This place was so nice, clean, and wonderful food, but the best part of it was the amazing staff! They tend to all of your needs and are so kind and caring at the same time! The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. I would recommend the chicken egg rolls, they were perfect.

I’ve come here several times in the last couple months. Once for eat in and a couple times for to go. The service is ALWAYS really good for me. It’s the same little lady who is very sweet. I’ve personally never dealt with anyone else. She’s very nice to me and accommodating. She asks me if you want want or a hard candy while I’m waiting for my to go orders which is always nice. And she’s super sweet to my 3 year old who is loud and crazy. Lately, it’s been winter/spring so the temperature is fine when I’ve been in here. I complained how it being hot in a previous review. They’ve also gotten chinese soup spoons which I appreciated a lot. The phở is fine but still not my favorite. I’ve recently started asking for extra meat on sandwiches. I know that’s an option at most Viet sandwich places and even Subway so I figured I’d ask. They DO have options for extra meat. You can do either $.50 or $ 1 worth of extra meat. I ask for the $ 1 option. And it makes the sandwich super filling and satisfying! I can get the sandwich with extra meat for $ 4.25, sure beats Subway AND I get to support local. It’s a no brainer for me.

clean restraunt, freindly service, good food. I was able to feed the whole family for less than $ 20.00, can’t remember the last time I paid so little for such good food. highly recomended.

First time coming here and the phở was absolutely amazing! It was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. My kids loved the food and the owner! She was very sweet and kept checking in with us. I’m definitely coming back here! Highly recommend!

To be fair, I got my order to-go instead of eating it at the restaurant, so that might have influenced my review of this place and the overall quality. Regardless, I think that I’ve had better phở places :( I ordered beef noodle soup #6(rare steak, well-done flank, soft tendon, beef tripe) to-go. They were fairly fast with my order, and I was able to pick it up in about 10 minutes. Because I ordered it to-go, they gave me the soup broth in one container and another box with the noodles, meat, and vegetables(bean sprouts, basil). I was mainly disappointed with the amount of meat they gave, or lack thereof. There was only a few pieces of tripe, three slices of the beef steak, and about two tendon pieces. There was also one well-done flank piece already in the broth. Overall, I thought there was not enough meat for a regular order of phở. In addition, a lot of places that I’ve had also include beef meatballs in the combination order, so I was already disappointed that meatballs were not included on the menu. The broth itself was okay — a bit bland, but I don’t think it’s fair for me to comment much on it since I didn’t have it immediately in the restaurant. I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt because the server was definitely very friendly, and it may have tasted better if I had it in the restaurant. However, that does not change the amount of meat they gave. Might try this place again since it’s so close to me, but I’ll be sure to check out some of the other places in the area first to compare.

My most favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The staff is always so friendly and nice. The restaurant is always clean and their food is delicious and fast! I like coming here because of their great food and customer service. This place trumps any other Vietnamese restaurant in Elk Grove!

This place served us some of the best and cleanest tasting phở so far in Sacramento/Elk Grove. They were also able to accommodate my girlfriend with a non-MSG style being that they took the stock from the vegetable soup and replaced the phở broth as she is allergic to MSG and even I thought it was really good. The Bahn Mi sandwich was smaller then usual, but really good. Although there is phở I might rate slightly higher, this phở was very flavorful and I did not feel stuffed and dehydrated after eating it. The service was awesome and they truly accommodated any questions. At the end, the older lady owner who was really nice came out; talked to us and explained how she takes extra time to make her broths the right way and does not add as much msg at the end as most places. She even complimented my son saying that he was really tall and handsome. She also gave all three of us hugs as we left. Probably the best phở experience ever.

PHOHUYHOANGBREAKDOWN: THEFOOD: It was okay. Not amazing but certainly better than many of the restaurants in the area. I appreciated that there seemed to be less MSG in the food than what is typical for Vietnamese places. I normally drink like 10 glasses of water b/c of the MSG at places. Not so bad here. The food didn’t stand out but it was decent — a solid 3 out of 5 in the taste category. THEVALUE: The prices are fair. 2 banh mi sandwiches, 2 bowls of phở, 2 spring rolls = $ 26 + tip = $ 41 Not bad. THEEXPERIENCE: The location was easy to find. It looked fairly clean. It was pretty empty when we went bc it was Christmas day(late lunch). Service was nice. WOULD I RETURN? Sure, it’s close and convenient :)

Ordered the phở. The broth is a bit on the bland side for me, but the noodles are a nice texture and the prices are pretty fair. $ 6.75 for a regular size(plenty big for me) and $ 7.75 for a large. The meat was pretty good, but I wish there was more of it. I think what makes this place unique is that they make their own chunky, garlic-chili oil, which is pretty delicious. I’m nuts for sriracha, but decided to skip it in favor of the oil. Not sure if this will be enough for me to come back though since there are so many phở places to try throughout the area. Also, the lady that works there is very sweet and seemed very happy that we came in. That made the dining experience all the better.

