I’m not surprised if this place is actually closed. I went there about 3 or 4 times between the time they opened and last Feb. 2015. Each time there were issues with them being out of ingredients or poor service. The service from the managers and servers was particularly bad. I went with a group of 12 people and 6 of us got our food and then 30 minutes later the rest of us got theirs. Awful. And the manager acted like we were picky for caring. The happy hour appetizers were soooo small and NOT cheap. We got one spoonful of guac for about 8 dollars. Seriously. The sad part is that their ceviche was truly incredible. The restaurant itself was also beautiful. It had potential, if only the owners and managers had any business sense.

I would say to go only on the weekends, Friday-Sunday. I visited on a Thursday and the place was pretty quiet. Just two other couples in the restaurant. This is a red flag when restaurants are serving dishes with raw fish. Last thing you want is fish left over from the weekend being served until their next delivery of fish. The Ceviche was the most disappointing of all the dishes we ordered. I wanted so badly to find a ceviche done right relatively close to home. The fish was not fresh and sliced extremely thick. The fish seemed and tasted like the farmed tilapia from Costco across the street. There was not much flavor except for an overwhelming amount of lemon juice which would mask any fishy odor and taste of old fish. I enjoyed the crisp thin slices of red onion the most on the dish. The steak cooked medium ordered was well done and extremely tough. I did enjoy seeing the large flames shooting up from the grill when it was being prepared but it did cost me. The plantains were complete charred as well. Overall, it was medicore food at a premium price. Perhaps it’s better on the weekend when the turn around on the food is quicker and they are not overcooking food on the grill.

We came back, I liked the chorus a la chalaca a lot. We got Jalea Criolla and that was pretty good. My fiancé got ceviche, which was ok. We also got a chupe de camarones and didn’t like it. I know in my last review I said we wouldn’t come back. But we decided to give it this last chance

One of the BEST ceviches I have tried. The food is just fantastic as well as the décor and the traditional service from an authentic Peruvian restaurant. I took my husband for the first time to try their famous selections of fused ceviches. He is from Peru, so he has never been to a Peruvian restaurant that has had a exclusive menu of their top dishes made authentically like back home. He indeed felt in love with it! We highly recommend this restaurant. Prices are very economical compare to other high end seafood restaurants that are no where near Pisco when it comes to the quality of their ceviche and other traditional Peruvian dishes. This restaurant is very modern, classy with romantic atmosphere. Definitely not a restaurant to get«Turn Up» or for some one that is looking for $ 1-$ 5 happy hour rail drinks. Its very private and rarely packed with people, which I like a lot. That makes the servers focus more in you and the experience overall.

I can understand why the place was empty with the exception of 5 people in the entire restaurant. My friend and I made up 2 of the 5. The drink was just ok, kinda tasted a lot like juice with no alcohol in at at all. It was the cheapest thing I could snag on the happy hour menu at 10 dollars. Actually, im pretty sure that the the whole happy hour drink menu consisted of drinks 10 and up, it was a whole 1 dollar off the normal price. The happy hour menu, smh. Let’s just say this, the cheapest thing on it was 13 bucks and it’s seems like it would be really small and underwhelming. It’s insane that the entirrrrrrreeeeee bar was empty in full swing happy hour time. We blew this over priced hotdog stand and headed over to houlihans where there were only two seats left at the bar and we glady got our happy hour munch and drink on. I understand that this place isn’t a chain like houlihans but many other small business have a far better executed menu that entices people to at least want to try the food.

