No frills home cooked BBQ here! Delicious food. We had pulled beef, pulled pork, smoked sausage, Mac n cheese, chili fries, potato salad, Cole slaw, hush puppies and pecan pie and apple pie for dessert. Everything was delicious. Everything served on Styrofoam plates. Service was very friendly & attentive. Great spot for some good BBQ.

My boyfriend and I just got back from dinner here. As the name suggests, the restaurant is housed in a friendly looking log cabin. The atmosphere is homey, warm and welcoming. Our waitress was great, and our food arrived quickly. I ordered the half rack plate of ribs, and my boyfriend ordered the Eastern North Carolina pork plate. Both were wonderful. I ~*slightly*~ preferred the pork plate, but both were delicious. We both got the cajun fries and mac & cheese as sides. I really enjoyed both of the side dishes! Everything about our experience at Log Cabin BBQ was awesome. Parking was easy, and we were seated quickly. If you’re in the area, I would highly recommend it! P. S. As a side note, they do not serve alcohol, which isn’t all that surprising– but I did want to give everyone the heads up!

We ate there last night. 17 of us basically we covered the entire menu pulled pork ribs fries loaded fries etc the best thing I can say the waitress worked her butt off and was a sweetheart and the hush puppies were very good. The fries were terrible. The ribs were adequate at best and the pulled pork was bland and chewy

Great ribs — fall-off-the-bone tender! They do St. Louis and North Carolina style bbq at a good price. Right across the street from the Massanutten Resort, this is the perfect alternative to the resort food. This place would kill it if they advertised a bit at the resort!

Small and cozy authentic barbecue place. Food was excellent. We both had the sampler platter. Pulled park was very good and had 3 different options. I had the original recipe and my husband had the North Carolina BBQ. We got ¼ ribs. They were the meatiest I have ever had. I am not normally a big fan of ribs but these were outstanding. Baked beans, Cole slaw, and hush puppies were all outstanding. Reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend this place. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Only down side was the styrofoam plates and plastic silverware.

After a few hours hiking The Nut, this place restored all the calories burned off in the mountains. Tender and tasty BBQ. Look forward to the next hike.

Let me keep this review short and to the point: been to the LC once, had Pork Ribs. Probably the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life, out of probably 200 places. Smoky, meaty, tender, luscious — I didn’t know food could get so good. Simply blown away, raved to the staff, left huge tip.

Very casual laid back BBQ spot with tasty food and good prices. Very good pulled pork. Ribs are good with a variety of types. Nothing fancy but satisfying. Not far from Massanutten resort.

The food was delicious. There is not a lot on the menu but everything on the menu was good. If there was one thing that I could change it would be to make the servings larger. My husband who has a big appetite had to order 2 dinners. This was ok because the price is very reasonable but I think he would have preferred to have a «sampler» which had large portions of everything.

I wasn’t thrilled with our meal here although the fried pickles were very good. Atmosphere was comfortable and service was good but I expected more based on al the reviews online and from our resort. We enjoyed our meal at Hanks much better.

Just got to Massanutten last night and wanted a quick meal that we didn’t have to cook. Ordered the 4 – 6 person meal. Everything was great and it was ready in 15 minutes. Get the«North Carolina«option for the sauce. Would go again.

Very good que. nicely smoked. Good smoke ring, flavor. Meat was fall apart tender. Not overly sauced. Sides(hush puppies and slaw) were tasty. Disappointed that there were no greens. I’d go back. Wish I could make ribs that good. Good prices.

The troops were hang-ray! After an interesting morning of tubing(paramedics were involved) and studying(investment banker from Malibu was involved), we stopped here to fuel up before heading home. It was a good call. Of course, I looked this place up on Unilocal the night before, so I wasn’t at all surprised to have been steered in the right direction. The restaurant is exactly what one would expect for a place called Log Cabin Barbecue. Large booth seating flank Formica tables. Food is generally served on Styrofoam plates. Servers are clad in logo tees and wearing that old familiar tie waist apron. You pay at the front. Basic stuff. No real frills, but who needs ‘em anyway? Not when you’re serving BBQ. So, the pulled pork sandwiches were mighty tasty, and the hush puppies were scrumptious! Real honey whipped butter would have put the already delicious hush puppies over the edge, but alas, only tiny packets of margarine were offered. They serve their BBQ two ways; their original and their take on NC style BBQ. We all opted for their original… isn’t that just the smartest thing to do anyway? If it is their original, or signature, or house, I always want to try that first. It was good and saucy, which I particularly enjoy. The bun was also a bit of a surprise because it wasn’t your typical 99 cent bag of white bread hamburger buns. It was a decent bun! Kudos there! Oh, and we managed to feed five for $ 44. No joke. Next time I’m in Massanutten, I’m definitely making this a repeat.

We visited here during a trip to Massanutten resort. The food is great and really affordable(even for our big family!). The portion size for the fries was huge! The sandwiches were bigger than I’d expected, too. Though the BBQ relied heavily on the sauce. I prefer Texas BBQ and how the meat itself is full of flavor. The sauce was good though. The hush puppies were tasty. They are really family friendly, too. They even have a few different styles of high chairs to add convenience with the little ones. Really, this place was just what we were looking for. Family friendly with pretty darn good food. We would definitely go back if in the area again.

It was inexpensive, with decent sized portions, and good service, but I just wasn’t impressed with the food. I had the pulled pork, and it tasted like the frozen stuff from the grocery store. While not bad, I would expect better tasting product from a restaurant.

Looking for something that was local. Read about Log Cabin Barbeque on Trip Advisor and Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I got a Pork BBQ Sandwich, Cole Slaw, Mac and Cheese, and hush puppies. All of the food was great especially the Mac and Cheese! Best Mac and Cheese I have ever had! BBQ was great as well! Will return when I come to visit Shenandoah National Park again this spring!

Within sight of the Massanutten Resort Rd entrance, this cozy no-frills atmosphere offers decent food for a good price. We dined here in the off-season, so it wasn’t too crowded, but the menu was small enough that the kitchen should be able to keep up with mass crowds of vacationers. My beef BBQ and Sausage Platter(waitress merged the two individual plates at my request, thank you!) was pretty good for $ 7.99 and included two sides, my options were green beans and mac-n-cheese, plus either a kaiser or dinner roll. The kaiser roll was a little dry, but tasted great with the beef BBQ. My wife’s Pork Platter with baked beans and mac-n-cheese was delicious as well, but the dinner roll might have caused some damage in a food fight. Her sweet tea was well-balanced and within acceptable limits, not the lazy«diabetes in a cup» approach others take. Even with the throw-away picnic plates, we really enjoyed our visit here. Our cashier(owner?) and waitress were friendly; I wish this place every success!