This is a small neighborhood mom and pop phở restaurant. The owner is very nice and always makes sure everything is ok. My fav is their Phở Ga(chicken phở) which is very flavorful. Their portions may be a little smaller than other restaurants but I don’t mind. Service can be a bit slow if they’re busy but like I said the owner is very sweet and always makes sure her customers are checked on.

I drive by this place on my way home every day and finally stopped in for lunch today. My fiancé and I ate for less then $ 12.00!!!(that’s for the both of us not each of us!!) the owner/chef was very friendly and quick to ask if we needed anything. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with jalapenos, sticky rice with chicken, and chicken egg rolls. Everything was delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try the Phở!

The people there are so sweet and polite! The food is great and the prices are low. The shrimp soup has a good amount of large shrimp in it, and I really like the wonton noodle soup. The flavors are good and everything I have tried so far is well seasoned. The Thai iced tea is nice and sweet and makes for good comfort food. The restaurant is usually very quiet when I go, but don’t be fooled, the place is worth a shot.

First impression was wow this restaurant is so dead… Must be not great. But then again we were out of nowhere so most places are dead around the area. The lady that served us was so sweet and we fell inlove with the food. Everything was so cheap and came out on time. We loved the spring roll and i got the bun bo hue. Definitely deserve the 5 star and I hope she gets more business.

If you’re wondering, the restaurant name and the menu are in both Vietnamese and Chinese because the owners are Chinese-Vietnamese and speak some of Mandarin, though the dishes are all Vietnamese. I’d recommend going for the noodle soups on the first two pages, and get the house chili sauce to go with it. It’s not that spicy, really. I also really liked that they have options A, B, and C, which is no green onions, cilantro, raw onions, etc. This is great for people who aren’t a fan of these ingredients(such as yours truly). Skip the grilled pork spring rolls though. I ordered one with grilled pork, which was technically off-menu, but the grilled pork was too minced and there wasn’t enough inside. They were also on the smaller size at $ 4 for two. Maybe the shrimp spring rolls are better. It’s been pretty quiet here the past few times I’ve come for dinner after work between 6−8pm. Maybe most people get take out, but it’s a great place for a low-key meal with family or just on your own. I’d still come back if I were craving some noodle soup for a simple lunch or dinner. The staff were really friendly, and I can’t complain about the service.

Came here with the Bf around noon, we heard they had banh mi here so we wanted to give it a try, plus it’s close to home. We ordered a #6 phở in regular size, chicken egg rolls, Thai tea, and 2 banh mi to go. The egg rolls came first, our waitress brought us sissors to cut them to cool off faster and 2 separate sweet n sour dips so bf and I had our own. I thought that was pretty nice. The egg rolls only had chicken, carrots, and noodle… It wasn’t overly oily, and it left me craving for more! I usually get soo full that I don’t finish my egg rolls but I liked how light they were, if that made sense. The Phở was small portioned compared to other places, but the soup was also light and non heavy… Bf and I were satisfied with sharing and drank all of our soup too! Bf enjoyed the Thai tea although it was a bit sweet for me. I got the grilled pork banh mi to take to work, the filling isn’t alot, but flavorful and satisfying. The waitress was very sweet and we felt very well taken care of. Give this little place a chance! We will be back again.

Great service, great food. Ask for the homemade chili sauce, to die for! I like hot sauce but not the kind that kills your taste buds for the next 12 hours. It gives you a kick at first and amplifies the flavors of the food, but the kick disappears shortly after. That’s the way I like to enjoy my hot sauce. The restaurant is in the middle of a business park so it’s a bit off the beaten path, but if you’re driving on I5 passing by Elk Grove and you’re in the mood for Phở, this is the place to stop. The portions are on the small side, but we need to eat less anyway.