Dropped in for HH to turn UP!!! On a Tuuuueeesday… Buuuuuuut surely your Tuesday turn up shall NOT… Be found here. Was one of 3 seated groups of patrons in the ENTIRE huuuuge restaurant dead SMACK in the middle of happy hour. We sat ourselves at the completely vacant bar in hopes of great small plates and libation fare with probable great service given there being no one else there to serve but noooooooooope. Bartender took forever and a day to greet us or offer drinks, all of which were club/lounge prices. Pisco… Are you serious??? 15 of my ones for a watered down cocktail in an abandoned restaurant? No worries. Ky T. has wasted a 20 spot in far worse ways so bring me out a signature cocktail since you claim ingredients are allllllllll fresh made and superb… Unilocal family… I witnessed this bartender counting quite a bit of change with her bare hands before greeting us then using said bare, filthy money exposed hands to grab a palm full of grapes, drop them in a glass and proceed to muddle them with a spoon she received from a sink full of what appeared to be dirty dishes… And theeeeeeen fill said drink with a mixture of filmy juices and syrups she retrieved from buckets, jars, and squirt bottles beneath the bar. Liiiiiiike actual lidded buckets and jars of filmy substances I was NOT inclined to try whether mixed in with hard liquor or not. As it pertains to food, the happy our specials were their basic appetizer food marked down 50 cents to 1dollar with nothin offered even seeming appetizing. With the heavy smell of bleach in the air like the stinch of a dead person was being covered, I could not eat here. The bartender was in a p**s poor mood. Drinks were overpriced and under poured. Food was not being cooked or served anywhere within my view but I would not have eaten it anyway. The location is beautiful warranting this one star, but EVERYTHING else was dreadful at best. My guess is employees and staff wrote the positive reviews and feedback and everyone else passes this place to head to Houlihans in the same row of restaurants and shops.

Pisco is a pretty interesting and funky restaurant that took the place of Mama Lucia which was located here previously. We entered on a Friday night and the bar and restaurant area were pretty empty. My wife had the Arroz con Mariscos which was well seasoned with plenty of seafood. I ordered the Parrillada Pisco for 2 which is essentially a meat platter. Everything was very good except for the blood sausage which I didn’t care for. The meat was fairly thin and somewhat dried out. The chicken was good, but nearly as tasty as Sardi’s which specializes in Peruvian chicken. I might be back, not a great place for kids.

Old friends of ours who live in the area took us to Pisco for lunch on Sunday. Large airy and modern dining room with an open kitchen and bar area. We ordered a variety of appetizers to share, some of which were really good(Papa Rellena and Pulpo al Olivo) and some not so great(Tamalitos de Cerdo and Papitas a la Huancaina). The Cheviche Pisco Trio was just ok. We also order their classic charbroiled chicken which was very tasty. All in all, we enjoyed our food(but enjoyed catching up with our friends even more). Service was good. We had a hard time understanding our server who had a heavy accent but we got through our lunch without any problems.

This has become a favorite place and I am always discovering new things on the menu. So nice to have a restaurant that is not a chain in Columbia! I just discovered the pisco sour drink and will definitely try that again. We usually get several appetizers and that works well for trying a range of dishes without committing to the entire meal of one thing. They have fabulous music here too, upbeat lounge type. The lighting and ambiance are unique!

I am a huge fan of Peruvian food, and I believe I have found my mecca. Let’s start with the drinks, which are my favorite part. The Pisco Sour is the signature cocktail offered here, it’s also the national drink of Peru. Bottles upon bottles of Pisco Porton line the walls(a nice, imaginative touch). I’ve had Pisco Sours before, both in restaurants and homemade, and this restaurant does it best. I have no clue how they get the froth on top to be so foamy, but they do it, and it’s incredible. Not into alcohol? You’re not out of luck. Try the Chicha Morada. It’s a delicious, healthy beverage made of blue corn. You won’t find the real stuff anywhere but a real Peruvian restaurant. Treat yourself to some true exotic taste and get the chicha! As for the food, they do that right too. The lomo saltado is probably your best bet if you’re new to Peruvian food. I would also recommend the ceviche as an appetizer. During my last visit, I went for the beer marinated duck, which was just as good as it sounds. The interior is beautifully well decorated and modern. The lighting is just right. It’s perfect for an intimate date night/a night out with friends/office outings/everything. To address the negative reviews, you have to realize that the food served here is exotic. Don’t expect Mexican food, and definitely don’t expect what you’re used to getting at Outback or Chili’s. If you’ve never had Peruvian before in your life(which I assume is the case for most Americans) then you’re going to experience new flavors and concepts when you dine here. It’s all about being open minded to trying new things. That is after all, the point in chasing down exotic places like this. If you’re thinking of giving this place a try, don’t let the negative reviews deter you.

