I LOVE this place Me and my family have been coming here for years since it was Little Brooklyn and my parents have since it was called taco town… Love the atmosphere and the 50s style. When we come our must have Is the Chips and Cheese We have 2 orders of it :-).we also happen to like the little tea light candle it’s a cute little touch :-) :-) When we were kids we fought over who got to blow it out . My mom and I LOVE the basket of 3 tacos… and we personally the love the huge mound of lettuce and CHEESE so good… My sister loves the chicken sandwich Can’t wait to go back :-)

Their burgers, wraps, malts, and ice cream are really good! This past time I got their nacho platter and it was absolutely disgusting. The meat on there tasted like it came straight from the dog or cat food bowl, I couldn’t even eat it. Service is okay but they don’t even ask you how everything tastes or ask if you’re needing anything. Make sure to stay clear of the owner, he is very intense when they are busy and doesn’t seem very nice. Oh, and beware the hours they list on their website they are not accurate. They’ll closed down when they feel like it. On a positive note they have a cool Elvis 50’s vibe to the place but over all this restaurant can be hit or miss!

Good old fashioned ice cream and attentive, friendly staff make this THE place to go for ice cream! Cheap prices and a fun atmosphere! Check out the splash pad down the street when you go!

Bacon cheese burger, fries and a shake Nirvana. I like to go here when I have my old hotrod out. Their Elvis Decorum brings you back to the era. The walls have classic authentic signs and the Elvis in front is great for taking pictures. It is worth the stop on Highway 10 or 169.

First impressions matter. After reading the other reviews, my wife and I decided to try Daddy-O’s during our vacation to MN. When we walked in, only half the tables had customers at them. The other half were covered with dirty dishes. There was not a single clean table in the entire place. We had to bring it to someone’s(manager?) attention so that they could clean one off so we could sit and eat. Of course, cleaning the table only meant taking the dirty plates off and wiping it down with a sopping wet towel, so it was still very wet. We had to ask to get some napkins to dry it off. Service was not great. They were busy, so I try and cut them a little slack, but having been a waiter there are some basic do’s and don’ts. One of the big don’ts for me is don’t walk past your table that was just sat and completely ignore them. A quick«Hey, glad you’re here, we’re a little busy so give me just a second and I’ll come back to take care of you» takes almost no time and goes a long way in making customers happier. We then also had to flag our waitress down anytime we needed anything(mustard, ketchup, drink refills, etc. I actually just got up and grabbed one of the ketchup bottles from another table since ours was empty.) The food was ok, but nothing special. A step above Burger King and McDonalds, but on par with places like Culver’s or Whataburger. Fries were pretty much the same. I was surprised to find the burgers came with no trimmings, but I’m not sure if that’s just a regional thing. So, overall, I was unimpressed. Definitely will not be on our list of places to go back to next time we’re in the area.

They serve a hamburger that is juicy and full of flavor! The French fries are crisp and taste like a potato … fresh and not frozen. The décor is a throwback to the 50’s. Their malts are just the right viscosity(thick but not so thick that you can’t pull it through the straw.) One of my top favorites if I want a great burger.

I’ve always gotten fast and friendly service here regardless if I’m with my children who are picky eaters, alone, or with friends. The food is heavy but hits the spot when you need some comfort food and ice cream. Reasonably priced too!

Living not far from the restaurant we have walked by here many times, and often stopped in for a delicious ice cream cone. We decided to give this place a try and we were very pleased. The décor is 50’s style and the food is good olé American food. Simple burger and fries with great portion size at a great price. I would recommend this restaurant and will eat here again and again.

A-OK. It’s your typical greasy, unhealthy food with a high school staff at your service. Based on the other Unilocal Reviews I think it’s safe to say that you don’t stop in for the food. It’s a cute, local hangout with fun, vintage 50’s-60’s style décor. Came here with my mom on a Tuesday evening. Quiet, seat yourself, friendly staff, and quick service. My mom order a burger; I Ordered the quesadillas. They come with sour cream and salsa on the side; quite a plentiful portion as well but if you want some real, authentic Mexican food I would recommend Mucho Loco 5 minutes away, off of 169. We split a chocolate malt for dessert which was pretty tasty I must say. Prices are reasonable for what you get. My recommendation: Stop in for a malt/shake on a relaxing afternoon/evening.

Love this place! it’s got great fairly priced meals! You get a lot of food for the costs here. The food is always fresh and not processed garbage. Never once has my salad had gross lettuce, and the cheese is fresh too, it’s not that shredded bag cheese. The Mexican is Americanized but it’s still great awesome food, and the burgers, can’t beat em! They have the absolute best quesadillas at this place!