I’m pretty bummed to be giving this place only one star but after my sit in dining experience, I just have to. I love Vietnamese food so, after hearing that there’s a place in eg that serves banh mi’s, I was pretty darn excited ! No more driving to Stockton blvd ! My bf ordered sandwiches to take home and we both thought they were pretty good because of the soft bread! The meat on the other hand, they totally are not very generous when it comes to portions. On top of that, the meat tasted like it’s been marinated in soy sauce. Overly salted pieces of meat = no Bueno . Now, let’s talk about my sit in experience. I always give places the benefit of the doubt because I know we all have bad days so maybe marinated soy sauce meat is actually delicious and they just marinated it for too long that one day? You never know! Anyways, about my dine in experience. My bf and I walk into this place on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty dead and that should’ve been a sign to leave but again, benefit of the doubt. The lady that greeted us /walked us to our table was super nice and looked so happy we decided to give them business. We looked over the menu and immediately knew what we wanted because everything on the menu seemed so appetizing. We ordered the bbq chicken vermicelli dish, chicken wing appetizers, egg rolls, and combination phở with all the fixings. The lady that ended up taking our order wasn’t the same one who seated us and this lady was rude and impatient. We asked if they had bun Bo hue because not only does my bf love bbh but, on Unilocal people had said its a must try. When We asked, the lady looked at us like she had no idea what it was. We then told her it was the spicy lemongrass soup. She just rolled her eyes and acted like she didn’t know what We were talking about so we just ended up settling for the phở. Our egg rolls came out first and they were piping hot ! I immediately grabbed one out of excitement to only realize that there were only shredded carrots inside. Nothing more, nothing less. What a disappointment ! What’s worse is they literally looked and tasted like carrot peels! You know when you peel a carrot and try to get the rough skin off? Well, that’s exactly what it seemed like, the raw dirty carrot peel skin. Smh multiple times ! Next, the vermicelli dish. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with this dish because all it contains is bbq meat, vermicelli noodles, pickled veggies, lettuce, fried garlic, peanuts, and fish sauce with chili sauce, lime, and sugar. It doesn’t sound hard, right? Apparently this place thought otherwise. The chicken was flavorless, wait nvm, I take that back. The chicken was actually charcoal flavored. The noodles? They were cooked ok. However, the nuoc mam was disgusting ! It tasted like it consisted of: vinegar, salt, and fish sauce. The fish sauce itself is already salty to begin with so, why did it taste extra salty and extra sour? I couldn’t even eat it because the dish was sooo bad. The chicken wings came after. Little did I know they were the boiled chicken soaked in fish sauce and chili type of chicken wings. I thought they were fried chicken wings. To be honest, I couldn’t touch them. If you’ve read my other reviews, I usually mention how I think presentation is key because we eat with our eyes first so if something looks aesthetically pleasing, it’s always a plus in my book. These wings of a chicken looked raw and smelled funny(which is expected) but both raw and smelly don’t go well together. My boyfriend ended up eating a few but stopped after seeing so much pink on every wing. Now, for the phở. My boyfriend knows what phở is and how it should taste like because he’s grew up on it and his family has their own phở restaurant so you can’t fool him when it comes to phở. The broth: water with possible msg flakes added for flavoring . The meat: can you say stingy? They definitely don’t give what’s deserved . The noodles: probably the only thing they didn’t hold back on . Needless to say, their phở wasn’t great. We’ve had better at a hospital cafeteria to be honest. Once we were done, we went up to the front to pay. The teenage girl who rang us up was rude and unfriendly. I tried to ask her what their popular sandwiches are and what she recommends and she just sat there, rolled her eyes at me, and yelled random numbers. Moral of the story, A) stick to Stockton blvd banh mi’s(I personally love duc huong and thanh huong.) B) if you’re really craving phở and happen to be in the Elk Grove area, just go to phở dynasty or phở lotus . C) the customer service here needs a major adjustment. They should probably see a chiropractor for that.

I don’t know how this place received so much good review, but that’s why I was here. I think the good review here is very misleading and biased. First time coming, I’ve order, order # 6 large phở, the picture looks good with the tripe, beef frank, tenders, etc… When the phở comes in, there was only one piece of everything, except for the 3 beef, but seriously one string of tripe no more than an inches long, unexceptionable! Now, the soup, it was filled with lots of noodles and water, I mean, there was no taste to it. Also, I order the sandwich to go, one is the regular one, and the second is their pork sandwich. When we took it home later to eat them, to my surprise, there were barely any duck pâté and it was soo little amount that, they were not able to spread through the bread??? Whyyyyyy??? Btw, the ham, pork was also a small amount, when I take a bite, the only thing I can taste is the bread, no kidding!!! To my conclusion, this place likes to skimp a lot of things out, most of them are important and essentials to maintain the tastes of the food as a whole. By doing so, they compromised the tastes of the food!

I found my new«go to» place for phở! This place is the best in Elk Grove. This place is awesome! Great phở. Nice and hot, thin pieces of rare steak, the noodles are perfect. The broth has great flavor! The staff is nice and professional. And best of all, the environment is CLEAN! The utensils are CLEAN! Woohoo so happy I found my new place for phở. Maybe next time I will ask for light on the cilantro, but it’s wonderful! They even give you candies after with your bill.

Met a friend at Phở Huy Hoang for lunch on a Tuesday. We were one of three parties dining in this clean and spacious strip mall restaurant. Ordered the large bowl of Phở with rare beef and well done flank with blanched bean sprouts. Good amount of beef and rice noodles. Found the soup to be lacking in flavor compared to phở restaurants that I have tried. How good the soup tastes makes it a good bowl of phở. ( ) Overall, nice and friendly service. Phở is good but wished the soup was better.