I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in here. The vibe is European lounge meets trendy restaurant. NOT what you’d expect in a Columbia strip mall. I came in at 1.30 on a Monday afternoon, and the place was all but empty. I was escorted to a beautiful table and a mini fryer of plantain chips(good) and corn nuts(meh) was placed at my table. Water was served and the pitcher left at the table — like. I ordered the Anticuchitos de Lomo, and the Ceviche Amazónico. I asked to have the ceviche extra spicy. Both dishes came out about the same time and boy am I glad. The beef was a little overcooked but the flavor was incredible. The ceviche was perfect but extremely spicy. I love hot things, so I was ok with it, but be warned, spicy means 10 alarm here. Anyway the dishes balanced each other out, so my taste buds were happy jumping from dish to dish. I will say, I do not care for the cancha, to me they tasted like stale corn nuts. One pet peeve, the corn on the beef dish was served on the cobb, making it difficult to eat. Other cons, they seen really fixated and strict. There’s a surcharge for plate sharing($ 4), and extra sauce($ 1). It just seems a little nitpicky for a place that charges $ 12 for an appetizer. Overall good place. Will be back with hubster.

We ordered the ceviche clasico which was delicious and I felt that you get more than what you pay for($ 14) as it was a good amount of serving. My parents got the Parrillada for 2 which consisted of several types of meat. It came with salad and fries. My parents did not want the salad and fries and when we asked if we could substitute for other sides, we were told we couldn’t. So we decided to just get additional sides of plantains and rice. They really liked what they got and had plenty of leftover to take home. I thought this was a really good deal for $ 36. I ended up getting the Lomo Saltada as it said it was a Peruvian favorite and I wanted to see what it was about. It came with white rice and French fries. I really wanted to try their Yucca but again, I was told that«you can’t substitute your side for another, but we can take out the fries for you». Which I thought was weird as I would have gladly paid extra if needed if I could switch the sides. Also, for how expensive it is($ 17), I felt that requesting another side is pretty reasonable. Anyway, this«Peruvian favorite» was beef with a whoooole lot of onions with some brown sauce that tasted like straight up soy sauce. I’m not going to lie, it was pretty disgusting. I could barely eat it as the soy sauce or whatever that was, was very overpowering. Service was very slow. We found ourselves flagging our waiter down from across the room since we wouldn’t see him for a good amount of time. They initially forgot my parents’ sides, extra plates as they weren’t about to eat from the serving plate, and steak knives. Ceviche and the Parrillada were good. But service needs a lot of improvement.

Finally got a chance to check this place out. Sunday afternoon for lunch was awesome. Our waiter was on point. He was courteous and patient since it was our first visit. I was disappointed that outside seating we not ready yet since the wether was so beautiful today. The plantain chips and corn nuts was alright for starters. I was boring this time around and ordered grilled chicken. But it was great. Seasoned just right. I had sweet potato fries and plantains as my sides. I also had to Pisco Sour drink. It was $ 11 bucks but good. I will definitely be back to try something different on the menu.

Four stars for the food. Two stars for the service. This sums up my experience from this afternoon and the distinction between the food and service rating is an important one for you, dear reader, to note. Food — it’s expensive, but good. Come for the happy hour(3 – 7) which has cheaper drinks and select appetizers are half off! The ceviche trio is a great way to sample some of the variety. The fried plantains side are perfectly balanced between smoky and caramelized. The fried yucca is amazing — crispy outside and fluffy interior — no easy feat. And the sauces that come with it are top notch, especially the spicy salsa verde. Skip the crab wontons — all fried wonton, no filling. The guacamole dip is okay. Drinks — While the Pisco Sour wasn’t quite as good as any I had in Cuzco, it was still decent(3 out of 5). My fiancée got something killer with pisco, ginger, and bitters. That’s what I would recommend. Service — Pretty substandard. When we came in, there was one other patron in the entire restaurant for about ten minutes, then there was just the two of us for the remainder of our visit. We sat at the bar, and the bartender took at least 2 minutes to acknowledge us and then another two just to bring us menus. After delivering our food he, no, I wouldn’t say«disappeared;» he was chatting up coworkers in the corner by the bathrooms. When we finally paid, it took 10 minutes for him to pick up the check when we were clearly ready for him to take it. Saving grace — the manager came over to check on us and make sure our food was good. He was very friendly, attentive, and seemed to give a crap about his patrons’ experience. Without him, service would be a sad 1 star. Ambience — Trendy and upscale. A chic and yuppy vibe with the colorful walls and animal sculptures juxtapose with a black and white mural of Machu Picchu. The place looks and feels very clean. I’m not sure if I’ll be back. The food was worth coming back for(I definitely want to try the beef hearts!), but if I have to have such an abysmal service experience, probably not.

