimented my haircut afterwards! Would recommend to everyone!

It’s very hard to find a place that does decent fades these days. Look no more! Thanks to fellow Unilocalers, I decided to try this place out.
Having just returned from a trip to asia, I couldn’t wait to get my fade back. Jennifer gave me the bald fade and I couldn’t be happier. Best part is she took 20 min to do it. Holy cow that’s fast. Of all the places I’ve been to, I must say this was the quickest and cheapest.
If you are in the area and need a fade, call Jennifer. You won’t be disappointed.

I have problem hair, so I should know better than to take it somewhere that I don’t have full confidence in the stylist. I will take responsibility for that. However, after getting my hair cut here with Maggie, I am one very unhappy camper.
My instructions were to cut 2 inches into a bob with a bit of layering in the back to give it a little volume. What I ended up with was a shag haircut that’s short on top and long on the bottom. Yup, she gave me a mullet. To make matters worse, she layered it so much that it’s all fly-​away no matter how much hair product I put into it.
I have had not so perfect hairstyles before, which I have been able to rescue when I got home. However, there was no rescuing this disaster.
When I left, I had resigned myself to a bad decision and was going to call it a day. But when I went to pay she said my haircut was $ 50. I just about had a heart attack! When I called and inquired about the price of a haircut, I was quoted $ 15 over the phone. When I walked in, I looked at their price list and it said $ 15 for hair cut, long hair. So, I thought I just misunderstood her and asked her again. She said «$ 50» and showed me the calculator that said, «$ 50». Lady, if I had $ 50 to spend on a haircut would I come to a place called Greatcuts?! I told her that the price quoted and what it said on their price list was $ 15, not $ 50. Then another lady came and said, «Well, she blow dried and flat ironed your hair. That’s extra», First off, she blow dried my hair because she wet it to do the damn cut. Secondly, she told she was going to flat iron it to make sure that the layers were all correct. She NEVER said anything about it being extra. I told her this and she said, «Okay, $ 35». I looked at her like, «Um, no try again». Finally, she said, «$ 30». I was so mad at this point that I just paid it to get the hell out of there before I really lost my cool and said something rude.
NEVER coming back here again!

Got a haircut here for the second time!
This place is perfect when you just want a quick trim and some layers without having to spend $ 50 bucks just for a cut. They will not shampoo your hair prior to washing your hair like those fancy shmancy salons but that’s okay because I wash my own hair every day. They will wet your hair with a spray water bottle.
I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and was seated after just a few min. She (forgot her name) asked me how I wanted my cut and I told her I wanted layers and also told her how much of the length I want to cut. In the midst of the haircut, I also told her that I want shorter layers around the crown of my head for extra volume. She did her job perfectly while maintaining silence. I guess its better to just be quiet than to make silly small talk. Works for me! This is not the place where your hairstylist will ask about your whole life story and agree with you every step of the way. This is your quick in and out stop.
The lady cut my hair exactly how I wanted. She did not style it in anyway and let me out of the salon with wet hair but for $ 20 I could not expect much else. I recommend this place for people who want a simple cut and don’t want to pay an extra $ 30 for someone to wash their already-​washed hair.

I’ve been going to Greatcuts for many years (before it was EZ Cuts) to see Jenny (long hair) or Chi-​due to both their friendliness and consistency. I used to see Jenny when when I had long hair and she cut the subtle layers I wanted to keep my hair healthy. Lately Chi has been cutting my hair now that it is shoulder length. I have thick curly hair and she knows how to cut it without using razor sheers to thin it out. The result is that I no longer have to use multiple hair products to make my curls bounce. They are both very talented and I don’t go anywhere else for my hair care needs.

I have mixed feelings.
I had very long hair and I got +5inches cut off and I’m quite happy to have lighter hair but the haircut itself bothers me too. It looks choppy and uneven. The woman who cut my hair was not very friendly until she was done and gave me a slight smile. She didn’t even offer me a mirror to check the back.
I was in a rush so I couldn’t ask for any changes.
Not worth the $ 15 for a layer cut.

