I’d give it a better review as I’ve always had decent service and food from here, and eat here relatively often, but recently I saw something which makes me want to drive across town for a different sandwich. A guy came in when we were ordering, only other person in there; I recognized him, he’s a custodian from my old high school. Elk Grove just has that kind of small town feel despite the popultion. He clearly didn’t have much money on him, and he’d used coupons to plan out his meal to the dollar and get a better deal. He asked before he ordered(implying this may have happened before), and the cashier confirmed the deal was valid; he even asked what sandwiches he could order with it and chose from those. Looked like he was getting a good sandwich, at a good deal. So he orders, makes his sandwich, and eventually gets to the cashier. Turns out that the computer did not want to recognize the valid deal, and the cashier couldn’t be bothered to try and solve the problem. So instead of acting in good faith and accepting the deal, she made the guy accept half the sandwich and took away his meal deal; no chips, no drink, left the half of the sandwich laying out on the counter presumably to toss out. What a horrible interaction, screwing over one of the unappreciated cornerstones of the community. Both the company and cashier are clearly at fault; the cashier for being such an ass who couldn’t be bothered, and the company for both not providing the training to deal with this extrenely common issue as well as providing crap software/machinery(I don’t accept the excuse that companies need to use 15 year old software that breaks down every 3rd transaction). The deal happened to be advertised prominently on the menu behind the cashier, by the way. It was clearly still valid. Also, they’ve cut the portion size so that they put on a pinch of each vegetable, recently. Not the sort of thing I’d complain about, but while I’m at it perhaps there’s a REASON you’re losing business and have to cut back; it isn’t the intersection change, either. The traffic in and out of the shopping area has seemed to be about the same. There needs to be an apology. I feel ashamed for having eaten there, and ashamed for everyone involved. I write this as I eat my increasingly crummy sandwich; I think I’ll be going across town or to someplace else.

I eat Subway pretty frequently, and have probably ate at 100 different locations. This one’s great and would be in the top 5 – 10. I like the veggie patty sandwich. It’s kinda like a veggie burger patty. Plus you can add avocado!

I just called to order 2 sandwich platters for a construction crew like I do almost every week at different locations. This location’s manager flatly told me NO! they would not prepare them unless I came in. This is not some low rent area. This is a nice neighborhood.. too bad that they have a lousy Subway manager..

We go to this particular Subway whenever the urge for Subway arises, because it’s next to our house. Sometimes their lettuce looks brown, but this is hard to avoid with iceberg lettuce, especially since they probably prep everything in the morning. But they are always friendly when we go in. This past visit frustrated me at first but was later remedied. I ordered the cold cut combo after arguing with my eight year old who wanted the spicy Italian, the one with pepperoni and salami, finally convincing her that her little sister won’t eat it because it’s too spicy and they had to share a footlong. My compelling argument with my eight year old ended with a suggestion by the girl making the sandwich when she said they could add pepperoni to her half of the sandwich for 50¢. My eight year old agreed. The woman started making the sandwich and I commented that it didn’t look as though the prepackaged meats contained salami. She assured me it was there, so I took her word for it. I got home and inspected the sandwich once the feeding frenzy was in full force, and it didn’t look like there was any sign of salami at all. All I could see was what looked like ham and bologna. So I called them. I normally hate to complain, but after another bad sandwich experience at a non-Subway restaurant left me disappointed, I ended up writing a bad review when I really should have just called to have the problem addressed rather than writing a bad review. So in this situation I decided to give them a call before jumping the gun. A guy named Ethan answered the phone and told me that all the prepackaging is done off site and said that these particular meats look very much the same. I asked if it’s possible that the packaging center had made a mistake and he said«possibly but not likely». He went and looked in the meat bin and admitted it was hard to tell if salami was in with the prepackaged slices. He was very polite and offered to remake the sandwich for me if I came back in that day. So I did and he remade it for me and put salami on it. He didn’t give me a hard time at all like I was expecting when I originally called. My experience with this place is «so far so good».

I usually go to the Subway nearer to my house at 8145 Elk Grove Blvd, next to the Chevron station, which is about the same as the other locations we have visited in Elk Grove. Today that Subway told us the manager does not want to honor the TV ads, specifically this months Customer Appreciation special subs for $ 2.00. We went to this location by the Burger King and they were friendly and honored the promotion. From now on this will be the Subway we visit, even though it is about 1 mile further down the road.

OMFGDONOTGOHERE. Why? I’m buying a sandwich and this is the exchange that takes place: Woman #1: **answers phone, heated exchange, hangs up, looks to Woman #2** —- «Someone called because there was a HAIR in their sandwich, and it must have been YOURS because I didn’t make that sandwich». Woman #2: **Goes to the back to re-supply the banana peppers** WTF?!? Hair nets please? How ’bout some tact? I think I’m going to stick to the location off of Harbor Pointe, next to Starbucks(2300 Longport Ct).

For a long time I would go in and see the same dudes working. They knew the old cut that Subway used to do. I loved it. Now, it’s nerdy lookin’ teenage dudes and cute dim chicks. The old cut is lost. This Subway is in a strip mall next to Burger King. The parking lot is a tight fit. The inside is colorful-bright with several tables. Decent place. Subway has changed. Adding healthier options, more veggie options, sauces. So many choices. A toasted sandwich option. I actually preferred the old Subway.
