This is a hidden jewel in Elk Grove; a wonderful little place that hopefully will be forced by popular demand to expand with time. Just stop-in and had lunch today. I always liked this place, but now it is even better. They have expanded the lunch time hours and now serve wine and beer. I had a glass of one of their house reds which was very good. The menu was interesting and varied. Many things caught my eye and it made it difficult to decide. The steak salad which was ordered by someone next to me looked delicious. Generous portions of both vegetables and beef. I ordered the cold fried chicken. It came with macaroni salad and some pickled cauliflower and red pepper. I will come back for the chicken … perfectly seasoned with a variety of subtle yet distinctive flavors that made it extra special. I will likely return tomorrow with my wife! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Very tasty and original fare. We had the tomato soup and the whachamacallit that is like an exotic ham sndwich, heated, with delicious cheese and some sort of soupy buttery sauce on a wonderfully toasted-just-right-in-the-oven bun. Ambience is not so good for chatting as there were a couple of loud voices from some women which echoed off the walls. We will return. Note that they just got theirbeer/wine license, so this has become a nice upscale spot for lunch. Open only for lunch.

My family frequents boulevard bistro and sage mill is just as good in quality and their level of gourmet food. There are no places like this in Elk Grove that you can go to for lunch and everything I’ve tried there has been delicious. I’ve tried the meatballs and polenta, the chili, and the lobster and shrimp roll. The chili will make you want to come back for seconds and this is the only place I know of in Elk Grove with a lobster roll and the lobster roll is as good as getting a lobster roll on the embarcadero or peirs in San Francisco. This restaurant takes the title of best for me and Elk Grove, so go try it out and support your local businesses, and spread the word if you enjoy it.

Delicious and unique! Not the run of the mill that’s for sure. Some of the entrees are served in mason jars for a very creative presentation! We enjoyed the Chilled Ramen with pork for $ 10.00. We also had the Beef and Pork Meat Balls layered with polenta tomato, and summer squash for $ 10.00 as well. They offer gluten free and vegetarian! So nice to have a mid town style restaurant in Elk Grove.