This was out first visit. We went based on other Unilocal reviews. The restaurant is a seat yourself affair. We heading to the back to get a booth and enjoy a river view. The river view is more like a view into the back parking lot. Also, the back entrance is right there so people using that stream right past the seating in the back. Can be a busy location. We ordered burgers for our meal. From order to food on the table was about 20 minutes. Pretty quick. The burgers we just OK. They were about ¼ in thick and looked like the ones you would expect out of a grocery store. The buns were slightly toasted, nothing special. I ordered mine with cheese and had two slices of not quite melted american cheese on it. The burger only came with a few pickle slices. No lettuce or tomato. The taste was good, not great. The fries were your garden variety ¼ inch frozen to fryer fries. Good, nothing special. The atmosphere was nice. 50’s décor, kind of. The pictures on the wall, the music and T.V.‘s all were of that period, but the booths and wall’s were not. Overall, I was disappointed that an independent business that has an opportunity to really stand out and make great food, is just average. I don’t want to go to a non-chain food restaurant and get the same fair I can get anywhere.

A good burger and a shake joint, with some cool 50s stuff(and a bunch of TVs playing old TV ads – this evening it was all cigarette ads, which was an interesting choice for my dinner, but anyway…).(There is a bit of Elvis history in the front room that I think looks genuine, and even if not it was very interesting to look at.). Servers are local kids, and aren’t quite ready for prime time, but they try hard and we left a good tip. All of us loved our burgers, and it was a good stop for some road food.

I’ve been going here ever since they were«Little Brooklyn» In Brooklyn Park, before they changed names and moved. I was SO thrilled to have them move closer to me, as I love this place! It’s nestled in the old downtown of Elk River, along the river. In the back there is window seating with a great view! I go there for the tacos, they are amazing, but you must like re-fried beans and cheese. Perfectly spiced and just awesome; the best tacos around. The other mexican food is, well, mediocre. The burgers are real burgers, the malts and shakes are right out of the 50’s, the décor too! Very friendly staff and most of the time you’ll catch a glimpse of the owner! They put on an old car show every summer too! They serve 1919 rootbeer in frosty mugs, now who does that anymore these days!!! Lots of great little touches and a must if you’re in the area and want a bite to eat! The cons are parking and seating during prime hours, also they are only open until 8pm, so if you’re planning on going there later, you’re out of luck.

This place is OK, burgers are decent and the malts are pretty good. They have a few Mexican items on the menu but your best off sticking to the burgers. The Mexican items that I’ve tried aren’t the greatest. I had a Chimichanga the other day and had a hell of a time trying to find it through the mound of lettuce they put on top of it, when I finally found the damn thing it was tiny, but I guess I got a salad out of the deal. They do have a really good Jalapeño salsa, and the service is always good. Good place to go with the kids!

This place is great. If you are looking for a good, burger and fries or taco at a great price, then this is the place! We started with the chips and cheese and it was amazing. I had to inquire about what makes it so great. The manager said it is made from real cheese and spices so it is nice and thick, no Velveeta here. I also asked about the candle used underneath; it isn’t supposed to keep it warm but rather is a nice touch of presentation. The tacos were great. But if you don’t like refried beans then skip them. It was a perfect blend of meat and beans and had great flavor. Not greasy like a lot of other places. Also, they serve it with so much cheese on top; it is hard to find the actual tacos! Being a cheese lover, that was a great touch. My friend had the burger and loved it as well. He ordered one with mushrooms and onions and said they were cooked to perfection. Also, the mound of fries he received was quite generous, and unfinishable. He said they were great as well. The fifties décor is a fun touch, but if you want a more quiet, chill spot, head to the back of the café for a table with a great view of the river. Also, in the front of the café there is a soda fountain type area with great ice cream and malts. I was pleasantly surprised and had a great experience. I will be back!

I went here on a recommendation of a friend. While the décor is very cool(50’s –ish/Elvis, etc), the food was bland and nothing to write home about. We ordered the chips and cheese to start out with. The cheese was gelatenous and grossed my husband and me out. They serve it on a little«tea lite» which I think they expect to be powerful enough to melt it. Sorry Daddy-o’s…it didn’t work. I ordered the taco basket and my husband orderd the broasted chicken. We ordered a grilled cheese for my son off the kids menu. My tacos arrived and I had to dig under a mound of lettuce in order to find my tacos. I don’t think you really can ruin tacos, but you can certainly make them more tasty. These were very bland, meat had no flavor, and well, the mounds of lettuce were a bit extreme. My husband’s chicken was plentiful, but lacked any flavor or seasoning on the chicken. He had one piece and was done. The grilled cheese that my son got was MAMMOTH. Okay, for a kids menu, I think you are safe for making smaller portions. It was made with Texas toast(too large for a kids mouth), In any case, Daddi-o’s was a big disappointment. Perhaps we should have known better and ordered burgers instead of what we did… but I doubt if we will go there again to give them another shot.