Ambience is trendy, food is good and the Pisco sours are the best I’ve had north of Miami. The staff is friendly, menu is creative and authentically Peruvian with some swag, and the bar is truly an ode to Peru’s national drink: Pisco, Pisco sour and all its variations!

The only dissatisfaction I had was that I arrived there an hour and half before happy hour. This place is very relaxing and the décor is nice. Service by Carolina was good. It was the type of service that was attentive but not overbearing to the point where you had that being bugged feeling. There are numerous selections ov cerviche to choose from and on my next trip I am looking to try a little something on the warmer side. Don’t get me wrong the cerviche was very good but there is so much to try on the menu. The Loma llama drink I had was very refreshing as it was close to the taste of a mojito in my opinion. I could have drank them all day if I was not driving. Remember Unilocalers safety first. The calamari appetizer was very good and the tarter sauce was a nice compliment. I thought it was unusual that they added pickled onions on top of the appetizer but it added a nice additional flavor. This is my first time dining here and it will not be my last. I am especially looking forward to dining during there happy hour which is 1500 – 1900 or commonly known as 3 – 7.

Went to Pisco for lunch on a Sunday and had a great experience! Staff was friendly and knowledgable about the menu and ingredients in each dish. There were plantain chips on the table(really good) and our water glasses were kept full by the beautiful decorative glass bottles left on our table. I started with a small house salad and traditional ceviche for my main course. The salad was average, but the ceviche had a pretty presentation with a variety of corn & hominy kernels, onions, white fish and sweet potato all in a lime juice with cilantro. Our server separated the checks for our group of 6 which made payment run smoothly. We will return and are interested in their brunch menu advertised as coming soon!

PISCO is a great little neighborhood gem that’s tucked away in a small strip mall around the corner from Trader Joe’s. If the sign didn’t say«peruvian cuisine & ceviche bar», the exterior could just as easily be passed by as just a shoe store or a nail salon. But once inside, the first thing you notice is the subdued mood lighting throughout the restaurant and bar area. Then there are the funky velvet chairs around some of the 4 tops and the huge padded horseshoe shaped booths in the back of the restaurant under the shadow of a giant Machu Picchu mural on the wall. The volume in the room is also low even when relatively crowed, which all combines to create an ambiance that is pure«date night». The first thing to appear on your table is a bowl of warm Andean toasted chulpe corn,(the Peruvian version of corn nuts) and plantain chips. The entrees range from the expected, like Peruvian Chicken and Lomo Saltado, to the more unexpected like Picante de Mariscos, which is a traditional Peruvian seafood dish with a spicy cream sauce fermented in chili paste, sofrito, coconut milk and diced potatoes. The ceviche and the desserts are all artfully presented and equally as delicious. The only downside for some may be that while the dishes at PISCO are all flavorful fusions of Peruvian textures and tastes and the entrée prices are very reasonable at $ 9-$ 16… I wouldn’t describe the portions as extremely generous… More than Tapas, but less than the average American restaurant entrée experience. Temper your expectation with that bit of knowledge and you’ll enjoy the ride at PISCO’s.

I went back to Pisco again to try more ceviche after the long eating fiasco of Thanksgiving. I am ready for something lighter like fish ceviche. Someone in my party ordered Nikkei, the tuna fish ceviche with peanut, ginger, sesame oil and pisco. I didn’t think I will like it but I was surprised to like the sweeter sour and salty ceviche. The sesame oil didn’t show up much which is a good thing. Love the sauce!