I was happy to find Jennifer still working in Elk Grove! Glad I noticed the sign on Bruceville. Used to go to her when she was at the place around the corner. You know the one behind Spaghetti Factory. Was disappointed when I didn’t see her there and they wouldn’t tell me where she went. Jennifer has always done a great job on my family’s hair and she didn’t disappoint this time either. She listens to what you want and will make suggestions if you’re not sure.
The salon is clean, the prices are lower than the other place and Greatcuts give you a free haircut after 11 instead of 12 haircuts. A great place for young and old alike. Remember to ask for Jennifer.

Followed Jennifer when she moved here from Supecuts and I am never leaving. Go see Jennifer!

Thanks Victor L. for Unilocaling about Jennifer’s whereabouts. On my last visit to Supercuts I was surprised Jennifer was no longer an employee. I missed her positive attitude, personable and skilled hair cutting. She knows my favored hairstyle and cuts it nicely every visit. On my visit today she was equally happy to see me as well. Glad to see she has landed on her feet. I hope the rest of her clients find her as well.

I hate getting my hair cut because I have a head full of thick hair. If you can’t find the right stylist, then EVERY mistake will show up. (Been there, done that. Had to walk away with a way shorter cut than I wanted one time. – But not at this place though!)
That said, I come here because a friend recommended Jennifer. Great personality, and she knows how to cut hair. My layers fit my face very well and I’d gotten a lot of compliments on it already. No more having to tie my hair up until I’d «grown out» the hair a little. Jennifer got it right the first time!
This place also has wi-​fi, very useful when you have to wait. Or if the person you are with have to wait, lol.

I came here two times already the more recent visit was to get a quick cut for my sister’s wedding. I found this place because it is right next to my work, glad I did. The lady who works here gave me plenty of recommendations, which was appreciated because I usually just get a fade unless it is a special occasion.
They have Wi-​fi just ask for the password, useful if this place is busy and you have to wait.
For some reason it seems like only guys reviewed this place so far, which is weird because I think most of their clientele are women…

After looking/​calling around in my near by area for somewhere to cut my hair cheaper than the barber I usually go to downtown. I decided to try out this place because of the Unilocal reviews. I drove into the parking lot and there was a huge group of thuggish kids basically crowding my car, I immediately knew that this place is not in the best area. Anyways after making my way through and double checking that I locked my car I got in there. The people were friendly but it was a mediocre haircut. It was really nothing special, I didn’t see what the big deal was the previous reviews. It really wasn’t that cheaper than then the supercuts in the more decent area a few parking lots away. So in conclusion I will probably not be coming back anytime soon, I’d rather NOT take the risk of my car getting broke into for a mediocre haircut.

If you are looking for a place to get a haircut without waiting forever, you can get a good haircut at Greatcuts. It typically is not that busy. The real reason why my family, 6 kids, and I go there is because of a stylist named Jennifer. She is usually in the 1^st chair right behind the front desk. I usually have to check her schedule to make sure she is working that day. My 3 boys only want her to cut their hair because she listens and provides good suggestions on what may look good. She is friendly and takes care of her customers. She is a secret gem in the rough.
The parking at the location is not the greatest but close to public transit. It is near a bunch of diverse shops. If you need some quick carne asada or Mexican pan dulces you can go to Toledo’s in the same plaza. You can also pick up some Indian spices next door if you plan to cook an Indian feast.
Prices at Greatcuts is same or cheaper than other places.

Upon entering the store the first thing you notice is the fresh décor. The place has a very nice design of colors whether it be choice of color for the tile and walls or the color of the wood desks it matches perfectly. The atmosphere is very calm and it’s an excellent place to go for anything ranging from hair cuts to waxes and highlites or coloring.
The stylist I went to, Jennifer, was very professional and caring. Jennifer was excellent at servicing my needs and delivered what I wanted flawlessly. She had a very large smile and is very happy to meet my needs (im a picky guy when it comes to my hair).
The stylists take their time to ensure a quality hair cut, they dont hastly give you a hair cut and move on to the next customer. I highly reccomend Greatcuts place for everyone, they really do give great cuts. Greatcuts is a real gem in elk grove.
